NEVER RENT FROM SIXT!!!!!!!…read more I was on holiday in Marseille when I missed my train to Paris for my flight the next morning.. without any other option I rented a vehicle from SIXT and drove 7hrs to avoid the hassle of rescheduling flights. I drove extremely safe, with no incident, no issues with the vehicle throughout the entire experience. A few weeks later once I was back home in California I received an email stating that they would be charging my card an additional 650 EUR (which was around the same price as the total rental fee) for alleged damages. I've tried to call countless times and they either don't pick up, or put me on hold until I'm forced to hang up. I took pictures of the car before and after- zero damages! I've requested a damages report so I can even understand what I'm being charged for and they ignore all communications. Zero report, no evidence provided, just an invoice. The whole thing seems very exploitive and deceitful.. very frustrated and will absolutely never give them my business again. I highly recommend using any other travel agency!! 0/10 stars. Absolutely terrible.

Beware of post-return damage claims - especially at Paris locations. I returned my car to SIXT at Paris Orly Airport on time, in good condition, and was told at pickup that any damages would be handled immediately at drop-off. Days later, I received a notice of a "new" scratch on the rear door that wasn't mentioned by any staff and was supposedly caught by an automated system--after the car had already left my custody. This isn't the first time this has happened with SIXT. A similar issue occurred previously and was dropped after I pushed back. It's starting to feel like a pattern of manufactured damage claims used to charge unsuspecting travelers after the fact. Fortunately, I'm covered by Chase Sapphire insurance, but no one should have to go through this hassle for something that wasn't their fault. If you rent from SIXT, take thorough photos/video at pickup and drop-off--and consider going with a more transparent rental agency.

We rented from SIXT recently on our trip to France. Big mistake. Nothing was great and service was…read moreworse to boot. We booked a BMW wagon 3 series, but upon checking in, having waited for the attendant some good 10-15 min and having been traveling for more than 18 hrs, he mentioned that they will "upgrade us" (BS) to Volvo or Jeep or other equivalent instead better than BMW for 5 passengers. The attendant Lso wanted to us to buy insurance and we said no, because we are insured etc...We were tired and didn't want to insist, we agreed on the Volvo xc40. We signed the agreement and sent us down on our way to the basement to retrieve the car. We were tired and had another 2 hours to drive, so we got into the car and drove away. The basement was dark and not well lit and the car was parked near a pillar. We did a quick inspection for dents scratches on the car and it all looked ok. As we got on blvd peripherique, we realized that the car did not have any sound/audio. Even the signal wasn't clicking, no radio, no car play no speaking map... nothing. As we were already behind schedule we continued and as soon as we made it to destination, we emailed address that we were given in the event we needed to contact the rental agency, and reported the audio/sound issue... nothing. When it was time to return the car, we returned the car and since our travel was uneventful, i.e. no accident, no scratch, no dent, etc, we took picture of the car where we parked it because we were not sure if there would be an attendant when we dropped it at gare du Nord. We dropped it off, the attendant present at the office asked how our travels were, we reported the sound issue, he said he would discuss with his manager to give us some credit for that inconvenience (BS). He didn't ask to walk through or check the car upon our returning it. We left thinking we returned the car in the same condition we rented. However, the following day I get the return receipt and on it they claimed that the rim had a scratch 5-10 cm deep down to the primer! We didn't have a photo of the rim, we couldn't defend that we didn't do that. If you scratch the rim down to the primer, that's a deep scratch, you would know if you did it. Long story short, they ended up billing up nearly €500 to fix it. All in all, we believe we were scammed. When this happened, I read reviews for SIXT rental cars and there were reports of same issues. They provided photos but the photos of the rim didn't include the Volvo logo. All in all they are good at scamming. We didn't want to get in a dispute with them since we had insurance, so we paid the repair fees and submitted a claim. Please be careful if you rent from SIXT- Paris Gare Du Nord. Make sure you take photos of every inch of the car you rent before and after. Do not trust them to be ethical and do the right thing. For us, we will not repeat this mistake and we will NEVER rent from SIXT again. They CANNOT Be trusted.

They are either utterly incompetent or completely criminal. Or, perhaps, both. Just rent elsewhere. Anywhere else. Oh, and the one vehicle I did rent, they claimed a hub cap was scratched (not only did I not hit, graze, or otherwise cause any damage, but they didn't tell me there was an issue at car return nor have they presented me with any evidence of damage other than charging my credit card €210). Hands down the worst rental car experience of my life.

I chose to have Sixt fill the thank, and I was told I would only be charged for 1/8th of the tank, plus a fee. I ended up being charged 30 euros + 12 euros fees. On the invoice I received, it stated that I was charged for 14.15 liters of gas. The car that I had was a Fiat 500, and 14.15 liters equates almost for 1/2 of a tank (total tank capacity is 35 liters). The best part? The customer service does not want to hear anything and simply states, "Your invoice is correct" Laetitia must have been the least understanding and helpful person I ever dealt with. A quick search online and it shows that Sixt has a bad habit to overcharging customers, especially customers living abroad. Great job tarnishing the image of France. I will never use SIXT ever again. It's a shame this company behaves like this. Be warned.

This was truly the highlight of our trip and offered such a unique, intimate way to see the city. I felt like I fell in love with Paris the moment we hopped on our adorable pistachio and cherry red Vespa's to go explore. We opted for the half day Paris tour with Thierry. We arrived in Paris on April 28th for my 30th birthday and had some rainy weather predicted for our tour date. Marion was incredibly accommodating when we asked at the 11th hour to switch our tour date from April 30th to May 1st instead, hoping for better weather! We're so glad we switched - the weather cleared up and we just had a few scattered clouds whiled we cruised around Paris with Thierry. We had already been in Paris for a few days taking in the usual sights, so Thierry happily obliged to take us to some other neighborhoods and sites we still wanted to see. We got to see the university, the Latin Quarter, The Père Lachaise cemetery, Montmartre and the Sacred Heart, Hemingway's house, the Marais neighborhood with its boutiques, the Louvre and so much more! Our favorite aspect of Left Bank Scooters was the ability we had to keep the scooters for the rest of the day/overnight. This allowed us to take in the sights on our own and really get to see all of Paris at our own pace. It was absolutely magical! My fiancé and I, and our two friends literally drove all over the city. They provide comfortable helmets and gloves, which were much appreciated on the chilly day we had. If you're on the fence on whether to do this activity or not - DO IT. It's 110% worth every penny. You will get to experience Paris in such a unique way that no hop-on-hop-off bus tour could ever do. As a side note, I was nervous about driving in a foreign country, but my fiancé and his friend drove while us ladies rode on the back. It wasn't nearly as nerve racking as I thought it would be, you get the hang of it pretty quickly! Thank you Marion and Thierry, we can't wait to come back one day!

But since the price for a private tour was very reasonable, we opted for the tour as well and we are definitely recommending this to everyone. Daniel was our guide and he was awesome! We knocked out all the main attractions and even some hidden gems in just 3 hours! Daniel not only tells us the history but also add stories to each of the attractions so we can remember them better! We were much more acquainted and feel more comfortable with Paris after touring with Daniel. We absolutely are in love with Paris!
