Carol's cafe is situated just off the main high street, easy to find and is very popular with both locals and tourists, especially when the cruise liners are docked in the near by harbour.
Carol's cafe is a cafe and a takeaway chip shop. The takeaway part of the shop is very popular and is always very busy, There is a wide selection of food available. The only trouble is that it is a rather narrow galley waiting area, with only 2 seats, and it can be very frustrating when it is really busy as the menu is on pieces of card stuck to the back wall, which makes it hard to see. When it's busy you are more than likely standing outside waiting, because there is not enough room, and with the main entrance/exit right next to the cafe entrance this makes it more frustrating for customers, as they are being pushed aside continuously.
The food however is of good quality and you get a good sized portion. Prices are reasonable.
Inside the cafe, there are several tables set out with high chairs available for children. It is an alright little coffee shop and certainly does the deed intended. It is very popular. However, sometimes the cafe customers are sitting waiting longer for there food when the takeaway section is busy, this is not very good for young children who are getting frustrated and upset.
They do supply a selection of fruits and sweets for the kids, as well as soft drinks.
I know this sounds negative, but really it is a good little chip shop, and the food is of good quality and well worth trying. read more
