Best Catering For Less…read more If you're looking for good healthy looking food to feed you're people at the next Pachanga, or Fiesta, try All-Occasion. "Banquetes para todo ocasion" You get chicken stuffed with cheese and ham, with steamed rice and veggies, or potato salad, or pasta! They have three types of chicken plates you can choose from all from 5.95 a person, that includes, drink and bread. There is chipotle chicken, serrano chicken, and chicken with mushrooms and gravy! They offer other plate combinations with steak and shrimp for a different price. But chicken is the more economic choice. If you have time, you can go up to the establishment, and the owner will cook you sample plates to help you decide what to buy, and you will get the whole plate for free! He will not even charge you to test! AMAZING. My three aunts and I went here to test the food on a Saturday around lunch time, they were so hungry, they all tried the food, and choose their favorites and had lunch! Not only does this catering get the job done for less, they will deliver to your establishment and sometimes if you're lucky the caterer will stay and help you serve the food. And since he knows all the portions this makes it easy on you. They provide real plating, and nice drinking glasses, along with real silverware. And don't even think about having to wash all those dishes. They pick them up dirty when you are done with your event. So stop thinking chicken with rice and beans, or brisket out of a Styrofoam plate is the way to feed a bunch of hungry people at your next event. Surprise people next time, believe this place is so professional your friends will think you spent so much more $ than you actually did. Your wallet will be singing 'money money money money, MONEY!'

Review: The Joint That Earned Its Texas Top 5 Spot…read more Having heard the buzz--specifically the honor of being named a Top 5 BBQ Joint in Texas by Texas Monthly--we had high expectations stepping into this establishment. From the innovative menu to the extremely friendly and attentive staff, it's clear this isn't just a barbecue pit; it's a culinary experience that absolutely earns its high placement. The staff immediately set the tone, describing all the options in detail and offering continuous check-ins throughout our meal. The indoor seating area is large, though a few outside seats are available. We started with the "Texas Two Step" three-meat deal, adding an extra sausage link and, crucially, making room for dessert. The Meats: Smoke, Glaze, and Innovation The traditional meats were excellent, but the house-made sausages truly shone: * Pork Ribs: These were stellar. They featured a beautiful, sweet glaze and were perfectly tender. The meat offered that ideal balance--it was nearly fall-off-the-bone, yet still maintained a perfect pull. * Brisket: The star of Texas BBQ presented with a nice smoke ring and a good smoke flavor. While the slice was a little dry compared to the ribs, the overall quality and depth of flavor were still quite high. * Jalapeño and Gouda Sausage: An absolute showstopper. Every bite delivered an excellent kick of jalapeño paired with oozing Gouda cheese. It's a must-try for any fan of spicy, cheesy goodness. * Chimi Queso Sausage: We had to sample the in-house, double-ground Chimi Queso link--a testament to their commitment to innovation right on the meat board. Next-Level Sides Forget simple coleslaw and beans; the sides here are complex, delicious, and stand on their own as main attractions: * Pork Belly Fried Rice: This side delivered a nice spice and was packed with satisfying pieces of pork belly. The final flourish was a great sauce topping that added a wonderful depth of flavor to the rice. * Maple Roasted Sriracha Brussels Sprouts: A perfectly executed dish. The Brussels sprouts had a nice char, and the addition of peppers and a subtle maple flavor was simply fabulous. * Roasted Jalapeño Creamed Corn: This was perfectly balanced--nice and spicy but retaining a comforting, slightly creamy texture. Desserts: Over-the-Top Indulgence The dessert menu is where this establishment goes from Top 5 to maybe number one. These aren't just afterthoughts; they are culinary converts: * Honey Butter Cornbread: Oh my. I generally do not like cornbread, but I have been completely converted. It was given to us complimentary, and I can confidently say this is a dessert in its own right--over the top delicious. * Hog Fat Smoked Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie: This was declared the best chocolate chip cookie ever. The "bacon" fat (hog fat) adds an incredible depth of flavor to the already decadent chocolate. This cookie is truly to die for. * Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding: A smooth, comforting finish with doughy and rich chocolaty flavors, topped off with a fantastic caramel topping. Final Verdict The "Texas Monthly Top BBQ awards" got it right. This place is well-placed as a top 5 Texas BBQ restaurant based on its exceptional quality, unique menu selections, and innovative culinary approach. Combine the stellar food with a staff that is genuinely friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, and you have a truly unforgettable dining experience.

