I recommend this occupational center to everyone who is thinking of a career change - they have so many interesting courses, if I lived closer, I would take all of them,- their classes are very affordable and designed to take you as a complete beginner and help you get knowledge and hands on experience, so after graduating you will quickly find a job. I took a test back in September and was waiting for the November waitlist. I eventually did get a call/email that were was spots open and you must register at 8am on a specific day. I didn't follow through as I decided on another school but now I constantly get spam calls from this school. Even when blocked, I get calls from different numbers from this school.

We barely got a syllabus for term two before she went out on medical leave. My clinical instructors Mr. Dexter, Mr. Nino, Ms. Val and Ms. Donna was wonderful always helping us and making sure we understood our skills. If you needed to speak with any one in the office Ms. Tameeka, Ms. Ethel, and Mr. Noel was always accommodating and will resolve your issues as soon as possible. When it comes to talking with Dr. Arvella , honey be prepared to have thick skin because she come off very abrasive, rude, condescending and didn't care what you are going through. Yes I didn't make it pass term two however speaking with her about trying to reapply back into the program she said that she will have to feel it's in her best interest for her to allow me back into the program and not wasting her time. How the curriculum is set up. I don't care how long you study when it comes to the HESI specially dosage calculations no one really taught us the formulas and which formulas to use for different dosage. On top of that they only gave us a week in between to study for the next HESI with 12 additional assignments that is due that same week. Yes this is an accelerated program but you not giving your students the proper information to succeed. Arvella doesn't care about issue that arise in the classroom or how we feel like we are not learning from our theory instructor. She will tell you that she has personal hand picked her instructors. She hand picked them alright the new clinical instructor Mr. Muhammad kept making sexual comments towards the class when we were doing injections on an hot dog. Saying and I quote "don't put it in your mouths" and laughing about it. Where you have other instructor Mr. Victor getting dropped off by a student. Mind you when you sign up for the program you sign a contract stating no fraternizing with instructors while in school. So I impale Dr. Arvella to ask Mr. Victor about the student who drive the pink Mercedes G wagon who he has been seen having a disagreement with during clinicals. I will not be reapplying to this school and I'm not going to allow someone to dictate when I can come back and be force to retake term one to prove that I'm worthy of her time. But it is okay for a student to be out on medical for 3 weeks and have to option to go back to the term she didn't complete before her medical leave or start the next term. Dr. Arvella plays favoritism with students. Please deeply think about signing up for this college and this location. This school needs to be audit by the board of education.

I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Here's the same version with favoritism added:…read more I am writing anonymously as a recent CNA student and state skills test candidate at Los Angeles Career College. My California CNA skills exam was confirmed in the official TMU/Headmaster system, but days before the test the school emailed and told me it was cancelled and that it "would not take place" if I showed up. TMU told me my exam was still scheduled and even had to call the school to remind them they were required to test me. On test day there were other students testing at the site, even though the administrator had told me there was no exam and that exams would no longer be offered there, which left me feeling singled out and misled. Throughout the program, it often felt like some students received more support and opportunities than others, which gave me the impression of favoritism rather than equal treatment. The school promotes itself as professional and student‑focused, but the way my exam was handled did not feel fair or transparent. I recommend future students closely monitor their TMU account, save all confirmations, and be ready to advocate for themselves.

Ever since I found them back in 2023, I have been so fortunate to find such a good group of very passionate, knowledgeable, and funny instructors for all my class needs. Both Mike (my pervious instructor) and Robert (my most recent instructor) are great at teaching and help us with not only knowing the knowledge material, BUT also applying that knowledge material to the real world. I always feel so much better and more capable to handle BLS & ACLS/PALS codes after each class! Now, time for the logistics. Parking is either to the back of the building, or on the streets. Very spacious street parking. Class sizes are usually smaller, with a MAX capacity of 10-12 students, depending on sign-ups. CPR mannequins (both adult/child and newborn infants) are in clean, intact, and great for practicing CPR. The adult/child CPR has LED lights to indicate good compression depth and rates. Class structure has (2) 10-15 minutes breaks, and the testing material at the end with (MegaCodes & official test). MegaCodes are scary, but Robert and Mike both made the environment feel safe to help calm down major nerves. Restrooms are located to the left of the classrooms. Local area has great food! Past the 405 freeway into Mission Hills, there is the Olivo at Mission Hills! Great food options, and quick enough for you to get a bite if you decide to do the PALS/ACLS renewal all on the same day haha! Not to far of a drive. Thank you again to Mike & Robert for the humor, fun, and instilling confidence and knowledge in me during my course! I appreciate you greatly!

He responds quickly and is genuinely willing to answer any questions. I was hesitant at first because of the parking situation, the price (WOW SO AFFORDABLE?!), and the location, but the program is on the state-approved list. After the class ended on the last day, we were given the exam links right away and were able to test without delays. Albert knows phlebotomy inside and out, and he teaches in a very compressed, straightforward way. Since I'm already in the medical field, a lot of the material felt familiar, and many of my classmates also had prior medical experience. What I appreciated most is that Albert wastes no time--he's very goal-oriented and focused on getting you trained, certified, and ready to move forward. You could tell he wants you to succeed! Before enrolling, I visited the location myself so I could understand the parking situation. It's a shared space, which is normal for smaller medical training programs. Schedule an appointment with Albert if you want to see the class! What matters most is that the school is state-approved and gives you what you need for the price, the tools, and the time commitment. Overall, I'm really glad I chose this program. It was efficient, straightforward, and didn't waste months of my time the way a community college phlebotomy course would have.
