Because of this LVN program I was able to use it as a stepping stone and got into an RN program with a concurrent BSN partnership. I've used all my skills and notes that I've learned in the LVN program and my current RN program has been a breeze thanks to how much the LVN program prepared me. I'm honestly going to be forever grateful. I love how affordable this program was and how it was not a financial burden on me compared to other programs. A lot of people are hesitant of continuing on their education due to the lack of money (this should not be a factor on who gets an education and who doesn't) but this is a great program to open doors to many of us including myself to change our lives for the better !!! I passed my NCLEX 1st try and got an amazing job that I love all thanks to the amazing teachers that made up the LVN program.

I took the orientation class a few months prior, and the staff is very kind and welcoming. The students are also just as friendly, and you get to know them and socialize a lot in class. The campus has that commuter school feel, and half of it is in bungalows. I'd highly recommend NVOC to any student, especially those coming back to school after a long break. They recently brought back the pharmacy technician program, and have a bunch of other trades. I like how it's connected to other schools in the area under LAUSD. So far, it's been a very positive experience, and can't wait to be an official student.

I recommend this occupational center to everyone who is thinking of a career change - they have so many interesting courses, if I lived closer, I would take all of them,- their classes are very affordable and designed to take you as a complete beginner and help you get knowledge and hands on experience, so after graduating you will quickly find a job. After you finish your tests, for certain programs you are put onto a waitlist and they tell you they will call or email you if there are spots open. I took a test back in September and was waiting for the November waitlist. I eventually did get a call/email that were was spots open and you must register at 8am on a specific day. I didn't follow through as I decided on another school but now I constantly get spam calls from this school. Even when blocked, I get calls from different numbers from this school.

He responds quickly and is genuinely willing to answer any questions. I was hesitant at first because of the parking situation, the price (WOW SO AFFORDABLE?!), and the location, but the program is on the state-approved list. After the class ended on the last day, we were given the exam links right away and were able to test without delays. Albert knows phlebotomy inside and out, and he teaches in a very compressed, straightforward way. Since I'm already in the medical field, a lot of the material felt familiar, and many of my classmates also had prior medical experience. What I appreciated most is that Albert wastes no time--he's very goal-oriented and focused on getting you trained, certified, and ready to move forward. You could tell he wants you to succeed! Before enrolling, I visited the location myself so I could understand the parking situation. It's a shared space, which is normal for smaller medical training programs. Schedule an appointment with Albert if you want to see the class! What matters most is that the school is state-approved and gives you what you need for the price, the tools, and the time commitment. Overall, I'm really glad I chose this program. It was efficient, straightforward, and didn't waste months of my time the way a community college phlebotomy course would have. It was absolutely the right choice for me.

I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Here's the same version with favoritism added:…read more I am writing anonymously as a recent CNA student and state skills test candidate at Los Angeles Career College. My California CNA skills exam was confirmed in the official TMU/Headmaster system, but days before the test the school emailed and told me it was cancelled and that it "would not take place" if I showed up. TMU told me my exam was still scheduled and even had to call the school to remind them they were required to test me. On test day there were other students testing at the site, even though the administrator had told me there was no exam and that exams would no longer be offered there, which left me feeling singled out and misled. Throughout the program, it often felt like some students received more support and opportunities than others, which gave me the impression of favoritism rather than equal treatment. The school promotes itself as professional and student‑focused, but the way my exam was handled did not feel fair or transparent. I recommend future students closely monitor their TMU account, save all confirmations, and be ready to advocate for themselves.

Ever since I found them back in 2023, I have been so fortunate to find such a good group of very passionate, knowledgeable, and funny instructors for all my class needs. Both Mike (my pervious instructor) and Robert (my most recent instructor) are great at teaching and help us with not only knowing the knowledge material, BUT also applying that knowledge material to the real world. I always feel so much better and more capable to handle BLS & ACLS/PALS codes after each class! Now, time for the logistics. Parking is either to the back of the building, or on the streets. Very spacious street parking. Class sizes are usually smaller, with a MAX capacity of 10-12 students, depending on sign-ups. CPR mannequins (both adult/child and newborn infants) are in clean, intact, and great for practicing CPR. The adult/child CPR has LED lights to indicate good compression depth and rates. Class structure has (2) 10-15 minutes breaks, and the testing material at the end with (MegaCodes & official test). MegaCodes are scary, but Robert and Mike both made the environment feel safe to help calm down major nerves. Restrooms are located to the left of the classrooms. Local area has great food! Past the 405 freeway into Mission Hills, there is the Olivo at Mission Hills! Great food options, and quick enough for you to get a bite if you decide to do the PALS/ACLS renewal all on the same day haha! Not to far of a drive. Thank you again to Mike & Robert for the humor, fun, and instilling confidence and knowledge in me during my course! I appreciate you greatly!
