Livingston Estate Services and Auctioneering on August 28 about evaluating and consigning family pieces while settling our parents' affairs. Chris said he'd get back to us that day or the next. He didn't. After weeks of silence and a follow-up, he resurfaced on September 21, explained that their software had crashed, and promised values and options within two days. That didn't happen either. Our September 28 and October 1 follow-ups went unanswered. As of October 9, we'd spent six weeks chasing them and had nothing to show for it. Their website makes a big deal about understanding how sensitive settling an estate can be. We explicitly explained that this was holding up the final steps of settling our parents' affairs. Still no reply. Too bad whoever wrote the website wasn't handling the emails. I've spent my entire career in sales and own a small business. I understand delays, but this was ridiculous. We weren't asking for a miracle. We were asking whether they wanted our business. Even "no thanks" would have accomplished more than six weeks of this nonsense. If you have time to waste, they're excellent at helping you waste it. Otherwise, find someone who can follow through on something as ambitious as answering an email.

I bid and won a purse for $32.50. The title was, "Marked Couch Purse". They posted one picture of…read morethe outside of the purse. Since it said "Marked", I trusted it had the marking label on the inside, as all authentic Coach purses do. When it arrived, the purse was CLEARLY a fake. No marking and a PU, not leather, strap. I had purchased an authentic designer purse from them last month, so I felt it was just a mistake...maybe a new employee assessing the merchandise and creating the listing. Not the case. I was offered as a one time courtesy to send the valueless purse back for a refund, but would not be refunded buyers cost or shipping to me. Basically, I would be re-couping 12 bucks (shipping back to them would be at least $20) and they have the purse to list again to fool someone else. It was not marked. They flat out lied. Dude went on and on how they use the word "marked" to mean something different then everyone else in the estate/auction business. And on and on about how I should have called them with questions. What? Was I to call them, an auction house, and ask what their definition of "marked" is? After I wouldn't accept his BS, he offered a partial refund without me having to send the trash bag back. I told him to keep his little money; my pride is not for sale. What is wrong with people?

For example, we never had more than a trickle of cold water coming out of the kitchen faucet during the entire two years (and had to go fill up the coffee carafe in the bathroom). They never fixed a broken door even though we included it on the move-in-inventory and called several times about it. They didn't fix the nail holes, dirty carpet, etc., that we noted in our inventory, as well. What you can count on is for them to create excuses for keeping your money. We knew that going in (most the reviewers mentioned it), and we just got proof of it today. They deduced $140 for cleaning. We thoroughly cleaned it even though it was horrible when we moved in (greasy range hood filter, moldy, disgusting tile in the bathroom, dog slobber caked onto the blinds in the bedroom, and carpets that hadn't even been vacuumed (even though you are required to shampoo them when you move out). I spent several days cleaning the apartment enough to be moved into and noted what I saw at first on the move-in inventory (some things I didn't notice until later, like the dog-slobbered blinds). We were the ones to fill every nail hole from our use and the prior tenant's use, yet they deducted from our inventory for nail holes. Not true. We filled them all. They also deducted for reinstalling a shelf in a closet. We never took one down. The place was cheap, so we got into this arrangement with our eyes wide open. But we still want to forewarn others that if you rent from Landmark, you can expect to lose a substantial part of your deposit even if you, as was true for us, leave the apartment much better than you found it.

My son was on a 4th floor apartment the furthest you could be from any door with a move to another apartment complex. I closed my apple watch steps and workout ring more than TWICE today if that gives you any idea... Jordan, Pierce and Kyle have to be the hardest working AND the darn nicest movers in the entire universe. Not one thing was broken, not one wall or piece of furniture was scratched. And they were so kind and cheerful- like how in the tarnation could anyone be so polite and happy while lifting heavy yhings in sweltering Columbia heat all freaking day?? And yet- they absolutely were. We ended up hiring these guys after our original move in date was botched and it was honestly a blessing in disguise. If you need anything moved- call them. We spent the evening cleaning and unpacking and I wished I could have kept those boys with us. They are THAT good! I owe the friend who recommended them a drink, or maybe a kidney or something if they ever need one because that was hands down the best recommendation I have ever been given! #bestmoversever #gamecockmovers #junioryearloading

They lost all the pieces to my 3 dresser mirrors, they had them mixed up with the wrong dressers and time was ticking. They left some furniture peices at the loading address so they couldn't install 1 set. They were nice young men but they did not have the strength to take some of my furniture upstairs. They really struggled. When reinstalling some of the furniture pieces, they were confused on how to put them back together. I called the manager and told him my concerns that these guys may need one other person. But he said he would have to charge me, instead of just satisfying the customer. It got very frustrating for me as a customer. I will never hire these guys again!
