It's so hard to find a true butcher shop that carries the same variety of meats and offers to custom butcher/cut to order. Plus they carry Boars Head cold cuts, my family's favorite brand. We ordered a nice variety to try: Beef Tikka Kebab, Lamb Döner Plate, Chicken Döner Plate, and Uzbek Manti. The döner plates were loaded with meat, rice, fries, fresh salad, pickled vegetables, and sauces, making them a seriously filling meal. The Uzbek Manti were steamed dumplings filled with seasoned beef, onion, and garlic and topped with creamy yogurt and a flavorful sauce. Everything we tried was delicious, but the Beef Tikka Kebab was definitely my favorite. The chunks of marinated beef were tender, juicy, nicely grilled, and packed with flavor. Served alongside warm bread, grilled vegetables, and fresh salad, it was simple but done extremely well. If you're traveling through Rogers or Northwest Arkansas and looking for halal food, BEK is absolutely worth checking out. You can buy a 12-13 pound roast and then cut it up into smaller pieces. This works well for those who want to buy in bulk and makes for a great slow cooker pot roast. The other item I'll get is the full tenderloin. This is a big cash outlay, but makes for about 8 filet steaks once you process it. This then results in about a $5-6 filet. Grill that up with a few sides and a glass of wine and you have a first class meal for about $10. The store's business model is to charge you what it costs them plus $10%. I don't know if they actually sell at cost plus 10% but probably do. Just keep this in mind because when you get to the register, everything costs about 13-4% more, the 10% for the store and the rest is sales tax. When you walk in, you will get the feeling that this is a no frills store. It isn't some place where I really want to spend time browsing so I'm mostly in and out. The good deal on meat makes up for the lack of glamour.
