Not to be confused with B Sweet, the candy shop near the entrance by the bus terminal/skating rink,…read moreCandy Candy is a little kiosk-shop on the first floor near the windows overlooking the splash park (east end of the sea lions tank, near the escalators, a newly-installed elevator, and those weird water massage booths). It's really tiny but packed full with an assortment of candy - a bunch of Jelly Bellys along one wall by the cash, and bulk chocolate, gummies, and bonbons around the other two. In terms of gummies they had some interesting ones I hadn't seen before such as Haribo-brand sour strawberry (yum) and sour cherry (ok) slices, and sour lemonade-blue raspberry coke bottles (in addition to a variety of other kinds of coke bottles, sour or not). The bulk stuff is interesting in that you can't open the container to pick out what you like (kind of a pain if you don't like all the colours of say, the dino sour gummies) - instead there is a rake-like arm in the plastic bin which you use to pull the candy towards a slot at the front. Once you've got what you want there, you can place your bag (grab one by the door) under the slot, open it up, and it will drop in your bag. I guess this helps prevent unwanted snacking. They also sell varieties of chocolate covered fruit and nuts, and those powdered bonbons that I love, which taste kind of like fruit Mentos and I've seen popularized at wedding candy bars (they have black currant, strawberry, lemon, watermelon, blue raspberry, and cherry).Scattered around the store is a bunch of other candy that will probably bring you back to your childhood, like giant jawbreakers, and Bubblelicious bubblegum (strawberry, grape, watermelon, or bubble gum flavours). Price-wise I found it on the expensive side, though I do like that it is a flat rate for all bulk candy ($3.29/100g except Jelly Belly at $3.39/100g), so you can easily mix everything in one bag. It is certainly more expensive than Bulk Barn but if you're craving just a bit of candy that isn't your usual selection, I would recommend coming here.

Having been to several candy stores in several cities in the last few weeks, I feel I can leave a fair review for Rocket Fizz based on one visit. Visually the store layout is very appealing. Items are beautifully displayed on various countertops, and cleanly organized into wall strips. Bottles upon bottles of colourful carbonated beverages of every flavour adorn the lower shelves, and are also available in two large coolers next to the checkout. I'd actually be a little nervous to bring a child or a clumsy person with me! The place is spotlessly clean and very wholesome looking in a 1950s diner kind of way. As other reviewer noted, there are no loose or bulk candies, other than salt water taffy. This is probably a good thing, COVID notwithstanding. Who really wants to eat the stale raunchy candy halfway down a pile or a giant jar anyway? There are some candies which typically come bulk that are already neatly packaged and on display, but not much selection. I was a little disappointed with the selection overall. For example, all the KitKat and other chocolate products seemed to be quite heavily focused on white chocolate. There was a small KitKat section near the back of the store, but there were only 2 flavours, green tea and sake. Other notable flavours were birthday cake and apple pie. I feel like they got stuck with the flavours that are lousy sellers. There's a small jar of little one-bite KitKats at the checkout, yet they don't sell them in packs. Huh? One thing they had in abundance was Walkers toffee and liquorice products, including little liquorice gummy Scottie dogs. The Hammonds chocolate bars come in a delicious range of flavours, like coconut cream pie. Although it's beautiful and undoubtedly mind-blowing for any kid who walks in, wandering around the store gets old fast. It's organized like an Irish video store from 20 years ago - random titles everywhere, not much organized into categories, lots of product repetition. It makes it look like they have a lot of selection, when actually it's pretty limited. Fun for a visit, but you'll probably leave feeling like you really didn't find what you were looking for. Didn't have the selection of other, smaller candy stores I've visited recently. I'm a bit disappointed with Rocket Fizz, but there are good points to it. The soda pops we tried were NOT one of them!
