I went to the sculpture fields for the Sea Light lantern festival. It was really nice, but not quite as pretty as the Asian Lantern Festival at the zoo. I enjoyed many of the lanterns, but the owls were my favorites. They had some interactive pieces where you could take some pictures. There was an act with some Asian jugglers, a clown and a man in Asian dress doing quick mask changes. The mask changes were pretty amazing. There were also vendors offering bao buns and other food, snacks, and drinks, plus kids novelties. Overall it was a fun night. read more

"We think you got a lot of potential Kit De Luca, don't let anybody tell you any different." The SF@MP has a whole lot going on and even so, this park is worth a stop. It looks to be a repurposing of an industrial wasteland to a sculpture park in a transitional (industrial to residential) neighborhood. There are many meaningful sculptures (~20) found here. The labeled ones (permanent) were thoughtful and it rivals sculpture parks at larger cities. It's really enjoyable to experience a developing park that someones' passion and efforts went into. Yet, there seems to be a disharmonious temporary? fairy fantasy wire framed fabric characters strewn about their permanent pieces. We didn't readily see a list of sculptures nor a map. We walked the park and many sculptures were labeled. Think a posted map of the sculptures at the parking lot would be helpful. When we visited, it was an early Spring. The grounds were in their natural state than manicured grass and the paths were gravel. I recommend wearing a good pair of walking shoes. There were few porta potti at a corner of the parking lot. Overall, while I enjoyed the permanent collection, I found the SF@MP in an identity crisis. Their fabric collection, though it's fun and funky, it took away from the main pieces and was like an amusement park gone extra. Their collection though is one of the best outside of DC and NY on the East. The SF@MP has a lot of potential. read more

This is a great spacious park with lots of sculptures to look at, gravel paths for running and walking, and birds for birdwatching! It's really well-maintained and peaceful. It's a great space for relaxing, popular but not overly crowded. The area around is developing and somewhat industrial, but feels quite safe to me. Not something to go out of your way for, but it's a fun and quiet sculpture park that's free and great to have in the neighborhood. read more

This is a very calm, chill place to walk alone or with family. We were in town for a couple days and just wanted to fill some free time we had. It can be a relaxing walk or interactive with the app that is posted at each sculptures sign. read more

This place has potential but it's not there yet! Grass is unkept, a lot of random people sleeping in the park area and it really is deserted. If I were visiting alone, I personally would have thought twice about walking the park by myself. Great sculptures but overall just an okay experience. read more

Enjoyable display. Wear some serious hiking shoes. My regular sneakers had my ankles rolling in the gravel paths. The art is worth the visit. The sport has an openness about it. Dogs are welcome. Be warned that not all dog owners are picking up their poop. The area is being reclaimed and elevated. That said, possibly not safe if you end up here alone. Also, a police break parking lot. We came here on a Saturday late evening May 2022. The word on the street is this land used to be an old dumping ground for junk. But they cleaned it up and now it is a park with art sculptures. I wouldn't come out here during the day as there's no shade but if you came in late evening with a breeze it was actually pretty pleasant to walk around and look at the sculptures. Minus the fire ants! Unfortunately they don't have any information about each sculpture or who did it or why. Just a sculpture sitting in the middle of the field. But I love all types of roadside oddities and this is a must see if you are in the Chattanooga Tennessee area. There is plenty of parking and Renaissance Park on the river is right around the corner also I must see. read more

This place is one of the hidden gems of Chattanooga. A lovely walk, surrounded by a myriad of sculptures. They also do some pretty cool events here as well, like kite flying events, bonfires and food trucks. The place is well patrolled by the local police dept. Sculpture Fields is an absolute must see when visiting Chattanooga! With plenty of parking and lots of space to draw move, it's a perfect place for a family (Pets allowed if on leashes) or individuals. You'll be amazed by the various sculptures and ideas the artists put into play while creating. Each sculpture has an "about" so you're able to understand a bit more about the meaning behind it. I recommend going at sunset as you'll have a beautiful view of Lookout Mountain. I'm told that each year they do a sculpture burn! You can checkout their FB page to see when that is. I guarantee I'm gonna be at the next one! I read there are talks of more sculptures so I bet this park will only continue to grow. Can't wait to return! read more

