I essentially reached an epic level of grumpiness today and so happened to be near the mall so I figured what better way to cheer up than with candy right? WRONG! When you first step in I admit it is kind of a neat feeling to see all the candy containers and other candy themed knick knacks that they sell but after that initial feeling wears off there isn't much to get excited about when it comes to this place. First off even with two people working I received no greetings or offers of assistance which was surprising as there were alot of little ones in the store and you would think you would want at least one person on the floor making sure people are looked after and candies are not being sampled by over eager little hands. I tried to keep my purchase on the small side as I couldn't find any signage near the candy indicating what the price per pound was and I didn't want to get a shock at the till. After making my selections I brought my bag to the till and it rang up for $3.25 which doesn't sound all that bad when you compare it to other goodies in the mall but my problem was the fact that everything in my bag was stuff you could find at the convenience store for five cents a piece. If I went by convenience store prices what I had in my bag was worth $1.35 which isn't even half of what I paid here. Finally the biggest slap in the face was how everything tasted. When you pay more I think you should expect a higher level of quality but what I got wouldn't even be considered acceptable let alone high quality. My lime bottles were so stale it took about two full minutes of chewing to get it broken down enough to the point I was comfortable swallowing and the fuzzy peaches seemed to be a day or two away from creating a similar issue. I had read the reviews prior to coming in here and really wanted to be a white knight finding the stores good qualities and hopefully writing at least a three star review but my fellow yelpers were correct in their prior evaluations. The price,service,and quality of goods here are DREADFUL and you would be much better off spending your money somewhere else! read more

B Sweet is heaven for anyone with a sweet tooth. It is a little kiosk inside of West Edmonton mall that is surrounded my tiny walls of candy so you feel like you are in an actual store when you go in. They have tons of candy. Grab a bag and start loading up. I actually just look at it from afar these days because otherwise I get sucked right in and get too much candy. Way more than I can handle. This is another one of those places that if you have kids try not to let them see it or they will go crazy. read more

Wow, the candy in here is expensive! I went in when I noticed the Hello Kitty candies including jelly beans, and cute holders. The HK items I saw were anywhere from $6 to $25. I get the rent is high in WEM, but I wouldn't buy a chocolate bar here when you can walk down the hall to the Dollar store and get it for less than $1. They also sell 12 can cases of hard to find pop like Cherry Coke. They are priced at $25.99 and makes the $14.99 price I saw in Calgary a steal! The staff person behind the counter did acknowledge me and asked if I needed help. Save your pennies when you want candy and get it at the neighbourhood convenience store, you will get more for your money! read more

Only prices on half the items, maybe not even so you never know how much something is. Also as per debit interac agreements companies are not allowed to put a limit on a price to use a debt. (Credit card yes because they can be more money, but a debt transactions as per interac agreement is like a Penny cost towards the company). So $3 minimum on debit transactions, Pffft.... This is the worst candy store that I have ever been in. Their prices are significantly higher than their competitors Coney Island Candy Store on Whyte Avenue. The staff are exceptionally rude and offer little help to their customers when asked. When I asked the staff to reweigh the candy I was planning to purchase, because the weight seemed significantly higher than I expected, I was told take it or leave. I ended up buying it because I had put this candy into a bag but 24.00$ for a small bag of Jelly Beans and Coke Bottles is ridiculous. read more

So today March 20/10 I go and get my g daughter some sugar free ju jubes. I take them to the counter to pay for them and the snotty young girl says that is the price for the regular candy. I tell her that she has to sell whatever the product is marked for according to advertising standards. She is very rude and I guess maybe Ill boycott this store or at least tell the world about my sad experience as a g parent! F for customer service. read more

This place makes me lament the closing of Coney Island candy shop on Whyte ave. This is barely a candy shop, but I guess void of other options in the mall (excluding the chocolate shops) this place is king. There is no value the selection leaves much to be desired and it just feels lazy. read more

