Mmmmm cake!
Emma W.

This has to be one of the places i go almost everytime i trek up to aviemore, whilst visiting my Gran. Everything i've ate here has always been delicious. the coffee has always been hot and tasty too! On this visit, my Mum and i shared a rather large slice of the hummingbird cake - which was DELICIOUS! It was so moist and morish! Not recommended for wheel chairs and it's all upstairs :( My lovely Gran couldn't get up these stairs. But it's good coelics as the do gluten free cakes and look very yummy indeed! Warning! It can get very busy and a queue can go right down the stairs!! So please be patient or reserve a table to be on the safe side!!

Lovely little cafe above the outdoor gear store. They offer a variety of yummy, fresh baked goods with a variety of flavors and dietary needs fulfilled. They also offer a menu with choices of simple sandwiches, corn fritters, veggies burgers and salads. Everything we got was soooo good and tasty. It also offers some amazing views of the mountains as well. Definitely worth a stop.

Amazing food! Gourmet tasting and laid out so beautifully! I feel like this is one of the best meals I've eaten in months!!! And the desserts! Loads of cakes and tray bakes to choose from (really like 20 difference choices !) I got the amazing Kiwi sweet corn fritter stack! Full of veg and deliciousness ! Most dishes u can get GF,DF,or V! A lot of the desserts had those Dietary options as well!! Got a wonderful moist and delicious carrot cake with a lemon frosting ! And Eteaket tea!!! Yummy! Wish Aviemore was closer to where I love! I'd be here every weekend! Now to have a little sit before the next walk, because I'm Sooooooo full (did I mention huge portions! There was a smaller option for the stack I would have gotten that in retrospect!) ! Amazing food !!!

Good coffee and a place that actually serves good vegetarian food with more than one vegetable! A welcome break from the limited vegetarian options along the Speyside Way hike. Service is a bit slow, but for us, it was worth the wait. Free wi-fi in some parts of the restaurant. The cafe is upstairs; downstairs is a sporting goods store. Incredible views from the cafe.

Has potential but is let down by exorbitant prices - £5 for 2 pancakes on the kids menu - still looking for a good cafe in Aviemore!

I used to just get the breakfasts as I couldn't be bothered waiting in the queue for lunch, but this time I persevered and wasn't disappointed.

When first passing through, there was hardly any convenient place to stop and enjoy coffee and lunch. I could not believe the change Aviemore has undergone since I have last been there. It is true that the coffee corner is a bit overpriced, but having said this, I would think that with the popularity of Aviemore as a winter and summer activity gateway growing, the prices have been increasing all over as well. The interior is playful and the coffee/tea is served in lovely colorfully patterned cups or mugs. I also ordered a ham and cheese toastie and it was crispy filled with soft cheese. Parking is available for a view cars only. I parked across the road on the road opposite the shopping mall. One toilet, unisex. Menu choices are limited and mainly feature sandwiches, toastie or filled potatoes, some soft and warm drinks. Staff is friendly. In the summer you can enjoy sitting outside. There are plenty of chairs and tables.

If I were to be honest, it's perhaps a wee bit pricey, but they have seasonal trade and they supply decent fresh food. Fine selction of coffee types and a nice clean seating area. I don't necessarily want a membership card, but I'd go back. Staff were extremely nice and friendly too - but they're Scots, from the Highlands, so it's not at all surprising.

The lady working the tables was very friendly however was spread thin. The cafe is small but all the tables were full and she was WORKING. I tend to order and enjoy things which I normally would not make myself. Especially so when I travel. To that end, the full Scottish it is. This is not a light meal. It isn't nuanced. Not delicate. It's a well-crafted left-jab and right-uppercut of heartiness and flavor. I've had blood puddings as bland as can be. But not here. It's seasoned and griddled well. Same can be said for the fried haggis. I frankly love haggis in its most traditional form as plated on Burns' Night, or fried with a nice crunch on a breakfast plate. Everything else from the sausages to mushrooms, to the egg with custardy yolk, it was delicious all around. After my wife and I had a plate each, we walked the city for about 6 miles just to burn off 25% of those calories. It was all worth it. Thanks for a memorable meal and to the lovely ladies who served and tan the establishment, much love to you for the care.

Inverness Coffee Roasting Company - House blend lattes

It's a tiny spot located on the outskirts of town (at least, that's how it felt for us as we were walking around, though I'm sure that's not true...) The three people that we encountered on our two visits were warm and welcoming, and brewed up some dang fine coffee! We stayed in on our first visit. We needed to waste a bit of time before meeting up for our Rabbie's day tour, and we wanted somewhere warm and comfortable to sit for a bit. They have a couch and a couple comfy chairs, as well as a couple of tables for one to lounge at. We settled in on the couch to enjoy our coffee. On our first visit, I got a cortado, knowing that the caffeine would help, and the small serving size wouldn't wreak havoc with my bladder (Rabbie's vans don't have bathrooms on board!) My husband ordered a latte, of course. Both drinks were expertly made and full of flavor. We were offered a bit of butter tablet, but we both declined this round. We got our drinks to go on our second visit (our last day in town). I went with a regular hot chocolate, and my husband got another latte. This time I did take the offered butter tablet, and I'm so glad I did. It somehow cut the sweetness of the cocoa...or maybe the cocoa cut the sweetness of the tablet. I don't know what it was, but they worked surprisingly well together! We'd definitely make it a point to stop in for warm caffeinated drinks if we're lucky enough to visit Inverness in the future.
