What an awful experience! We found a vehicle on the website and applied for financing. We were approved and set to head to the lot because the car was listed as being in kingston. Our "sales" person Leslie informed us that the vehicle was currently in Belleville. She said that she could bring it to Kingston but that we should pay a $500 deposit. When asked why we needed a deposit on a vehicle that we were approved for, we were told that we should just pay it because we would have to pay $500 upon the signing of the financing anyway and it guarantees that no one else will buy it. The next step was to get a test drive. Who puts a deposit on a vehicle that they have never seen or tested? Leslie let's us know that the vehicle we had been waiting for had arrived from Belleville but that it was out on a test drive. I was floored... The vehicle was being brought for us to buy and we were already approved. By the time we got to the lot, the "other" person's test drive just wrapped up. We were informed by Leslie that the other person showed their commitment to buy by placing a deposit, despite the fact that we were ready to test drive and sign. How patronizing can a sales rep be? Purchased a vehicle in 2016, with the CarOne OCFL program. As well as a full warranty, with coverage for up to 140,000 kms. since purchasing we have taken it in for some warranty work, and also to do our oil changes. Up until recently, we had been receiving our oil changes under the OCFL program. I called to book an oil change, and was informed that they no longer offer the program without the purchase of another service. I asked 'well I have some warranty work that I needs done, can I book it for then?' They Told me no, unless I was paying for the service out of pocket. I said 'I'm not understanding, I have the OCFL', and they said 'the rules have been the same, they're just enforcing them'. Soo... I took my car to ford to get the oil change. March -- we had a rear wheel bearing that was gone, so we called for an appmt to have it looked at. Wheel bearings are covered under warranty. I went on a Wednesday. upon inspection, they found the control arms needed replacing, as well as some other things. control arms are also covered under our warranty. We would need an allignment, due to control arms being replaced. They gave me an estimate and said 'this is what your warranty covers, this is what you're portion out of pocket will be'. I said, we'll have the warranty work done, the other stuff my husband can do himself. They then told me 'your vehicle is unsafe to drive, we do not recommend it'. Keeping in mind, I have my 1 year old daughter with me. I told them, I don't live in Kingston and I needed to get back Home. I was told 'well I'll have the shop guys button it back up, and you can get on your way'. She asked when I couldcome back, and we agreed the Friday after I had been there would be best. Friday - I go there for 10:30AM. I was told I would be in and out by the time I needed to pick my daughter up from school. So, I'm hanging around for 4.5 hours. during the last 45 minutes that I was there, I was told 'car should be done soon, there's 2 guys on it right now' . I asked if it'd be done by 2:30 as That's the latest I can stay. No one came back to tell me anything.. about 20 mins later someone came and told me 'they're trying to find you a car, we don't know when the part Will be in'. Confused I asked 'what part?', I had no idea what she was talking about. Come to find out, they had broken something under my car during service, and needed to replace it. they find me a car. I have a midsized sedan (Fusion), they were lending me a Chevy Cruze. I informed them my RF carseat will not work in this car, as the back seat is too small, and it is illegal for the car seat to touch the headrests in the car. I was told, 'you will have to push the seat all the way up, and your husband will have to suck it up'. I took the car RELUCTANTLY, I had to go. I called the next morning For a manager. He told me he's given me a courtesy vehicle to do my day to day life. I told him I can't do that, as my family does not fit in this vehicle and it's a weekend. He said 'at some point we hve to say some things just aren't our concern'. I told him this isn't acceptable. he called me back, and said he'd offer me a bigger car as an exception. Then informed me that 'the reason your kind of getting push back from us is because you haven't spent any money with us' ..then tried to coorace me to have the other work done, by telling me 'he knows how keeping my family safe is important to me, and my car is unsafe'. Bad business, & unprofessional. I was going to be a returning customer as I've been on the market for another vehicle. now I will not EVER return for a purchase. I've raved about this dealership, and now I will never do so again. These people need to learn how to communicate. I told the service department yesterday I'd be there today after work to pick up my car. the manager emails me this morning asking me to bring their car back, and pick mine up today.. talk to your fellow employees, you'd know more things. Try learning respect, and common decency .. it'll get you further in life. read more

Here is an account of my experience with Car One Kingston. I made the mistake of buying a used car from them in Nov 2017. They have onsite mechanics and assured me that car had been maintained and its condition checked and validated. This assurance was part of the reason I purchased the vehicle from them. It was a massive mistake. Within a week I noticed the smell of oil and determined that the engine oil was leaking. Car One could not figure out why after several attempts to figure it out. Finally Williams Auto in Amherstview figured it out. This cost well over $3000 over all, some was covered by my powertrain warranty, but much of the cost was on me. Most of the cost was for hours wasted in the inept (or deceitful) Car One garage. Fast forward to June 2019. I was driving and my engine lost compression (failed). Knowing I was still covered by my powertrain warranty, I towed the vehicle to Car One since they will only honour the warranty in their garage. My car maintenance history proved that I was eligible for warranty coverage. What happened next is disgraceful. It took them over 5 hours to do diagnostics to determine that the engine needed to be replaced. Once they determined the warranty is valid they started to buff up the charges way past the $3000 warranty coverage. Over all they charged about $5995.00 dollars for the entire engine replacement. Charging me $2995 extra out out pocket. In total I have paid well over $4000 out of pocket for repairs on a $6500 car. Probably at least an additional $5000 covered by the warranty. Unfortunately I financed this car so I could not just let it go. I am only 1.5 years into a 4 year finance term. It was only marginally beneficial for me to repair the car than drop it, pay the remainder of the financing and go buy a different car. I feel foolish for falling into this trap but people need to know this. DO NOT trust Car One. *Update* I approached the Car One "Lead Salesman" to try to work out a deal on a trade in. After a meeting he offered to sell me a Nissan that was on sale, and said maybe he'd offer at best $1200 for the trade in. So no deal because they don'tlower their prices under any circumstances, even a customer with a dud car. I told him that the operation was sleazy and shameful, he told me I was lucky to have my warranty honoured, because normally they don't. Complete scumbag operation. Strongly advise to avoid doing business there. read more

The worst experience ever - I have never ever had such a bad experience buying a car - luckily we didn't buy it from them. We thought it could be because they are busy, man power issues ... but reading these reviews, I remember all the things they were telling me and how they didn't mention anything about repairing only at car1 etc to have this warranty valid and such - Humm BBB needs to do something about this... read more

If I could give them a negative star review, I would. VERY difficult to deal with, sales manager and finance person were extremely rude when called on their fiddling with numbers. Manager Ali Dar quoted one rate and then came back asking me to sign saying it would be 'somewhere between X% and X% rates on the paperwork and got nasty when I read the details, found the figure and refused to sign. Changed the paperwork so that the sales agreement reflected the agreed upon rate but then buried a higher rate on paperwork that was sent to Desjardins. So...two different contracts with two different rates...rude, UNETHICAL and sleazy. Will NEVER do business with them again and will make sure that I let everyone I know is aware of their sleazy business practices. read more
