    Lynn Animal Hospital

Absolutely terrible experience. Avoid this hospital. I…read morebrought my cat to Lynn Animal Hospital over several days, and their veterinarian completely missed a very common and life-threatening urinary obstruction. I even pointed out a large, firm mass I could feel in my cat's abdomen, yet they dismissed it, took an X-ray, and still failed to identify the problem. Instead, they incorrectly treated him for "air in the stomach," performed unnecessary procedures, and told me to "wait until the next day" while my cat was rapidly declining. If I had followed their advice, my cat would have died. When I rushed him to VEG Emergency Clinic, the doctors were shocked that Lynn had not identified the problem -- they said it was obvious and should have been caught immediately by any qualified vet. Because of Lynn's negligence, my cat suffered for days and came extremely close to dying. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Please take your pets elsewhere.

I rarely write reviews, but I've been taking my two dogs here for about a year now. I've had some…read moregood experiences and some not great experiences - which is why this review is 4 stars and not 5. If it were for today's visit only, which is what has prompted me to write this review, it would be 5. This is going to be long, but that's only because in the past, I desperately have searched for reviews for a vet for my fear aggressive dog, hoping to find in-depth ones like this. Summary at the bottom for those who may not want to read a novel. Starting with the not so great: The not great experiences were with doctors no longer with the practice. One of them told me in the waiting room that my dog "probably had cancer" based ONLY on a visual of his urine sample. No objective information, he had never seen this dog (he saw my other dog the week prior and came off as arrogant then too), and he wasn't even our assigned doctor that day... So that was unprofessional and jarring. He didn't have cancer, by the way. The other so-so experience was with a different doctor, who was absolutely an improvement from the above experience, but ended up being underwhelming. My dog has fear aggression, and while I try my best to medicate him before appointments and always advocate that he needs a muzzle, at one point he had an ultrasound which I could obviously not be present for. I think he came out of the anesthesia aggressive and spooked this doctor, who never really treated him the same after that. Following this, he was quick, brief, a bit dismissive of some concerning test results, and seemed to want my dog in and out. Not awful, but not great either. Now for today, which again, this review would be 5 stars if it were only for today: The new vet to the practice, Dr. Briscoe, was LOVELY with my dog. I've never seen him so calm in an appointment. She wasn't dismissive of my concerns, didn't give me the feeling that she wanted him in and out, and actually took the time to pet him, make him comfortable, give him treats, and even remark about how sweet and soft he was. It's been years since any vet has been so patient and treated him so well. I don't remember the technicians name (maybe it was Jasmin?) but she was amazing with him too. I want to express my appreciation, as the vet is always a stressful experience for us, and today was truly an incredible experience relative to what we've had in the past, both at Lynn and other past vets as well. Overall (TL;DR) I've had some so-so experiences with doctors here that are no longer with the practice, but overall it's been a solid vet for us for the past year. The vet that's new to the practice was extremely patient with me and my fear aggressive senior dog, and it meant a lot to me.

The layout was great and comfortable with lots of space. Our tech was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Nichols came in sat on the floor and listened closely to everything we had to say and then explained all the next steps. Then came getting the vaccines needed and the explanation of follow ups. It was a great first experience and would recommend Dr Nichols and the practice.

That's…read morewhy it's disappointing to see some recent changes that feel less focused on clients and more on business decisions. Since the practice was sold, one change in particular has made things unnecessarily difficult: prescriptions for outside pharmacies can no longer be sent electronically. I confirmed with my pharmacist at Chewy that they are willing and able to receive electronic prescriptions, but District Vet will not send them. Instead, clients now have to request a written prescription and then coordinate getting it to the pharmacy themselves. In a time when digital prescribing is standard--and when people are already dealing with rising costs and busy schedules--this extra step feels avoidable and inconvenient. It's hard not to feel like this policy discourages clients from using more affordable or preferred outside pharmacy options. I understand that change is part of any business, but it's disappointing when those changes make things harder for long-time clients. I hope the practice reconsiders policies like this and continues to prioritize the convenience and trust of the pet owners who have supported them for years. Spread the word and provide District Vet your feedback on this change.

From the moment we walked into Brentwood Animal Hospital, everything felt different. Dr. Manzoor and the entire team treated Racer - the bestest boy cat - with extraordinary kindness and meticulous attention to detail. They didn't rush. They didn't dismiss concerns. They took the time to explain every aspect of his surgery and carefully walked me through his aftercare plan. That level of communication matters more than people realize. What truly touched my heart was the way the staff refers to me as "Racer's mom." It may seem like a small gesture, but it reflects something much bigger: a deep respect for the bond between pet and human. They see him as family, and they see me as part of his care team. Racer received loving, thoughtful, and highly competent care. For the first time since losing Queenie, I felt a genuine sense of safety inside a veterinary office again. If you are looking for a veterinary team that combines medical excellence with compassion and humanity, Brentwood Animal Hospital--and especially Dr. Manzoor--have my deepest gratitude and highest recommendation. Forever thankful, Dr. Sutton, Law Professor

The exam rooms are filthy. I was placed in an exam room with cat nail clippings on the table. The doctor doesn't take you back in to the exam room to have a conversation about your dog. They discuss all business in the waiting room in front of other patrons. You're not even with your dog while they are examining them. Who knows what they are doing. This is not professional and little sketchy. The exam fee is less than other local vets, but once you get there, you'll see why. Avoid at ALL costs.

I'm very disappointed with my experience at Prince George's Animal Hospital after months of care…read morefor my cat. The veterinarians were not the main issue. The problems were lack of transparency, poor communication, and unprofessional handling of concerns. I have no issue spending money to ensure my pet receives the best care -- the issue was transparency, especially after discovering medications were priced at approximately three times market value without clear disclosure. Verbal post-care instructions also did not consistently match written discharge notes, creating confusion. When I raised legitimate concerns, I was met with defensive reactions from front staff and management, which escalated into a tense one-on-one meeting that required me to take time off work. Communication through the client app was often delayed, despite staff insisting it be used as the primary contact method. Obtaining complete medical records was also unnecessarily difficult. Most disappointing was receiving a condescending email suggesting discontinuation of services, despite the fact that I had already transferred my cat's care due to these unresolved issues. After months of transparency issues, I'm not sure what made them think I would continue using them as my pet's primary provider anyway -- that decision had already been made. If the practice responds to this review, readers should view that response critically, as it does not reflect the months-long experience that led to this outcome. No pet owner should have to go through this simply to ensure proper care for their animal.
