I've donated items here on multiple occasions, but one negative interaction with a rude staff member has made me regret given anything to them at all. Over the years I've brought my Mom here since this was her favorite place to go when she lived here over 10 years ago. Over the months of coming the place is going down the tubes. They have this one manager who thinks he is God, he really is unreal. He is abrasive and not Cordial at all!! He needs to find another job if he don't like working here. One time I bought something and returned it, this guy won't work with you AT ALL!!! You need to spend your "credit" not a refund that day! I can't believe if you have proof they owe you why you have to use it that day!! This one guy was so rude and not accommodating at ALL! POWER TRIP! I remember just spending it on stupid things or I would have lost it cause there was nothing I wanted. Over the time coming here they have been putting junk out , items I wouldn't even donate!! Kitchen items that look like they belong in the trash! The prices are getting ridiculous and they have something with odd pricing , like it maybe cost 3.71 they had to get a extra penny. It's the stupidest pricing system I've ever seen. Items That's are donated FREE to them they price higher than it would be new even if the item still has a price tag new it will cost you more!!! We use to find some decent things there but I think they are getting the reputation of being a junk shop. The only reason I even give it a 2 star is I have found neat things in the past. And I am hoping they get rid of this guy who thinks he is great for being a Manager. Read the posted reviews management needs to be changed, I am not the only one. I've talked to employees that say it is a job otherwise they wouldn't be there. In the summer it is unbearable to walk around no ac it is stifling and it makes you feel sick , you can not walk around long before you need to go outside. We are not sure if we will even go back, maybe give it sometime and see if anything changes unless they go out of business first. I love me some Value Village!! At this location, I have found $100 vintage Italian shades for less than a buck, Jimmy Choo heels, and a gold vintage men's watch. This is one of the larger stores in the Charlotte only second to the one in Mooresville. The don't have a public restroom or fitting rooms which cost them a star. They accept credit/debit/cash. Store is well organized, by department but ladies clothing is not sized so you will have to spend some time to find the good stuff. Last Wednesday of every month is 50% off everything! But expect a madhouse and get there early. read more

Attn: Please see my review on "Village Thrift" in Jersey. This place was shockingly meager. As it is part of the "Village" (see above note) chain, I was expecting a terrific selection. Not so. Tons of junk; even the grab bags were pathetic. And packed too heavy- if you even brushed one accidentally, it would come crashing down. I managed to find one clothing item for each child that I am attached to, so that makes a grand total of two pieces of clean, stunning clothing. Ditto for bags, hats, scarves, knickknacks, shoes, and china...nada. I will say that they have great prices, but I cannot say that this place has great picks. read more

This is the absolute worse customer service I've ever had. The store manager Ronald Brooks was rude to me and didn't care about my needs. There merchandise is way over priced. For example. $150 for a basketball jersey that they had donated to them for free, $210 for a surround sound system, $165 for a globe, and the list goes on and on. I'll never shop here anymore. They are supposed to be a thrift store not a greedy superstore. They were selling candy and food out of date. Otherwise their employees and cashier's were very courteous. read more

I LOVE thrift stores and literally go a few times a week but unfortunately on sundays all of my thrift stores are closed. I decided I would go into value village since it was open and I had never been. I was really excited thinking I would fine awesome deals! I was shocked that every piece of clothing was so expensive! I picked up an okay dress and It was $12! I had to look twice. They had a few little lamps, they were about 18.00 a piece. They had four Christmas trees and they were about 100 or more. I couldn't believe that this place was so expensive. It was a big let down! read more

Periodically I go into this thrift shop looking for a good buy. Periodically I find awesome deals. With that being said, the store smells very musty so I don't spend that much time in there. LOVE Value village! You need ample time to look thru all the goodies; especially if you are looking for something in particular. Super neat "junk" section and really nice, gently used clothing. Not all prices are assessed correctly, so I think, but that in it's self isn't enough to keep me from shopping here! Unique selection of dishes, books, dresses, furniture, and toys. I will be reporting this place to the Better Business Bureau. There return policy does not state that you cannot return items during sale days on any of the signs posted. Rude management in Gastonia location. Working on my 3rd trip to return items. Only 7 days to do it. Goodwill will be my thrift store of choice. Value Village is not consumer friendly.. Called management and was on hold for 15 minutes trying to get District Managers telephone number. Never got it. read more
