It was very clean, there is restrooms available (yes there was a line) and plenty of parking, although you may need to wait for a spot. It is a cool park to check out, I've seen pictures of people kayaking, however there are signs that say to stay on the path and not cross over the railing. A nice picnic place perhaps or family photos with the bear. The boulders in the area/park make it a cool photographic area.

I have been to this park many times and we have created our own bocce ball court on the grass and played some fun games. In the summer time, there is access to the lake and they offer a swim beach so one can take a dip in the fresh water of the lake. Plenty of parking, grills for bbq, clean restrooms, and a play ground. I like to come down in the evening and catch a nice sunset and I have heard the views from this park for July 4th are some of the best views in town. Dogs are welcome here too. Overall, I will return here again and again.

The location was amazing right off the lake and right down the street from the village and all the nice restaurants and eateries. The office staff seemed stressed and busy. Service was so-so. The safety video was probably from the 80s? We later got to know Norma who was just a middle man and as professional as she could be. Before we left I guess my husband was told to take a photo of the prop before we left (from the drivers seat) which we later learned was not a good view/angle if there are already damages to it. There are faded signs at the marina shack to ask take photos. TAKE TONS OF PHOTOS! Because they will try to say you damaged the boat upon returning. While other boats were not looked at twice like ours was. There seemed to be conflict or a disagreement with some thing between the staff when we got on but the guy just brushed them off. I wonder now if we weren't supposed to even rent that one. The gauges were broken and the life vests for my kids were stamped with a date of 1989!! And then another stamped of "passed" in 1993. Let's just go with the 10 year lifetime date for fun. We returned and after we raised the prop the staff started acting that there was an issue and we had no clue what was going on. We waited while they looked at the prop and there was fishing line in it. That they took off and dropped back in the water right there. Finally after about 20 minutes they say they need to call the owner. We still don't know why, and they say it's because the prop is bent. We didn't hit any thing at all. They said we could leave and call us later. But we opted to wait. One employee said it was "silver" when we left but was worse when we returned. He was really a jerk the whole time to even the other staff, blaming us. There were three staff members who were nice and professional- I didn't get their names- a guy with an accent was friendly and seemed to be bothered by the other punk, a young female at the dock. I saw another couple going out for a rental to see if they were going to use our boat. I asked him if the boat keeps going out. And his only answer was that it's the renters responsibility to take photos. After the manager called the owner it was finally determined we would not be charged $100 for the prop. The manager on site seemed understanding and mature verses everyone else running the show. As we had a $250 deposit on hold for damages on the rental. I was enjoying our time until the end and will not recommend going here again.

From the gorgeous lake, towering pines, colorful wildflowers and snowcapped mountains, the Good Lord did not skimp when it comes to eye candy. Just this morning I caught a glimpse of three coyotes frolicking in the lake. I saw ducks, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, and a variety of birds all enjoying the beautiful lake they call home. These peaceful surroundings beckon me every time I visit Big Bear. Be sure to visit this glorious path!

4+ My recent visit in early 2/2026 was the first time I've been to Snow Summit in over a decade and…read morethis was my second snowboarding excursion in the last decade as well (so I am/ was a bit rusty) I had a free day during the week and drove up in the morning by myself. There was free parking that was easy to find and gear up at. This particular location doesn't feel large and since it was kind of sunny and a weekday, I think a lot of the trails and some of the lifts were shutdown during my visit. Not a big deal at all since my goal was to avoid large weekend crowds and shake off my personal cobwebs and just enjoy myself at my own speed. Getting my pass ready at the entrance using my phone, emails, and the app was pretty straightforward. Once I got that situated, I was able to start making my way to the first main lift and head up. The crowds during a weekday (early 2/2026) were so small, I was able to take my own chair up without having any traffic behind me. I can't speak for experienced skiers and snowboarders since even a decade ago, I would consider myself a solid intermediate snowboarder (that didn't do any tricks) and I will say it's a solid resort especially what I was looking for. I was able to go down the trails and constantly go up the lifts so quickly and my muscle memory all started coming back albeit with a few minor spills. After a while, I wanted to grab a beer and make my way over to Big Bear since I had the pass that allowed me to experience both parks. Definitely a solid snow resort that isn't too intense and is great for the proximity of people who live in the LA/ IE area.

I also like one of their runs being spacious and wide for ease of maneuverability. Base of the mountain during peak season also have a wide variety of food and beverage options. Their bloody marry are really good here. I would recommend you get one of these for those cold days for a light snack with a kick to move you along until the last run. I have seen the lift ticket system change throughout the decades and I'm glad that they are updating their process to move the lines along. During peak season, there are multiple locations that you can park where shuttles will take you to and from the base. Parking in the main lot does come with a fee. Slow days or weekdays are usually $25 per vehicle. Overall, it's a great place to board with a nice view of the lake. Can't wait to get back on the slope with good snow.

I don't think any political messaging of ANY kind should be used on a tour, especially in a setting where you are totally dependent on the captain or crew. We came to big bear to help get away from all of that and get a break from all the political noise. Feels super unprofessional and alienating to a lot of people. Everyone has a right to their beliefs of course, but I don't want to see it on vacation.