As Chattanooga grows and expands it's refreshing to find this park maintaining open space on the south side of the city. The field has multiple gravel paths going around and thru the park so you can get up close and admire the many sculptures placed throughout. There's restrooms located adjacent to the parking lot and benches throughout the field to sit and admire the art. A perfect place for a picnic or to stroll. I hope there's a plan to place signs by each sculpture so provide information on each work of art. As of now there were a few signs in the ground but many were gone or hard to read. Sculpture Field is a lovely place to spend tome admiring these larger than life works of art. read more

Beautiful park with beautiful art! We spent more time there than we originally planned because it was so calm and quiet, and bigger than we were expecting! It is easy to access with a spacious and free gravel parking lot. Giving it 4 stars because only some of the sculptures were labelled, and even the ones that were didn't have any information about the pieces! We tried to google some of them, and still couldn't find anything about any of them. I think they could really benefit by maybe putting up some plaques with the names of the pieces and maybe a little bit about them and where they came from. But overall I'd say it's worth a stop. There were people there flying kites and getting family photos done- just overall a beautiful and well maintained park! read more

I don't know who dreamed up this place, or why, but it must have been someone with a great imagination. Granted, I am not a connoisseur of art. But we stopped by to check out the interesting pieces and it was certainly eye catching. Different large sculptures dot the landscape of this park located in the middle of old industrial buildings. (However in the middle of the day it felt very safe; it is very wide open and there were several other groups walking around or hanging out including a few four legged friends.) I'm sorry I can't elaborate on the history or how the pieces spoke to me, or what some of this stuff even IS, but nonetheless it was a neat stop on a day trip to Chattanooga. read more

Not as glorious as I thought it would be ... could use some vegetation or a pond to make it look more lively. The place needs some more TLC , however for huge man made structures called art, I didn't mind the adventure with my friend. There are LOADS of red ant piles so be very careful where you are walking. This is a nice free park to take a stroll. Today was the grand opening and there was a band playing and food trucks. It was a beautiful day but very chilly and windy so we only looked at a small part and agreed to return on a warmer day. I was suprised at how big this park is. The lady talking over the loudspeaker mentioned that the trail is 1.5 miles long. She also said that this is just phase one and will be doubling in the next phase. I'm not a fan of art but can appreciate the city for making such a nice place for us to enjoy. read more

Don't waste your time. The park and sculptures are off the beaten path to say the least. Some of the sculptures are neat, but not worth the time. Numerous fire ant hills, so not an optimal place for your furry friends, unless you have them on a leash. Paths are mostly gravel/rock. Look elsewhere unless you really enjoy strange art. read more

We arrived around 5 pm, and it was already getting dark (winter trip), and it was a bit sketchy to walk around the park, because there wasn't a single other person or car there - and NO ONE nearby. It was kind of a wasteland. Some of the sculptures may be interesting to look at, but we didn't really take the time to explore. This was a nice little artsy park to visit while we escaped Florence in Chattanooga. Looking for dog friendly activities in the city we stumbled upon multiple sources mentioning Sculpture Fields. While we aren't the most artsy fartsy people there are, we decided to stop and take a stroll in the park before lunch, it was a great decision. The park was very clean and larger than expected, all the sculptures in the park were super interesting and pretty. The dogs also enjoyed walking around even though it was super hot out. I feel like this is one of those not so known tourist attractions in Chattanooga that's perfect for a quick little stroll. read more

This is the coolest event for families! Kite flying has somehow become something people don't do as often anymore. This brings back the beauty of kites, while allowing the rest of the family to enjoy themselves with music and food and drink- and most importantly with art. Why no 5 star? I really like the park. What brought me there was an event-Spring into sculpture. I've never been there but when I heard about this event I decided to go. The event was good , and next year I hope I can come later and see how the wooden statue will get burned. This park has 38 statues , and they all have names. Only what I miss in this park -I miss trees but I guess to observe the statues you need to have space to get the right and personal idea. I wish this park can host more art and music events because it has a lot of space. read more

This sculpture park gets better every time I visit. I used the Otocast app while in the park and was able to learn about the the artists and their work...from the artist themselves! This is definitely my new 'go to' place for walking, especially after I've had a hard day and need some slow-down time. It's so tranquil and they've provided places to sit along the way where I can just hang out and meditate. If you're into picnics, especially a romantic picnic, this would be the perfect spot! ...or for letting your children run off some energy while you check out the beautiful works of art.
