I have been getting pizza here for years and was always happy until tonight. Picked up a cold, dry, rubbery, inedible pizza. I called them right away and the girl on the phone asked what they could do to fix it. Told her to make a better one or give me my money back. She had a conversation with the manager, which I could hear, who said "I've given out so many refunds, I can't do any more" so they said too bad. Can't do anything about it! Seriously?! MAKE A BETTER PIZZA!!! I will never order from them again. Ever. Pizza is in the trash, and I'm not only out of my money but now have to order pizza somewhere else. UNACCEPTABLE. read more

With our order was barbecued wings. They came naked with only a side of sauce. We called to mention to them of their error as they were supposed to be tossed. Lady was very nice and offered to send new order but that it would take some time (1/2hr), which was Totally acceptable on our part. Obviously it would take time. Next thing we know (manager?) or someone one else CALLS US BACK and says we will have to repay for a brand new order!! Say what?!! We said we shouldn't have to pay again and Then he proceeds to say Fu$k you, you will! Are you kidding me!! How rude. Even if he didn't agree with what transpired he should have NEVER EVER called us!! Not to mention cursing like that. What a shame and on Christmas Eve no less. I had a similar experience below bit with a weird twist- we went in wearing masks because I don't know if we are carriers for Covid- nobody does! I do it to take care of YOU people! Anyway, the woman working there was off-putting, surly and snippy with us. She was preparing food with no mask and no gloves. We almost didn't come back to pick up our food. I actually asked other half if Taco Bell was sounding like a good option, instead. We ordered 2 hot (thank goodness) subs and some Paesano sticks.. When we returned to get our order, now there were a couple of mask and glove wearing employees. Are they mind readers? We ate them in our car, at the docks on the Nautical Mile, attempting to safely enjoy some Lake Life despite our own survival precautions. It blows my mind that people are crowding restaurants and bars like this thing is over. We were in full view of Mike's outdoor patio area. The subs were very average, with an serviceable amount of ingredients such as cheap iceberg lettuce and pink tomatoes. The bread sticks were okay but I was hungry. It came with some sauce. You can do better. I hardly go into places at all right now (other half does) and I am stunned by this experience, like I offended her for wearing a mask to safegaurd HER. Carlo's is the best pizza around. It's not over priced like Jets and we think their deep dish is better. We've had a pizza made with the wrong toppings once and they were so nice about it and made us a new one immediately. I highly recommend their parmesan sticks! read more

Pick-up and delivery only. I was in the area and figured I would try this location of Carlos. I was not disappointed. Much like their South River location, they make an excellent pizza. I had a discount coupon from the mail and didn't realize, until I presented it, that this location did not process those coupons. No problem! Same company, and they gladly accepted it. I couldn't have been happier! One drawback - much like their South River location, they don't have a large waiting area for customers. It was nice outside, so I just waited outside. I love Carlos. That Carlos bread is where it's at. Definitely my favorite round pizza in the area. I haven't tried their chicken or ribs yet but I plan to and I expect them to be fire. Chicago style pizza is what you want here. I've never been impressed with the regular round or square pizza, or the subs, but Chicago is where it's at. This location needs renovation. Holy moly, I love this place! Second visit today I tried the Chicago Style Pizza and the ribs dinner. The ribs were literally falling off the bone! I was so pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what to expect from ribs from a pizza shop but, man they were awesome! The Chicago pizza was so cheesy and yummy. I lived in Chicago for a brief time so I know what it's supposed to taste like and I was not disappointed. I think it was over down JUST a little bit but it didn't bother me at all. It may not get as much notoriety as Jet's, Little Caeser's and Hungry Howies, but if you are in the boat town area, please do yourself a huge favor and check them out. You must get the Chicago Stuft Pizza, it is very tasty. It is so good that you can't have just one piece. Customer service is very good. One time the order was not on time, and me and my girlfriend were getting a little agitated with having to wait. They ended up giving us free dessert with the meal. And it was very good. This has been my pizza restaurant of choice since we moved to Harrison Township a decade ago. Tried many others, and I keep coming back. Why? Let's start with quality. The pizza is never greasy, not even the pepperoni. All of their ingredients are top-quality, and you can taste it in the product. And that goes to other foods there too; the potato wedges, the breadsticks, the sub sandwiches ... All of them have great taste from good ingredients. You can't beat that. Service is also exemplary. Go and pick up your food, and the people are always pleasant and courteous. Get it delivered, and you can guarantee that whatever time Carlo's quotes you will be an overestimation. If they says 30 minutes, expect 20. 45 minutes is more like a half hour. Does anybody ever complain about pizza coming quicker? I don't think so. Skip the big chains. Some of them are okay, but all of them pale in comparison to Carlo's. Support a local business that just so happens to make a superior product. read more

We have been going to this location for quite a few years now and the last time we ordered their Chicago style, I noticed the pizza was smaller and the quality was not the same from which I might add was amazing. This time, we ordered another thinking it could have been an off type of issue, and the same exact thing happened....pizza is smaller now, the quality is just not good at all....they have a sign on the door that they no longer accept other location's coupons....really? Not to mention the girl behind the counter was on her phone as she was ringing up my husband....just all in all, bad customer service and not good quality anymore. The female employee was handling money, wiping her nose, and then going directly to make the food with her bare hands. She never washed her hands or put on gloves. Carlo's makes a good pizza but not a true Chicago style pizza. I lived in Chicago for years and know what it takes to set the real deal apart from the rest. One of the key factors of Chicago style pizza is the crust. Its very distinct. Thin and almost flakey. Sadly, Carlo's crust is way off the mark. It's more of a regular pizza dough. I should have known it wasn't the real thing when they said my pizza would be ready in 25 minutes (a real Chicago pizza takes about an hour to cook). But that doesn't mean I wouldn't return. I'll just know what to expect next time. If you come expecting a good pizza and nothing more you'll be happy. If you come expecting a Chicago style you'll be disappointed. read more
