I had an appointment with Dr. Popov for 3 pm today. Not only was this appointment scheduled for 3, but I received a text message the day before confirming the 3 pm time (see below). The office told me that they would send paperwork to my email, but never did, despite following up. I arrived at 2:55 for my appointment, and the doctor refused to see me - they claimed my appointment was at 2:45 pm. I could not be seen "out of consideration for other patients." Reception staff were totally apathetic to the situation. THANK GOODNESS I was just scheduled for a check-up. I can easily switch to a doctor who gives a shit. I would hate to be sick or pregnant and NEED to see a doctor, and be turned away at a scheduled appointment time.

I actually scrapped the running draft of my experiences- was getting too long. So this review will be a quick recap, mainly designed to advise you on how to proceed- skipping the details and benefit of the doubt, possibly a little light on patience. I didn't choose this location but was referred by my PCP. The jist is this office is terribly disorganized and nobody talks to each other or cares about what's getting done. There is no apology for waiting over an hour, they won't answer the phones and there's a lot of blaming going around the front office. Instead of depending on the front desk at check in to give you information, you better just ask the following: do they want you to pay at the beginning (there was so much conflicting and somewhat bitchy commentary on this, so it may even depend on the type of visit or the dr- just go ahead and bring it up), do they want a urine sample (even if you ask where the restroom is, the receptionist won't inform you, you have to ask) and have they set up a patient portal for you (I didn't ask this and I STILL don't have access to one with my test results after weeks of calls, so do this one on your first visit). I promise you that they will not answer the phone. There are two caveats to this, but the other departments will not answer or return calls. If you leave a message for Annette in insurance, you will get a call back, but billing seems to be about a month or so behind at this time. The only way you will be charged accurately is to call her before your appointment. She's very nice. If you press 5 for the 'all other questions' section, they typically do answer the phone but usually any help they provide is outside of their job description. Audrey tried to help me on several occasions because transferring me to triage or up front resulted in no answer and no returned call EVER. It's ridiculous. Some of the lines, like for medical questions tell you to leave only one message or to use the patient portal. Supposedly you can use the portal if someone set it up correctly, but I have no idea, see above. The first visit is 9 pages of forms that will probably take 30 minutes to fill out and they have to scan it in before you see the MA or the doctor. I was told to arrive a few minutes early, luckily I arrived 25 min early. Add 8-10 min to that just to get checked in as the unfriendly, but not really rude, front staff sits in silence not explaining what they are doing before or during the time they are helping you. You will be seen on time if you need an ultrasound, sonogram, etc. but not to see the doctor. I arrived at 3:50pm for a 4:15pm appointment the first time and didn't see Dr. Reaves until 4:55pm and she rushed the appointment, pointedly looked at the clock the whole time- as if she had been waiting on ME. When you are told to get a test before the next appointment, that doesn't mean they will see you after the test even though everyone in the building says they will. My second appointment was at 2:30pm, I was back in the waiting room at 2:41pm but the doctor didn't see me for another 57 minutes after that! Then I had to wait in her exam room while they figured out they didn't request all the right tests from the lab and couldn't seem to find everything. More ridiculous. Another note, when they tell you to get tests, YOU better ask all the right questions- can you eat, can you drink water, etc. They told me my bladder wasn't full enough for the ultrasound and I had to get it vaginally instead. What kind of staff doesn't give you proper instructions before tests they order? This one, that's who. It's up to you, don't give them too much credit, ok? They are not open on weekends and they close at 2pm on Fridays, so they may give you orders that involve going to a lab other than theirs- read every line! They left the diagnosis code off the report which in most cases would have stuck me with a huge bill that can't go to insurance without that info. It's been weeks and nobody has confirmed this is done. I'm serious, if you aren't a pitbull with these people, you will be out some serious cash. I read a review about someone getting billed a bunch of extra money for a birth control consult they didn't consent to- it's true. The doctor tried to bring it up twice. The first time made sense but I told her I would discuss that with my PCP. The second time was an unnecessary money grab I had to firmly curtail. You know, I have to sometimes wait to see my PCP 45-60 min, but she always spends as much time as needed with me. I may have to follow up with her staff to make sure they are billing right or I get my prescriptions, but they answer the damn phone. If anything, coming to Caring for Women where you'll be treated like a number makes me appreciate my PCP more. I won't tell you not to go here because it may not be your choice and you may get the answers you need. What I am telling you is be prepared and don't trust them to get it right.

