I have pretty bad social anxiety so every time I come in it takes me a while to work up the courage to ask for anything and I think I might look sketchy because I kinda slink around the store sometimes trying to find something new but even after all of that it feels so nice to be in there. Surrounded by nice people into the same hobbies as me, hearing people talk about awesome cards they pulled, deals being made, just the flip of a binder page makes me feel like I'm wanted there. I love Carolina Comics and the people who run it and I even got my dad to come I to the store every now and then. Oh and the pricing on single cards are pretty fair. There is nothing better than a good local comic book shop. I lived in Norman for 20 years and there were two there when I moved there and only one when I moved, and that comic shop was great (Speeding Bullet). We moved to Midland, TX and there was not a comic book shop anywhere close outside of Entertainmart (which I liked enough). When we moved to Lawton, I saw there was one here too and it is right across from the mall and easy to find. This ended up being a fantastic shop. The owner is always there and he is so friendly and helpful. My son is 9 so he is still learning what he likes and the owner is always helping him find something. When my son pulled out his wallet on our last visit, I said he had to get a comic book if he wanted me to get him a toy and the owner gave him the book at a big discount -- for no reason other than he is a great person. They also have gaming nights and those are fun. Honestly, everything about Carolina Comics is great and they are a perfect example of why everyone should support your local comic book shops. read more

I previously visited the store multiple times to verify the prerelease of an item. When the item was finally released, I stopped by the store to purchase but was informed that it was only available for a select list of people. During the multiple times I visited the store and asked about the item, none of the staff cared to tell me I needed to sign up or bothered to take my info down. The staff was not helpful at all. read more

This is by far, the best comic shop in the state. I would've said "country" but I haven't been to all of them. The staff at this shop are phenomenal. The selection is second to none. If they don't have it, they are more than happy to help you get it. The shop is huge, and very gamer friendly. I Love this shop. It's a true family atmosphere. What a great find! This little shop has an excellent selection of everything. It has a great selection of current comics, back issues, & trade paperbacks. Any and all of your gaming desires are met here. They have the supplies and plenty of room to play. You want figurines, an excellent selection is available. If you need help finding something, they got you covered there too. I've had some bad experiences at other comic/gaming stores and even my home store lately. It really makes yo appreciate a great store when you find it. To top everything off, I found a back issue I've been on the hunt for, for some time now! Go check them out!! read more

Carolina Comics is a fantastic shop. They have a little bit of everything and the customer service is outstanding. I can't only make it up there maybe once every other month if I'm lucky due to not living in Lawton, but the owners always remember me when I walk in. They have back current and back issue comics, Trade Paperbacks, a whole wall dedicated to figures, gaming items and gaming tables. They have all that AND it's NOT cramped! Fantastic "mom and pop" shop. Great selection of Marvel\DC and Indies. Very good customer service and their "pull list" service is the best! Large selection of table top gaming supplies as well as TCP. Even has a pretty good selection of "older" comics. If you're in Lawton, this is the place for anything comic/gaming related. Very Well Stocked Comic Book Store with excellent variety for a small town. Great Gaming on Saturdays. I've been to many Comic Book Stores from Albuquerque NM to New Orleans LA to Arlington TX to Nashville TN to Phoenix AZ to Santa Cruz, CA and this place is just as good as those stores! The owners, Greg and Karen, are very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. The customer service at this establishment today was horrible. I had the gentlemen doing a search for me on the computer. I had a smile on my face and jokingly said he was running DOS; meaning his search engine was slow. This was not a insult towards him and was meant as a conversation piece to pass the time.Things quickly escalated for the worse because he obviously took insult to this and said he was done searching. I strongly encourage people to not go to this establishment because the customer service is sometimes faulty. read more

Carolina Comics is a Family Owned and Family Freindly store that is always a fun place to visit, like "Cheers" for the comic & gaming community! they have a fun selection of comics, gaming and memorabilia. the owners generally know their stuff, and what they don't know, they strive to find out for you. they remember you, your likes and interests, and try and let you know when something new is coming out. i feel relaxed whenever i am in there, and feel comfortable taking my grandchildren in there, knowing it is a friendly place! i have been a customer there for many years and will be one for as long as i live in Lawton :) read more