This is the worst company I've dealt with in a long time bought a groupon for 40$ that didn't mention any rescritions yet I go in and they wouldn't let me buy anything talked to a manager and she straight lied to me about it. Walking in the store I felt like a little kid in some sort of candy land. Looking around I saw many candies I had never seen before. However the prices were absolutely absurd. They had my favourite honey sticks which have costed me no more than 30 cents anywhere I've ever seen them. Here they were 65 cents a pop. I could only buy a few due to their prices. As I continued to peruse the store, I realized absolutely EVERYTHING is usually double or even more expensive than other places. Sadly this is the only real candy store I could find. The one place they haven't screwed you over is their service. The woman who rang in my honey sticks was very polite and made pleasant small talk whilst ringing in it. My husband and I stayed at West Edmonton mall for our honeymoon, and on the second or 3rd day there, we finally came across b sweet, my only complaint about the store, was that it was a little bit hidden, and had we not just been taking a walk around the ice rink, we wouldn't have noticed it. The Lady was very friendly in there, I am a collector of M&M's, and and man did they have enough M&M stuff for me to max out my credit card, there was a particular item, that was the last one left, and was defective, and she gave me a discounted price on it, which was very nice, we had a long chat, and it was a very pleasant experience. I've read a lot of other reviews on this site about the place, and i almost think some people just like to cause trouble, and i'm not meaning the employees at this b sweet store, i would highly reccommend it to all my friends visiting there, with or without kids. :) read more

This is a perfectly-fine candy store, with a lot of options to choose from, including some rarities and some English stuff. It's not as well stocked as the Gummi Boutique, nor does it have the fancy sodas that Collector's Edge does on the other side of the mall, but it has the biggest selection of Jelly Bellies I've ever seen. read more

A Horrible experience to say the least. To give a back story, the lady from this story was working a previous time my wife and I visited this store, and to our amazement she was pocketing candy and eating the candy openly and laughing saying that she wasn't allowed but its fun to try new stuff. Sunday July 15 2012 - Myself, my wife and a friend of ours walk into the store near closing time and start selecting candy to purchase. After selecting 1 type of candy and filling a bag my friend takes a bite out of 1 of the candies he has. This same lady runs up to him and starts saying in a loud voice "You are stealing, give me that. It is all by weight". She then grabs his bag of candy and walks back to the till. Now I oversee this whole event and approach saying he didn't have any malicious intent and I'm sure he would gladly pay for the full value of the 1 candy he ate on-top of that bag. Problem solved right? Wrong. As we finished the rest of our purchases we ask the male worker there if there is a policy in place about workers eating candy openly. He suddenly gets defencive and states " She works here so she can eat all the candy she wants." Now we have a had enough so we start to walk out of the store. As I do I tell the male worker " There should really be a signs around with values and that products may not be sampled." It is a fair request but mistakes do happen. My wife states after he grumbles that "Its a candy store called B Sweet, you should at least act it.) The female worker runs through a crowd of kids with there parents and starts screaming at my wife and I. (she got right in my wife's face.) I am shocked by how she is reacting to a simple request. My wife tells her to calm down its over. At this point I step between them and the Lady walks away yelling at us that she is calling security (we are at the door entrance to B Sweet) She continues to yell at us saying " I work 7 days a week and its the end of my shift so I don't have to put up with this." Honestly If your work life is causing you to lash out at people and you work around kids at a store called B Sweet I believe you should be looking for a new job. I casually ask her for her name so I can file a complaint. After many refusals because she is ignoring me I ask the male worker. His arrogant reply is "ask her yourself". Well then, I walk my friend to the bus depot down the hall and walk back to B Sweet and stand outside there door and call security myself to file a complaint. After Filing the report and everything the officer stated the lady heard my wife say "Come at me". Now not only is this hilarious and a pathetic attempt to cover up her side of the story it is still no excuse to verbally assault and to threaten her by running at her. Lesson of the story is yes they may have a good selection with above average prices? But do you want to have a risk of anyone you know having an incident like this. I would recommend the owner of this store send her to an anger management course, Hire a person to cover part of her shifts, and give her a nice long break. Sadly employees are the face of your company. And bad experiences like this will drive away many of the family's that she yelled over, the family's who get to hear about this event, let alone my business with the company. I was recently at this candy store and received the worst customer service of my life. The two ladies who were working were exceptionally rude and I watched them scream at a little girl who dropped a few candies on the floor. She was in tears as one of the ladies continued to follow her around to ensure that she followed the rules accordingly. I was appalled at their behaviour and lack of customer service.