Teddys BBQ: A Disappointing Experience Unworthy of the Top 50…read moreTeddys BBQ, a celebrated winner of the "Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Awards," arrived with high expectations that were, unfortunately, decimated by the actual experience. Arriving at 11:10 AM, just after opening, we anticipated fresh, high-quality smoked meats and homemade sides. What we received was an uninspiring meal that leads me to question the legitimacy of its Top 50 status--and frankly, its place in the Top 100. This visit was a letdown, especially compared to the twelve other far superior BBQ joints we tasted this past week. The Meats: Misses and One Minor Hit The foundation of the barbecue here was weak, suggesting corner-cutting or, worse, reheating of old product. * Brisket: This was the biggest disappointment. The slice was terrible--dry, lacking juice, and with a bark that was chewy rather than crisp. It looked and tasted suspiciously like leftovers reheated from the day before, which is unacceptable minutes after opening. * Ribs: Nothing special here. They lacked the depth of smoke flavor and suffered from a distracting, undesirable "hammy" taste. There wasn't much meat on the bone, and the glaze was applied too lightly, failing to add any necessary sweetness or texture. * Jalapeño Cheese Sausage: This was the sole highlight of the meat offerings. It was a nice standard sausage with a good peppery snap to the casing and a satisfying ooze of cheddar cheese. It offered a nice, reliable counterpoint to the lackluster smoked proteins. Failed Opportunity: The Texas Twinkie The infamous Texas Twinkie completely missed the mark. While the basic concept of a bacon-wrapped, cream-cheese-stuffed jalapeño is sound, the execution here was poor. The filling was overwhelmingly cream cheese, which completely sucked the flavor out of the jalapeño and bacon. It was a great opportunity wasted by failing to include a bit of smoked brisket or chicken to give it complexity. Sides: Bland, Bland, Bland The sides tasted uninspired, suggesting they were prepared from a can or box rather than crafted from scratch--an unforgivable sin for a purported Top 50 establishment. * Creamed Corn: It was creamy but utterly bland. It needed significant elevation--perhaps charring the corn kernels or adding some diced jalapeño pieces for heat and brightness. * Mexican Rice: This was mushy and flavorless. It desperately lacked the savory depth and spice expected of Mexican rice. A small addition of pork or brisket trimmings would have provided necessary flavor and prevented it from tasting so generic. Dessert: An Unprofessional Finish The Grapefruit Pie was the final letdown. The filling tasted okay, but the crust was clearly store-bought. To be considered a Texas elite, every component should be homemade and excellent. This felt like an amateur concession. Final Verdict Overall, Teddys BBQ was profoundly uninspiring. Given that we arrived right after opening, expecting the freshest quality, and having recently toured 12 genuinely great BBQ places, this location falls far short. It simply does not belong in the Top 50, or even the Top 100. Teddys has a lot of room for improvement if it wants to justify its ranking.

We enjoyed our lunch here…read more First time at a Teddy's BBQ. You order at the counter as you walk in, then pay at the end of the line, then your food tray handed to you. Two of us shared the following: - Chopped brisket sandwich - 1/2 pound pork ribs (2-bones) - Creamed corn side - Loaded mashed potatoes side - Bread, pickles and onions - Banana pudding - 2 fountain drinks The food was all real good. On the way out, we stopped by the meat smoking area to watch them wrap some briskets. We'd come back to Teddy's.

So if I could give 1/2 stars, this place would get 4 1/2. We were in town and decided to stop by…read morefor breakfast. The place is very busy, but despite that the wait was only 10 minutes at 10:00 am on a Saturday. The hostess and our server were both very friendly. The place advertises that it specializes in home cooked comfort foods so we figured we'd have to see how their biscuits and gravy were. We ordered a 1/2 order and it came with a biscuit split in half and covered with gravy and sausage. The flavor was perfect - it definitely lived up to 'home cooked comfort food'. I ordered an omelette - three cheeses, sausage, bacon and ham with onions, cilantro and jalapeños - which came with refried (black) beans. The omelette was very good - flavorful and fresh. They actually use slices of cheese inside and on top - I've never had an omelette prepared that way but it was very good. When I first tasted the salsa I was not a fan - it was warm and had a different flavor - then I put it on the omelette and - great pairing and great flavor combo. The refried black beans were sadly underwhelming - no real flavor. I know they were homemade but they were missing the flavor that usually comes with refried beans (black or pinto) My wife had the quiche which had onions, peppers, sausage, mushrooms and cheese. It was very good. Even the crust was good. She ordered the breakfast potatoes as the side. The flavor of the potatoes was excellent. Half of them were lightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which were great; the other half were overcooked and became potato chips - good flavor but not a breakfast potato. We will definitely come back to try their lunch food and dessert (we were too full today). They have a good variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items on the menu so there is something for everyone. We were glad we stopped in.