Not a great office for correct billing. They added on services that I was not told about before hand.

The entire staff was great. They got me in and out quickly, but still took the time to make sure that I understood everything.

What should have been the initial visit to establish care turned into an unexpected emotional roller coaster. A young mother being told the baby was not viable without confirmation with something as simple and readily available as a doppler. Instead, the provider read from an earlier ED US report and simply said "I'm sorry for your loss". Even went as far as sharing what to expect if the body did not pass the fetus naturally. Not even an hour later my daughter was able to obtain a stat US where it was determined the fetus was healthy and with a healthy heartbeat. What a horribly uncompassionate and unprofessional provider.

LIARS and RUDE OFFICE STAFF! DON'T TRUST THIS OFFICE.2501 Scripture St #300, Denton, TX 76201…read more In the summer or 2019 I was going to change jobs, this would cause me to lose my insurance. In preparation of this, I made appointments with all my doctors including my OBGYN. This office and I THOROUGHLY discussed how I could get a 3 year birth control, have all the paperwork completed by the time my insurance ran out and be set for the next 3 years to come with no money out of my pocket by using my insurance. I was told that it would be a 100% coverage but later when this was all resolved even that was a lie, it was only going to be 70% coverage if their staff had done their job originally) The day of insertion had to be scheduled 6 days after my insurance ran out. I asked if that would be a problem AND I WAS REPEATEDLY ASSURED it was taken care of. Come to find out, JUST after I received the new birth control I now OWED MONEY? When looking at my insurance statement, the office here billed/completed paperwork AFTER my insurance ran out. Them failing to complete THEIR work in a timely manner is on THEM not ME, and I called them to tell them so. Or to at least hear an explanation as to WHY all of what they told me previously is now gone and I am left with a huge bill? EVERY ATTEMPT I HAVE MADE to clear this up I get repeatedly "spoken over" to where I have to raise my voice to make myself heard, have to call back again to due to being IMMEDIATELY hung up on when being sent to a voicemail, had return phone calls that ring ONCE and then don't leave voicemail. This back and forth has been going on for YEAR. After receiving a collections notice AFTER NEVER BEING ABLE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE OFFICE I was pretty livid. Marybeth amongst the other staff has a real issue with knowing what is being "personable" and what is being pushy, rude and speaking all over someone. When I finally made contact with the head of the office, Sandra, I was told that her office hours were until 4:30 but she can't talk on the phone. She can only walk in. I drove over IMMEDIATELY and was THEN told by staff that she was not in office. SHE JUST SPOKE TO ME ON THE PHONE AND SAID SHE WAS There. We were assured I would get a call in the morning. I got a call....that rang once and hung up AND left no voicemail. I called the office, got transferred and dropped again. I called again and had to raise my voice to be heard over Mary Beth because she kept talking over me to shut me up and transfer me without hearing me out. ONLY after I raised my voice and told her directly to stop cutting me off did she let me finish. I tried to explain to her that I have been having significant trouble for over a year due to dropped calls/no call backs etc., and you can see why I am upset can't you Mary beth? In case you try to transfer me again and it drops, can I just go ahead and make an scheduled appointment with you so that if this call DOES drop like it has been doing, I will just wait and show up at our appointed time to meet with you? She just said,"...No, I can send you to her voicemail." DID YOU NOT HEAR ME? I JUST SAID FOR A YEAR WE HAVE BEEN PLAYING PHONE TAG. I have now, after having to get other people involved got the matter resolved A YEAR LATER. It took me over a YEAR to get through the "system" and make contact with the only person in the office who knows what they are doing. I REGRET EVER COMING TO THIS OFFICE. Save yourself a headache and some money and go somewhere else.
