It's been a year since the birth of my baby, and I've debated writing this review for a while. I…read morewant to start by saying that the office staff at Full Circle were wonderful throughout my pregnancy. At every appointment the team was kind, attentive, and caring, and my prenatal experience at the practice itself was positive. Unfortunately, my hospital experience during labor and after delivery is what ultimately led me to leave this review and decide not to return to the practice. During labor, one of the providers, Lauren Hontz, did not make me or my husband feel supported during a very vulnerable and difficult time. I felt pushed toward getting an epidural and later toward a C-section while I was already struggling through labor. The epidural was placed incorrectly (which I understand is hospital staff, not the practice), but the situation overall felt very poorly handled. In addition, my husband felt dismissed during the process. At one point he was essentially pushed to the corner of the room and excluded from what was happening. That lack of support for both of us made an already stressful experience even harder. I do want to add that Dr. Morrow, who ultimately delivered our baby, was absolutely wonderful and made us feel much more at ease with her expertise. Overall, while my prenatal care at the office was great, the labor and delivery experience at the hospital is the reason I have chosen not to return to this practice.

I want to start by saying my midwife, there, is the ONLY reason I put up with this office a second…read moretime. But it's time to review. The rest of this office is rude. Check-in is rude, checkout is even more rude and gives you issues when you try to schedule with a certain person. Even when it's written in your chart that you only see specific people. They will try to bully you into doing everything they want. If you heard this was a crunchy friendly office, that was true about six or seven years ago. But no more. If you try to forgo anything, get ready for a massive fight. We paid THOUSANDS of dollars ($6-7000), in cash, up front for appts and delivery for them to tell me they wouldn't schedule me for more appointments, at 34 weeks, and would fire me unless I got a 3 hour glucose test done...after my one hour came back 2 point too high Something that happened my first pregnancy with them too and came back completely normal for the 3 hr. (No surprise there). When I got there for my appt without having it done they threatened to FIRE me if I didn't do it within 48 hrs. Reluctantly went and got a three hour done and surprise surprise it was normal. They only opened the schedule for the following month on random days close to the new month, so you can never schedule out. They tell you they'll call you when it opens, but they don't. So by the time you go to schedule your preferred time and midwife, it is already booked out. That is if you can get them to answer your phone call. This office caused me way more stress than any part of my pregnancy! My DRs office shouldn't give me constant anxiety. It's not a true midwifery even though they have midwives. It's not really any different than a normal doctors office. Which is probably why they had twice as many midwives, when the DR in charge first took over around 2019 (or whatever), VS now. The other midwives there are cold and dismissive and political. One was Wearing a very politically charged shirt for my very first appointment with her. I refuse to schedule with her after that. If we have more kids we won't be returning here even though I love my midwife. I don't need a DRs office that is constantly threatening to drop me for this and that and stressing me out at least once a month. Never able to schedule me out or get me the appts I need. Midwiferies are supposed to be supportive of alternative care, patient choice and so forth. I'm in control of my healthcare and since they don't like/agree with that, I'll be taking any future business elsewhere. i am apart of a group on Facebook or local moms, and it's a very clean among the patients. Sad because it used to be the best midwifery in Jacksonville.

I had FABEN during my pregnancy and was happy to have found an all women's clinic. I was on a…read morerotation with all the doctors but never ended up seeing Dr. Hicks- so my review can't speak for her. I'll touch on all my interactions with the doctors and then a comment in reply to another review I read on here. Dr. Porter was the doctor who delivered my daughter and she became my primary GYN afterwards. She did an amazing job on my episiotomy and it healed very quickly. She also came by and checked on me every day while I was in recovery (which ended up being 5 days) and she is truly a great doctor. She also inserted my IUD and it was fast, easy and painless and every time I see her I feel extremely comfortable. Dr. Fox is an AWESOME lady. She really is sweet and gave me a big hug every time she saw me. She really is a good listener and truly truly cares about her job and patients (it is so clear from the first time you meet her). Dr. Caccam was nice but sometimes she came off as rushed but she always took the time to listen and let me know I was okay. When I was 12 weeks they found a blood clot near my placenta and she really made me feel SO much better. When I found out I was confused and didn't know what that meant and she explained it to me and told me she wouldn't even have told me unless she was required to because it was nothing to worry over. Even though I still worried- it wasn't hardly as much as it would have been without her pep talk. Dr. Kohaut is also very nice and straight forward as a doctor. I didn't see her as much during my pregnancy as the others. Lindsey Boyd is the midwife- she was great!! Always listens and really does seem to remember all the conversations I had and talked to me about previous problems I was having. I read another review on here about the ultrasound room and having to get undressed inside of it- well I never saw that as a problem because the technicians are always entering information on the computer as you are getting undressed. They have since then put up a partition between the computer and the table so you can get undressed if you want to behind there; HONESTLY if you are at the OB/GYN 9/10 someone will have to see your hoo ha so it shouldn't be a surprised or anything to be ashamed of. And the review about the birth plan: if you want a detailed birth plan to be strictly followed I would have your baby delivered at a birthing center. They will try to accommodate you as best as they can but if there is a request they won't follow it is because it is unsafe for you and your baby! They are very modern doctors so they will want to monitor your contractions and really make sure you are OK. If you have an elaborate birth plan never expect for it to always be followed; just go with the flow because they are professionals and always are there to make the best decision for you and your baby's well being. I have never experienced long wait time there either!

