I have been to this park many times and we have created our own bocce ball court on the grass and played some fun games. In the summer time, there is access to the lake and they offer a swim beach so one can take a dip in the fresh water of the lake. Plenty of parking, grills for bbq, clean restrooms, and a play ground. I like to come down in the evening and catch a nice sunset and I have heard the views from this park for July 4th are some of the best views in town. Dogs are welcome here too. Overall, I will return here again and again.

Had never been to big bear before naturally thought it'd be nice to rent a boat to be on the water…read more Big bear marina was very friendly and helpfully when I inquired about renting a boat for me and my family. After doing some research we decided it'd be a better value to do the big bear lake tour. We had done the waivers online which made check in with Tracey super easy! Our tour was captain Paul which was very informative about big bears rich history. We had our 10 month old baby on the tour which he advised us we'd be getting wet in the front of the boat, we decided to take our changes and stay in front he then offered us some blankets to help keep us and our baby dry and warm which definitely came in handy! If you've never had a big bear lake tour I definitely recommend taking one at big bear Marina definitely learned a lot about big bears history!

Also nice towels and soft comfy pillows and bed spreads, big nice beds for the girls they loved that they had their own room with big nice beds. There was a nice size tv for my husband as well to watch his morning news. We made breakfast and went out for lunch and dinner. The location was amazing right off the lake and right down the street from the village and all the nice restaurants and eateries. Most of all the staff we booked with was amazing so friendly, attentive and informative. Thank you all for the hospitality. We will be back again.

We rented a cruising pontoon about a week before we headed up and made the reservation for 10:30am for 6 people. Little did we know the current heat wave would also be up in the mountains. Saturday morning the power was out all across Big Bear and we arrived right at our reservation time instead of early due to it taking 4 twenty somethings waaaay to long to get ready without power. The parking lot was packed and we got the last 2 parking spots. The staff was helping many large groups inside and we had to wait a bit. No big deal as we knew with the heat everyone would like to be out on the lake on this gorgeous day, and the woman who checked us in was very nice and attentive. Once checked in we were told we had been upgraded to a luxury pontoon due to so many bookings that day and no cruising pontoons available at our check-in time! North Shore Landing for the win! We went down to the dock and met the sweetest young woman working there. She had dark hair and an accent, but I didn't catch her name. She was awesome and funny and the whole family got a kick out of her. She is a superstar and was working her tail off! The pontoon was very nice and clean. Had to use a towel to get some spiderwebs off that had shown up in some different parts on the pontoon, but we were first in the boat that day and I know it is the mountains and the spiders show up every night and make some webs. No big deal and easily rectified. We got underway all in all about 20 minutes after our scheduled time and had a great time for the almost 4 hours we were on the lake! Made many laps around the lake, ate lunch, and had some drinks on the boat. Bummer the stereo and speakers did not work, nor the onboard sink, but we brought our own speaker and still were able to jam out. Everyone loved it and when we came back and the staff were very helpful with my terrible first parking attempt (been many years since I drove a boat) and then helped us all off and our items and took a great picture of all of us. Whether you stroll this path or ride it, you will witness nature at its pinnacle. From the gorgeous lake, towering pines, colorful wildflowers and snowcapped mountains, the Good Lord did not skimp when it comes to eye candy. Just this morning I caught a glimpse of three coyotes frolicking in the lake. I saw ducks, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, and a variety of birds all enjoying the beautiful lake they call home. These peaceful surroundings beckon me every time I visit Big Bear. Be sure to visit this glorious path!

There are signs that say no motorized bikes but that's all I saw on a Saturday afternoon. I'm sure they want to keep it slow so it's safer for all. Since it was full of lots of part time riders and many walkers bike educate could be improved. Overall, it's a very easy path and kids will do just fine but I suggest helmets and bike signals should be reminded and discussed before any ride.

4+ My recent visit in early 2/2026 was the first time I've been to Snow Summit in over a decade and…read morethis was my second snowboarding excursion in the last decade as well (so I am/ was a bit rusty) I had a free day during the week and drove up in the morning by myself. There was free parking that was easy to find and gear up at. This particular location doesn't feel large and since it was kind of sunny and a weekday, I think a lot of the trails and some of the lifts were shutdown during my visit. Not a big deal at all since my goal was to avoid large weekend crowds and shake off my personal cobwebs and just enjoy myself at my own speed. Getting my pass ready at the entrance using my phone, emails, and the app was pretty straightforward. Once I got that situated, I was able to start making my way to the first main lift and head up. The crowds during a weekday (early 2/2026) were so small, I was able to take my own chair up without having any traffic behind me. I can't speak for experienced skiers and snowboarders since even a decade ago, I would consider myself a solid intermediate snowboarder (that didn't do any tricks) and I will say it's a solid resort especially what I was looking for. I was able to go down the trails and constantly go up the lifts so quickly and my muscle memory all started coming back albeit with a few minor spills. After a while, I wanted to grab a beer and make my way over to Big Bear since I had the pass that allowed me to experience both parks. Definitely a solid snow resort that isn't too intense and is great for the proximity of people who live in the LA/ IE area.

I also like one of their runs being spacious and wide for ease of maneuverability. Base of the mountain during peak season also have a wide variety of food and beverage options. Their bloody marry are really good here. I would recommend you get one of these for those cold days for a light snack with a kick to move you along until the last run. I have seen the lift ticket system change throughout the decades and I'm glad that they are updating their process to move the lines along. During peak season, there are multiple locations that you can park where shuttles will take you to and from the base. Parking in the main lot does come with a fee. Slow days or weekdays are usually $25 per vehicle. Overall, it's a great place to board with a nice view of the lake. Can't wait to get back on the slope with good snow.

I don't think any political messaging of ANY kind should be used on a tour, especially in a setting where you are totally dependent on the captain or crew. We came to big bear to help get away from all of that and get a break from all the political noise. Feels super unprofessional and alienating to a lot of people. Everyone has a right to their beliefs of course, but I don't want to see it on vacation.
