Carol's Sweets is a haven for anyone who has a sweet tooth. It feels like an old-fashioned candy shop with a modern twist. There are candies in glass jars, instead of plastic bulk bins like at the grocery store. They also carry a lot of imported sweets, for those who like something a little different. They have anything and everything you're sugary taste buds could be craving, from truffles and nougats to jellies and lollipops. I grew up loving Pez candies, and Carol's has loads of them in all sorts of different characters. There are boxed chocolates for quick gifts, but you may want to take some time and try one of their truffles from their counter. It's like a little piece of chocolatey heaven melting in your mouth. Honestly, I think I got goosebumps because it was so sinfully good. Carol's also has cookies and chocolates at their counter, and right now everything is Halloween-themed. There are treats shaped like cats, pumpkins, bats, and witches. A great idea for party treats, if you're thinking of throwing a Hallow's Eve bash this year. I was surprised to see they also sell "passion paint", for those feeling a little amorous, I guess. Looks like there's something for both kids and adults in this candy shop!

I have an incredibly huge sweet tooth and when I walked into Carol's Sweets, I fell in love. This store was candy from wall-to-wall. They had pretty much everything you could possibly want - numerous chocolates, fudges, hard candies, soft candies - everything. The girl working was sitting behind the counter eating candy (it looked like Tangy Taffy). She didn't pay much attention to us until we brought some fudge up to the counter but I didn't mind because I was so darn happy to be buying fudge! I want it to be known that this candy store is great for kids but it's also great for adults (such as myself). If you have a sweet tooth, you will soon be sweet on Carol's Sweets!

    Christmas stuff is in!

I LOVE the variety here! Creamy truffles, imported chocolate, sour candy, ginger candy, sugar free mints, candy cigarettes, Finnish licorice, countless flavors of jelly beans, Star Trek Pez dispensers...Geez, I can't name it all. Did you know they offer classes on candy making? I might have to check that out sometime. In the meantime, I've already picked up a few stocking stuffers in the form of candy tins and packets of hot chocolate.

Today was the first time I was ever in Carol's Sweets, which is kind of weird, since I love chocolate and candy. The first thing I noticed, when I walked in, was the chocolate pizza. It looked so delicious. On the left-side wall, there's tons of clear jars full of colourful candies. I thought the Lego candy was rather neat. I'm not sure if they would be good for building, but they are definitely good for eating. They also sell Jelly Belly jelly beans here, which are my favourite. The sours are amazing. At the back of the store, I noticed some imported candies, like Raisinets, Goobers, and Sno-Caps. I think these candies are popular in the States. I just like anything that is foreign to me.

I really enjoyed coming here. There is a great variety of every type of candy and chocolate. Lots of british candies that I love! I barely had an opportunity to look at all the chocolates at the counter before time forced us to go. I have to set a budget before I walk in there. There are sodas that you can't get at most places here. Like Cherry 7-Up! They have a good little variety of drinks you can't usually find. The staff are very helpful. There was so much to see ... I was very excited to look at everything. I could have spent hours in there.

When was the last time you felt like a kid in a candy store? Here, you can't help it. At Carol's sweet shop there is wall-to-wall candy. Even if you don't have a sweet tooth, just wandering through the place is colour therapy. You'll recognize some of the jellied sweets and sours from your local convenience store, but Carol's has much, much more. You'll get a sugar rush just walking through the aisles. I saw some of my old faves: cola bottles, sour keys, Lik-A-Stic, Bottle Pops, cinnamon lips, Jelly Bellies, butterscotch hard candies, almond bark and more. There are also glass cases of fresh gourmet chocolates and truffles, boxed ones ready to go, syrups, hot chocolate powders, sauces and toppings. This is a great place to stock up for the holidays or just pop in and treat yourself to something sweet.

This is just what I pictured heaven looking like as a kid and I found out a couple days ago that my definition really hasn't changed much. I walked into Carol's and was completely overwhelmed by the amount of sweets and chocolate in this little store! There were familiar things such as Nerds, Jelly Bellys, and Tangy Taffy, and things I had never heard of before like Honeybears and Red Licorice Alsorts. There is also lots of chocolate, lollies and PE. The candy is mostly in jars and you have to bring it to the counter to have it dished out in a minimum of 50 grams. I tried the Honeybears and Red Licorice Alsorts and loved them both. I would love to visit this store all the time, but unfortunately my jeans wouldn't appreciate it.

