Kate and Michael MacGill are in the Elite League of Real Estate Agents. In the last seven years, I…read morehave moved six times. I moved from Indiana to Massachusetts to Vermont and now back to Indiana. My wife and I have dealt with a number of Realtors along the way and know what it takes to be bad, good, great, and "elite." This team is definitely elite. We have used them to both buy and sell and they are excellent at both.
What makes them this great... Read on...
* First - passion. This team is passionate about what they do. If your Realtor is not passionate, then find someone else - find this team!
* They are responsive. If you call, text or email, they will respond back - and respond quickly. We never wondered if they got our communication, we knew they did because they replied. They will use any mode of communication that works for you (not what works for them - but for you!). They let you know that you are their client, they are looking for your best interest and you are very important to them.
* They are timely, they listen and know what the client is looking for. When we were buying, being timely was extremely important. Houses were flying off the market as soon as they would come on. By the time you saw them on Zillow, it may be too late - they'd show up on Zillow as pending. We worked mostly with Kate and she would call us "a house that fits you is coming on the market, do you want to see it? Yes... great, I'll get you in." She knew what we wanted, was always looking for a match and when one was found, we were in. We were first in on many houses.
* They are intimate with the Indianapolis and surrounding neighborhoods. They have lived in Indianapolis for ... I don't know how long, but for a long time. They know the neighborhoods intimately. If you ask a question, they know the answer. In the rare case that they don't know the answer, the'll know it quickly - most likely within minutes.
* Network - thiers is huge. They know other Realtors and have good relationships with them. That is great. But additionally, they know partners - inspectors, appraisers, lenders, insurance, electricians, plumbers, cleaners, lawn service, hvac, and any other contractor / service provider you would need. "I like this house, but I would need to move that wall..." "I know a guy who can help you." We've met / used a number of these people in her network - they are good. If they aren't good, she won't suggest them.
* They get things done. Kate doesn't mess around and wait. She listens, hears a need and gets it taken care of. For example. She asked, "do you want this house?" We gave her a pause and then said, "Yes. But we are concerned about {some plumbing thing}. We don't know if it is serious or nothing to worry about. If it were something not to worry about, we'd want this house in a heartbeat." Kate pics up her phone, "Hello, this is Kate MacGill, we need your help...." Five minutes later, we have a meeting scheduled for later that day with a plumber who gives us a free estimate on the issue and lets us know everything about it.
* They communicate and explain. All along the way when buying and selling, there are steps to take. They let you know what is going on and why it is happening. This type of communication is very important to us and lets us know they have our back.
* Not Pushy. Never, not once, did I ever feel pressured into making a decision. It was always positive communication from this team. If it is not right for you, for what ever reason, they don't want you to go forward. They will work with you to get you in the right house or to sell at the right price. If you want advice, ask. But, it is clear that the decision is yours and they will back you on it.
