Went here for a CT chest scan on Friday, April 17th. I checked in with "Tita" who I'd previously…read morespoken to on the phone, and she is delightful-- cheerful, warm & very professional. Can't say much about the tech or "nurse" who conducted my scan. I had to ask nurse 3 times to move the pillow so it supported my head, not my upper back (which had me gagging). She told me at a certain point she would give me a shot of contrast, and when she did it really HURT -- she is no Phlebotomist! I developed a black & blue mark at the site, and it's still sore four days later! Tech asked if was allergic to iodine, and I didn't really know but told her I was allergic to shrimp (lots of iodine). Tech said they had a "way around that, whatever that meant. Also, I had the impression the tech would be communicating with me throughout the procedure. Instead, there suddenly was this pre-recorded LOUD male voice barking "breath in, hold breath, breath out, breath. . . .";, i.e. no human contact. Thankfully the scan took only 5 minutes -- a LONG 5 minutes! When it ended the tech wheeled me out to the waiting room where my husband was. I was given no piece of paper with what to expect after receiving the scan, especially that contrast dye! I had to do all the post procedure research myself on-line, and that's where I found out why I was so horribly exhausted, stomach aching & dizzy. Making matters worse, I called yesterday to ask who would be reviewing my results there. This receptionist (named Adrienne) bluntly answered "I don't know". I asked her if she could find out, and her answer was "All I can do is print out your results, and you can come pick them up, bring your ID. I just wanted off the call and to see what she printed. Husband stopped there to run in to get them a couple hours later. He forgot her name, but one receptionist was not there (I'm guessing Adrienne). He said to Tita there should be a printout of my CT results for me (he brought my I.D.). Tita looked everywhere for them, there was no printout to be found, so Tita printed them. If it weren't for Tita I don't think I'd have a positive thing to say about Carolinas Imaging Services, Ballantyne!

In February of this year, my husband went in for his annual physical. Shortly afterward, we…read morereceived a bill from LabCorp totaling over $2,400. This was both surprising and concerning, as his insurance policy fully covers one annual physical exam. After speaking with our insurance provider, we were informed that Riverview incorrectly submitted the claim under "weight loss" rather than as a routine physical. We were also told that if Riverview simply refiled the claim correctly, the bill would be fully covered. Since then, my husband and his insurance company have made multiple attempts to contact your office--leaving numerous voicemails and calling repeatedly--but have yet to receive any response. Phone calls go unanswered, and no one has returned any of the messages left. In addition, my husband has visited your office several times in person, each time requesting to speak with someone in billing. The front desk staff have made copies of the invoice and acknowledged the billing error, assuring us that someone from billing would follow up that same day. Unfortunately, no one has ever reached out. Most recently, we received a collection notice from LabCorp. They have kindly granted us an extension, but have made it clear that the billing issue must be corrected by Riverview in order to resolve the matter. We are extremely frustrated and at a loss for what to do next. This billing error is not ours, and yet we are being held financially responsible for it. We cannot afford to pay $2,400 due to a mistake made by your office, nor will we accept damage to our credit over an error that should be straightforward to fix. This is extremely unprofessional.

I am highly disappointed in this place. Dr. Choudury, on two separate occasions, had the…read morereceptionist call me over an hour before my appointment and tell me I just could come in early. Apparently she works somewhere else as well and likes to leave early. Dr. C also spent zero time getting to know me at my first primary care visit. Her bedside manners are abrupt and elitist. I was really stressed that day because of some issues at work. My blood pressure was high. I said normally my BP was low and I was certain this was stress-related. I was told that I might have a heart condition and would need an EKG. I told her that I was convinced that this was caused by horrible stuff at work. I also told her that I needed a new job-not an EKG. Then today I went in to the urgent care side (they have flipped, by the way) and the PA Sara said she couldn't find anything wrong, she'd do a viral test, and asked me if I'd like any other tests done. How am I supposed to know? All I know is that I feel horrible. She then told me that it would take 35-40 minutes and I could wait. I asked her where and she said either in the room or my car. I told her I was not going to take up space in an examination room and I'd wait in my car. I waited over an hour. Nothing. I called them from the parking lot. It went to voicemail. I was too fatigued and achy to go shlepping back inside. So I drove home. It was nearly 2 hours later that I finally got a call back from them. Oh, and by the way, I finally did switch jobs. My BP is back down to 109/70. I think my heart, although broken too many times, is fine.