Extremely Unprofessional and Disorganized - Would Not Recommend…read moreI would strongly advise anyone to avoid Faben Obstetrics. Unfortunately, I had one of the most upsetting and disappointing experiences imaginable during what should have been an exciting time in my life. My third visit was the final straw. At my 13-week ultrasound appointment, the front desk staff member told me, "You need to smile more." This comment was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. You never know what someone is dealing with personally, and it is especially unacceptable to say something like this to a pregnant patient. During the ultrasound, the technician, Janet, brought my mother and me into the room. We politely asked if we could record the baby's heartbeat since the father was unable to attend. Janet stated it was against policy, which I accepted, but I asked for clarification. Rather than explaining, she repeatedly interrupted me and became increasingly rude. She then falsely accused me of telling her to "shh," which I absolutely did not do. Without allowing me the opportunity to explain, she escalated the situation and removed me from my own ultrasound appointment. I was left crying, confused, and devastated. Being kicked out of an ultrasound due to a misunderstanding--and without any attempt at resolution--is unacceptable and deeply unprofessional. What should have been a meaningful and emotional moment was completely ruined. From my very first visit at seven weeks pregnant, the environment was cold and unwelcoming. The staff appeared unhappy and disengaged, and no one made any effort to be warm or reassuring. The physician I saw, Jessica Hughes, was the most unfriendly and unapproachable doctor I have ever encountered. As a pregnant patient, I was hoping for a supportive and compassionate experience, but Faben Obstetrics was the complete opposite. During my second visit, I came in specifically for bloodwork. I had confirmed the day prior that the bloodwork would be done in-office and took time off work for the appointment. Upon arrival, I was told they did not have a technician available and was sent 30 minutes away to another location. This was extremely frustrating and upsetting, especially after being explicitly told otherwise. This office is very disorganized, and I was given misinformation multiple times. After these repeated negative experiences, I will never return to Faben Obstetrics. Pregnancy is a vulnerable and emotional time, and no patient should be treated this way. I strongly recommend that others seek care elsewhere where professionalism, compassion, and organization are valued.

Woke up to my dog puking and pooping blood all over the house, and an emergency vet appointment was needed. There was no way I could make a 9am appointment and called to reschedule. Was told that I would be charged $50 for not giving 24 hours' notice. I hadn't even had the appointment for 24 hours, so that is a ridiculous statement. They said I am being charged because I canceled another appointment in 2022....2 years ago. I really enjoyed Dr. Porter, but not this practice. I understand that people are flaky and don't show up for appointments. However, there is also something called common courtesy for those of us who are legitimately dealing with a crisis. I've got a $250 vet bill from yesterday and now another bill for nothing. Update: I received a phone call that the fee was being waived, and the woman even asked how my dog was. Someone also responded to my review, saying they would waive the fee. However, I have now received a 2nd bill for a "no show fee" of $50. And the kicker is there isn't even a phone number for me to contact someone. It is literally 000-000-0000. WOW!

Check in is just like any doctor's office, you sign in and wait to be called up. If they are not busy they will check you in and take your co pay or other form of payment when you sign in. The waiting area is very spacious with some magazines for the old school folks; there is also a small table with puzzles and books for young children to hang out at. Every staff member I've encountered here are very professional and very friendly, from the receptionists to the medical assistants. My first time here I met with Dr. Greenhaw, who took the time to get to know my medical history and what my concerns are when it comes to my health in an informal office meeting. For my first visit though, eventually my primary doctor would be Dr. New, who took the time as well to know a little bit about me. Honestly, I was a bit uncomfortable of having a male doctor as my gynecologist, but Dr. New is very professional and always have a female medical assistant present for all my appointments. I also liked that they are more flexible with hours and will make appointments on the weekends at their other location in Baptist South, which is very convenient for me with my sporadic work schedule. Even if this location is a bit far for you, they have other locations as well, even as far north as Fernadina Beach. I'm glad at this point that I've decided to come to this location from now on after the bad experiences at the Beach Blvd location.
