the teachers and staff at the actual school are amazing but im giving 2 stars because I have been trying to consistently get my externship site outside of the ones offered approved and nobody has been helpful. It has been over a year since I finished the class and passed the state exam, but I have sent emails called and texted the externship coordinators with absolutely no responses back nobody emails me back nobody reaches out to me and its honestly so ridiculous and unprofessional. The class was great but I regret choosing this school to get my phlebotomy license specifically for this reason. UPDATE; down to 1 star. it has been 5 months since I wrote this review and I have been contacting the number that was given in the response with again no answer. It is absolutely ridiculous that I cannot even get an email or call back. It is almost time for me to renew my phlebotomy license when I have not even worked as a phlebotomist because of this staff's incompetence. I give this place 3 stars due to the fact that they lag it with giving you your externship site. My phlebotomy instructor Mark was great. He would let us practice drawing him, would help us review for our tests, answer any questions we had and was always helping us in anyway possible. I passed my state licensing exam 1 week after finishing the class and I have to thank him for it. On the other hand the externship coordinators are unprofessional. They don't answer calls or messages. They constantly give excuses as to why they don't have a site yet. I finished my class and passed my test 3 months ago and still don't have an externship site. read more

Update: Finished my classes over a year ago and never graduated because they never assigned me to an externship site. I thought contacting the Director of Career Services and filing a complaint to the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education would make them take me seriously but I guess not! Last class was on 5/16 and was told externships would start within 2 weeks. As of today, I have completed 0/80 hours. On the school portal, my externship dates kept changing: 5/14-6/3 to 5/14-7/14 to 5/14-11/11. No one reached out to me regarding these changes or to even update me on any progress, success or fail, with any site. Not sure if this has anything to do with an issue I brought up regarding the lack of masks, which the CCMA teacher took very personally and led her to antagonize me in class. Also, later found out that the career services specialist said I had "transportation issues", which is not true at all and I have no idea where she got that impression from. Wasted 11 weeks in class, 2 weeks of studying for the NHA exam, 3 hours of taking the NHA exam, and $2,000. They ask students to write reviews in exchange for a $5 Starbucks gift card. read more

Unfortunately I can't give a zero star review. This is a great place to waste your money. Thousands of dollars for a phlebotomy license that can take upwards of a year to finally receive. I don't know, I haven't received mine yet. Sometimes the school forgets about the student, so they are waiting wondering why the ball is not rolling. The class is took so long in fact that I'm already in school to become an RN, making the license useless to me if I do receive it. Speaking from experience. My experience with US colleges Van Nuys has been OK. I'm only one week away from finishing up and receiving my certificate. First, I want to say that the CMA instructor is great. She can be a little stern when needed, but is overall approachable and funny. I love that you can text her anytime and she will respond within a reasonable time. Everything she teaches you in class are things you will be required to know at externship and any future MA job. The campus is small and parking is a headache. The career services advisors quit so often, every time I get assigned a new person to help me, it feels like I'm starting from scratch. The school makes it near impossible to get externship completed. BUT if you stay on top of it, and nag the necessary people, it's all possible. It's an ok school if you're on a budget or live near by. read more

My phlebotomy course experience was by far the worst! The class itself was fine. To get scheduled for extenship is unbelievable. It took me 2 months to get place back into the course, I had reached out to everyone I possibly could I couldn't get a response from anyone from my campus, I only had help from 1 nice lady by the name of Brenda who wasn't even from the campus I took the course at. She offered me an externship that was almost 2hrs away from where I live. I was definitely given the run around and I continue to reach out to the phlebotomy extenship coordinator from Van Nuys campus it takes her a week to respond to me and never has an answer for me just "It's a process". I was then told that the students who were just completing the course were #1 priority for externship being that I finished the course in February, but you can take my money? I am still paying the tuition and they have no problem deducting that from my bank account. I have been trying to get scheduled since the end of July. This has been the worst experience I have missed several job opportunities due to this. read more

