The quality of their meat is…read moreconsistently excellent, and their prepared carne asada, pollo asado, and costillas are the reason we keep coming back. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and ready for the grill, which makes entertaining family and friends so much easier. This weekend we had family visiting from out of state, and one thing they always say they miss is the authentic Mexican flavors. As soon as the meat hit the grill, everyone gathered around. The aroma alone had people asking when dinner would be ready, and after the first bite, there wasn't much talking just people going back for seconds. What really stands out about Mr. Meats is the consistency. Every visit, the prepared meats are fresh, high quality, and cook up tender and juicy with incredible flavor. You can tell they care about what they're selling, and it shows in the final product. Whether you're planning a family BBQ, a birthday, or just a relaxing Sunday cookout, Mr. Meats is a place I can confidently recommend.

We recently bought meat expecting the same quality we've always received, but this time it was noticeably lower quality than usual. Since this is on 4th of July my theory is they purchased cheaper meat due to the high demand. My guests ask where I get this meat so they will never buy from here. One of the reasons we've continued to support this business is because they normally have high standards, so this experience was unexpected. We hope this was just a one-time mistake and that they go back to the quality that made us loyal customers in the first place. We wanted to share our experience because consistency is important, especially when customers have trusted your business for years.

My own parents lived around the corner for 30 years before recently moving. My dad and I always used to race here to get our weekend dinner supplies. All in all, this is a great shop. Personable people (family owned for sure), affordable prices, GREAT quality food, clean and full of history. I've even heard from other people who grew up in the area all the way at my work in LA county who rave about that store. My folks may have moved to another state and my father in law is no longer with us, but I for one will keep getting my best meats at this butcher's shop!

The Wagyu was savory without being overly rich, and the chicken breast was lean but still really flavorful. They give you the choice between the regular chicken, which is dark meat and a little more savory, or the chicken breast, which is the leaner option. Personally, I eat a lot of lean meat, so pairing the Wagyu with the chicken breast was perfect for me. I also chose a double order of the macaroni salad for both of my sides instead of the kale salad or the other original side. It was a little extra, but completely worth it. It's hard to find places with really good macaroni salad, and this one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the entire plate. The food came out very quickly, the service was great, and I'll definitely be coming back.

Unfortunately, the very first person to try it was my grandmother, and she immediately said it tasted expired. When I tried it myself, it had a fermented flavor with a bubbly texture, which was very concerning. The next day I returned to the store, and to their credit, they were kind and replaced it without any issues. However, when I opened the replacement container the following day, it also tasted expired. What concerns me the most is that neither container had an expiration date or any "best by" date. For a fresh, prepared food like guacamole, that's a serious food safety concern. There's no way for customers to know how long it has been sitting or whether it's still safe to eat. I appreciate that the employees replaced the product, but receiving a second spoiled container makes me worry that this may be a larger issue. I would strongly recommend avoiding the prepared guacamole and salsas until proper date labeling and quality control are in place. Food safety should always come first.
