My first couple of visits here were fine. I went for a full annual check-up and then came to get a shot every few months for birth control.
For my first visit I met with Carrie, one of the APRNs there. It was for a full annual check up. She's the only professional person that I was able to talk to and ask questions to, aside from the front desk staff. I talked to Carrie about birth control options and decided on the Depo shot.
When I came to the office every three months for my shot, professionalism from the medical staff seriously went down. The first time I got my shot one of the medical assistants was professional, took my vitals, and wanted to make sure if I had any questions that she would be able to answer them. I wished I got her name then, because besides Carrie and the front desk staff she was the only other medical staff who showed professionalism.
When I had to make an appointments for my next shots, it is really hard to talk to someone during normal business hours. For my last appointment, I left a message for a call back, and the doctor who left me a voicemail had to "tell" me how to leave a message the next time I call. Really??
For one of my appointments for my shot, I had it for 8:45 in the morning, and I was the first one there. Others came and got in ahead of me, and I was not taken in until 9:30! By then I was pretty upset about it, was only in the exam room for less than a minute just for my shot, and I don't know why there had to be two other people in the room with the medical assistant who administered my shot. But no apology or anything for why I was seen 45 minutes after my appointment.
Today is my final visit after being treated pretty horribly by the medical assistant, the plus size one with glasses and short light hair, who administered my shot. Front desk staff are friendly and professional as usual, and I was actually seen five minutes before my scheduled appointment. Others who were called in before me were greeted professionally, the medical assistant who called me in didn't seem happy to have me as a patient. She only called out my name, walked me to the exam room without a word, and just asked me which arm I wanted the shot in. Nothing else. And the way she spoke to me sounded like she didn't like her job.
Two stars is very generous even though in reality they deserve just one star for Carrie and the front desk staff. I'm going to check out North Florida ObGyn's other locations instead, hopefully at those locations I'll be treated like a person by medical staff. I won't be coming to this location ever again. read more
