Your food comes when it comes (and not necessarily at the same time). The olives that we ordered with the the intent of eating with the Prosciutto de Parma board came at different times. While my husband ate, I waited for my meal--Brussel sprouts. The B.Sprouts were good. We're they $13.99 good? Well, it's an airport so that is expected. We asked for water and was given a glass with no ice. When we asked for a refill, the waitress put a bottle on the table with a $7 price tag on it. When we asked for a refill, she promised (twice) but never filled the glasses. I kinda felt like she thought if she waited us out, we would give up and drink the $7 tepid water. I eventually went to the bar and asked the bartender for a glass. She agreed and brought us a refill. And WHILE we are still seated at the table, the bartender/waitress starts sloshing a RAG on the table...yes, the SAME table we are presently sitting at! People say New Yorkers are rude. And that isn't a fair assumption, but they live up to that stereotype at this spot. For $13 you can go right next door and get a slice of pizza, a bag of Doritos and a Pepsi. We paid $41 for what was essentially just appetizers--I guess they threw in the indifference and lackluster personality for free.

Then when you're seated you discover there's little service, just these sturdy tablets to order your meal. It had technology that if you looked away for a moment it would go to sleep like your friend who drank too much and then started snoring on your dorm floor. Start over. Amici's burger, overcooked and overpriced. Everything was overpriced from the rigatoni bolognese to the arancini disguised as meatballs. If I paid an extra 18% for dining at a booth on top of the tip, I'll be angry. The one thing that was good was the Manhattan: Strong, icy, toast to my dad who made them once a month at dinner.

For a really cheap price, your custom ordered pasta will be made right in front of you, along with two loaves of garlic bread. Yes, loaves. This more than enough food for one person, perfect for splitting. But if you're feeling ambitious, a solo flyer could definitely do some damage here. It was decently flavored, nice garlic kicks in the Alfredo, and the chicken tasted fresh and grilled, rather than pressed. I would go here again!

Because a starving person would eat literally ANYTHING. and that's what I did. I ate crap. Garlic and oil pasta is easy. You take the oil, fry the garlic until toasty and then add the pasta. Simple. But apparently not simple enough for these folks. Or maybe he was just mad at me for asking him to make it over because I saw him dump copious amounts of cheese on top (and that ladies and gentlemen is what they rely on to flavor this dish.) Yet again ...I ate it; raw jar garlic, five leaves of spinach and all. I guess I deserved this. Not a single restaurant here has heard of a vegan. I should have bought my own food. When we know better, we should do better. This is after all just an airport.
