We were seated in one of the smaller dining rooms with just four tables for two, which made the experience feel intimate and special. The décor was understated, elegant, and timeless, allowing the food to take center stage. Unfortunately, we weren't very hungry that evening, so we ordered less than we normally would have. Even so, every dish was exceptional. The flavors were beautifully balanced, and the sauces in particular were extraordinary. This meal gave me an entirely new appreciation for French cuisine and the artistry behind its classic techniques. This is certainly a special-occasion restaurant, but it's more than just dinner...it's a chance to experience a piece of culinary history. Founded by the legendary Eugénie Brazier, whose influence shaped generations of France's greatest chefs, the restaurant carries on an extraordinary legacy while remaining approachable and gracious. Eugenie Brazier was considered the best chef in Lyon and mentor of so many including Bocuse among others. She opened her restaurant at 26 years of age in 1921. We did not take the long menu as we came late but picked signature dishes from the menu including the artichoke and foie gras signature appetizer. Delicious!! The beef was so tender and perfectly cooked and the quenelle, chef signature dish was to die for. The deserts were equally superb but the stand out was the rhubarb based one. The red burgundy ( Cote de Beaune)was so well picked by the young professional sommelier: Monthelie 1 cru "Les clous" 2020. On the nose ,violets and pepper. Au palais, this dark-fruited wine showed a good balance of tannin and acidity. Juicy red cherry and plum notes linger in the finish. One of our best meals in France . We can't wait to come back !!!

I had some last minute unplanned travel changes that landed me in Lyon for a few days. Being the gastronomic capital of France, I wanted to dine at as many Michelin Star restaurants as I could. As fortune would have it, I only had a day or two in advance, so I was only able to reserve a table at one. That meant I had time to visit a little restaurant my friend told me I absolutely HAD to try. I'm so glad I took his advice. Words can't do justice to how truly incredible it was, but I'll do my best to describe my experience... Atmosphere: 5 The restaurant was very nice but not pretentious. The kind of place you could go to dressed up for a very special occasion or dressed casually for a delicious lunch. I was dressed very casually and felt as welcome as the man dressed to the nines a few tables from me. Service: 5 I don't typically write reviews about service because, frankly, I care much more about the food. However, the service here was so above and beyond excellent, I had to include it. My waiter was not only incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but was genuinely kind. I could really tell how much he cared about me and my experience and how passionate he was about the food he was serving. I had similar positive interactions with the rest of the staff as well.