I am what you might call a "mature" student. I was looking for a training program that would be fast and affordable. During COVID, I had time on my hands, and my daughter was also looking to enter the medical field, so we ended up doing the Clinical Medical Assistant program together. Other types of Medical Assistant programs take up to 10 months and cost a bundle, this one takes between 6 and 11 weeks. This gives you all the back office skills, and that is what I wanted. I couldn't be more thrilled with my instructor, and the office staff at this location. They are fun, supportive, flexible, and all around amazing. We are about halfway through the program, and my daughter will be doing a Phlebotomy course once we're done. I can't say enough good things about this place. read more

I started the phlebotomy class this year , I was very nervous about it but, once meeting Ernesto Mejinez he helped me with that and talked to me about the course and answered the questions I had. The staff there are very nice and so kind ! As for the course it was a very fast pace and very easy. The teacher is there every step and if you have questions she'll answer they even do lab hours so if you need it it's there. Last week I passed my state exam, so thank you to Ernie and the staff. My Teacher was Mr. Mike Brothers. I started school last year and I do not regret it one bit thanks to him! Mike was seriously the best ever. I have always hated school because I always felt like teachers didn't understood me etc. I went to school with my sister and Mike really taught us what we know now. He really believes in you and I still stay in contact with him because I know everything thanks to him!!! Such an unorganized school. Feels that all they want to do is take your money and that's it. They say they offer help but they really don't. No communication with students from Nick, Cheyenne, and Mike. Completed the course and finished my externship with amazing feedback so where's my certification? Been waiting 2 months for it and still don't have it. Been calling every week to check my update and all they say "it should be on the way" It's not until I speak to the Campus Coordinator that he tells me they put in the wrong information for my account and couldn't get my certificate. Now that they finally put the correct information, I have to wait ANOTHER 6-8 weeks for my certificate. How inconvenient is that? Of all the times I've been calling no one has communicated with me and Owned up to the mistake of inputting the wrong information and let me know. I understand mistakes happen but why is no one contacting me? My experience here has been beyond stressful and very unorganized. read more

They're a good school to go to for the CNA program and they do their best to help you out with achieving your CNA certification/license.

The school seemed scary at first, but it really is a diamond in the rough. Most programs are expensive and this one is under $4,000 (some colleges are $20,000+). The school has a full staff that will assist you at every step of the way. The programs are set up for you to be hands-on and the student/graduate appreciation is ideal. I have read all these reviews on google and yelp, I don't understand what people expect from a school. I enrolled in this school to become a licensed Phlebotomist. Ernie was great at explaining the upfront cost and the expectations. Just like any other school, career or anything else you do in life; you have to want it and put in the work to get it. Things are not just handed to you. The staff at the Van Nuys US Colleges are amazing. They are supportive, informative, helpful, and knowledgeable. My instructor, Natalie was/is always there to support me and encourage me. Anytime I called, or emailed her she was there to answer my concerns and help me get through my fears. I took my NHA exam 3 weeks after finishing my class, I passed with flying colors. I reached out to the Cheyenne to help me with my resume, and with open arms, she took me in and helped me create the most amazing cover letter and resume. I finished my externship and I was offered a job through my externship. It took me less then 3 months to do this. If you want it bad enough you can accomplish anything, specially with the help of these three amazing staff. Ok so let me start off by saying this, like many people I saw this school and thought it was joke. It's on the second floor of a small strip mall, and the school it's self is not very big. So needless to say I was extremely skeptical. Buttttt, I was wrong. Ernie and the rest of the staff help get started and guided me every step of the way, when we started. Our orientation Ms.Kim was amazing, she broke down the class for us (CNA) and was very inspirational. We did our theory via zoom which was fine and helpful. But, the real fun started when we got to the classroom for skills. Ms green was strict but helpful. She taught us everything that was going to be on our state exam. When it came down to the state exam it was just like she said, and I passed and now I'm working all in less then 5 months. What am I trying to say with all this. Yea you can listen to all the bad reviews and get turned off by the idea of coming here. But, all the school have bad reviews it all depends on you and what you want out it. I went to learn and get a head in life not full of around. So if you are serious about getting a great job as a CNA then come to us colleges and give it a try. As for me the only thing I wish the school was a LVN program cause I would go back in a heart beat, but that is my next step becoming a LVN.