It's really tiny but packed full with an assortment of candy - a bunch of Jelly Bellys along one wall by the cash, and bulk chocolate, gummies, and bonbons around the other two. In terms of gummies they had some interesting ones I hadn't seen before such as Haribo-brand sour strawberry (yum) and sour cherry (ok) slices, and sour lemonade-blue raspberry coke bottles (in addition to a variety of other kinds of coke bottles, sour or not). The bulk stuff is interesting in that you can't open the container to pick out what you like (kind of a pain if you don't like all the colours of say, the dino sour gummies) - instead there is a rake-like arm in the plastic bin which you use to pull the candy towards a slot at the front. Once you've got what you want there, you can place your bag (grab one by the door) under the slot, open it up, and it will drop in your bag. I guess this helps prevent unwanted snacking. They also sell varieties of chocolate covered fruit and nuts, and those powdered bonbons that I love, which taste kind of like fruit Mentos and I've seen popularized at wedding candy bars (they have black currant, strawberry, lemon, watermelon, blue raspberry, and cherry).Scattered around the store is a bunch of other candy that will probably bring you back to your childhood, like giant jawbreakers, and Bubblelicious bubblegum (strawberry, grape, watermelon, or bubble gum flavours). Price-wise I found it on the expensive side, though I do like that it is a flat rate for all bulk candy ($3.29/100g except Jelly Belly at $3.39/100g), so you can easily mix everything in one bag. It is certainly more expensive than Bulk Barn but if you're craving just a bit of candy that isn't your usual selection, I would recommend coming here.

Having been to several candy stores in several cities in the last few weeks, I feel I can leave a fair review for Rocket Fizz based on one visit. Visually the store layout is very appealing. Items are beautifully displayed on various countertops, and cleanly organized into wall strips. Bottles upon bottles of colourful carbonated beverages of every flavour adorn the lower shelves, and are also available in two large coolers next to the checkout. I'd actually be a little nervous to bring a child or a clumsy person with me! The place is spotlessly clean and very wholesome looking in a 1950s diner kind of way. As other reviewer noted, there are no loose or bulk candies, other than salt water taffy. This is probably a good thing, COVID notwithstanding. Who really wants to eat the stale raunchy candy halfway down a pile or a giant jar anyway? There are some candies which typically come bulk that are already neatly packaged and on display, but not much selection. I was a little disappointed with the selection overall. For example, all the KitKat and other chocolate products seemed to be quite heavily focused on white chocolate. There was a small KitKat section near the back of the store, but there were only 2 flavours, green tea and sake. Other notable flavours were birthday cake and apple pie. I feel like they got stuck with the flavours that are lousy sellers. There's a small jar of little one-bite KitKats at the checkout, yet they don't sell them in packs. Huh? One thing they had in abundance was Walkers toffee and liquorice products, including little liquorice gummy Scottie dogs. The Hammonds chocolate bars come in a delicious range of flavours, like coconut cream pie. Although it's beautiful and undoubtedly mind-blowing for any kid who walks in, wandering around the store gets old fast. It's organized like an Irish video store from 20 years ago - random titles everywhere, not much organized into categories, lots of product repetition. It makes it look like they have a lot of selection, when actually it's pretty limited. Fun for a visit, but you'll probably leave feeling like you really didn't find what you were looking for. Didn't have the selection of other, smaller candy stores I've visited recently. I'm a bit disappointed with Rocket Fizz, but there are good points to it. The soda pops we tried were NOT one of them!

They have a variety of unique and hard to find candies, chocolates and pop here. The prices are a bit expensive but it's kind of worth it considering how rare some of these items are. You really can't find these things in your average grocery or convenience store. I was impressed to see a box of Pibb pop here. I only tasted Pibb pop from fountain machines in the USA. It tastes a bit like Dr.Pepper. In recent years, I've found Pibb in the new digital fountain pop machines, in some restaurants or movie theatres in Edmonton. The first time I've ever seen Pibb in canned form was at this store! Overall, I had a fun experience checking out this store. This is a great place to find awesome gifts for anybody who enjoys sweets. I will definitely like to come back here!

When you first step in I admit it is kind of a neat feeling to see all the candy containers and other candy themed knick knacks that they sell but after that initial feeling wears off there isn't much to get excited about when it comes to this place. First off even with two people working I received no greetings or offers of assistance which was surprising as there were alot of little ones in the store and you would think you would want at least one person on the floor making sure people are looked after and candies are not being sampled by over eager little hands. I tried to keep my purchase on the small side as I couldn't find any signage near the candy indicating what the price per pound was and I didn't want to get a shock at the till. After making my selections I brought my bag to the till and it rang up for $3.25 which doesn't sound all that bad when you compare it to other goodies in the mall but my problem was the fact that everything in my bag was stuff you could find at the convenience store for five cents a piece. If I went by convenience store prices what I had in my bag was worth $1.35 which isn't even half of what I paid here. Finally the biggest slap in the face was how everything tasted. When you pay more I think you should expect a higher level of quality but what I got wouldn't even be considered acceptable let alone high quality. My lime bottles were so stale it took about two full minutes of chewing to get it broken down enough to the point I was comfortable swallowing and the fuzzy peaches seemed to be a day or two away from creating a similar issue. I had read the reviews prior to coming in here and really wanted to be a white knight finding the stores good qualities and hopefully writing at least a three star review but my fellow yelpers were correct in their prior evaluations. The price, service, and quality of goods here are DREADFUL and you would be much better off spending your money somewhere else!
