We chose this spot for lunch, and the experience was really nice. The interior was clean and had a welcoming ambiance. It was not busy, and only very few tables were occupied. The initial serving of chips with three different dips was a bit disappointing as they were somewhat hard and didn't seem freshly made (did not care for this). However, the redeeming factor was the outstanding dishes we ordered--fresh oysters, ceviche, fried fish, grilled octopus, and a la tumbada rice, resembling a seafood risotto. Everything was well-prepared; the fried fish was expertly cooked, and the grilled octopus was a perfect blend of flavor and texture. The cocktails added a pleasant note to the overall experience. Outside, there's a pool with several diners, and a wood-fired pizza station, which makes fresh hand-made pizzas. For dessert, we ordered coconut cheesecake, which came with a scoop of coconut ice cream and mango ice cream topped with fresh mangoes. We liked the mango dessert better. This was one of our favorite restaurants at The Grand Moon Palace Resort. I recommend you try it!

Very small portions! We weren't stuffed and ordered a lot! The food was mediocre and not super flavorful. The best thing about this place was their hibiscus sorbet. They were out of octopus and conch too:(

Caribeno is getting 5 stars for doing a wonderful job preparing and presenting the fish that we caught on our deep-sea fishing trip. We brought back 4 barracuda fillets to see if the hotel would keep them frozen before we brought them back to the states. However, they informed us that the chefs at Caribeno would be happy to cook them up for us fresh! We jumped on the opportunity and had them prepare the fillets two-ways. First, they did a traditional ceviche style, slightly cooking (blanching? boiling? poaching? not really sure, but it wasn't raw) and serving it with plentiful lime juices, onions, and avocado. Can't say much about the fish itself (barracuda is a little rubbery) but the presentation and taste of the rest of the dish was great! Second, they did a simple garlic presentation (I think it was pan-fried). Again, the meat was rubbery but that's not the restaurant's fault. I preferred the ceviche preparation. Next time, I would probably pick a different cooking style for the fish. As for their dishes on the menu, their tostadas were amazing! Strongly recommend them, especially the fried fish one. I also ordered the coco shrimp dish, which is VERY small, more like an appetizer portion. But luckily the restaurant is all-inclusive, so you can always order more.

This breakfast and lunch buffet was our favorite due to the friendly staff and the variety of foods. Amazing American breakfast, fruits, Mexican foods, European meats and cheeses, craved pork, smoothies, desserts.....that's what I remember. We always asked for a table away from the door and other people. The staff is very accommodating. Great for children. Has a bar for Mexican beers and tropical drinks.

Definitely worth trying. Aside for the excellent service, all dishes are very well presented. Every dish has its own distinct flavoring and nice small portion sizes. Lobster was not worth the Resort Credits as it was just ok. Gumbo was very tasteful and one of the better gumbos I have tried.

Caribbean Lamb with grape onions! Spectacular!

A great change from the grand buffet. The food and service were 5 star! Wonderful atmosphere, presentation of the food were great. Got to see a great fire show when my neighboring guests ordered the Mayan coffee and mango flambe. Awesome! Definitely coming back before my stay ends!

Tacos to sample, the meat was tasty!

Dinner was better than expected when we chose Caribeno for our a la carte meal of the day! Their wait staff was very attentive and friendly. They served this coconut butter which was really yummy and we couldn't get enough. All 3 of their soups were really delicious, and not heavy on the stomach at all. We ordered a variety of dishes but we enjoyed their Cocoshrimp and Carribean Lamb the most. The pianist that evening played Beatles and Elton John songs which made the evening even better.

The food in this photo is octopus, chichen and beef on screwers.

This is the best restaurant in the Grand Palace. Their food is over the top with a large selection of fish all done to perfection. Rodolfo was our amazing server. So glad we chose Caribeno today.

Especially when we were looking for a place to celebrate some very exciting family news! Rockas serves a delicious menu of food inspired by both Jamaican and Caribbean influences, with (of course) a dash of classic Mexican cuisine too. From their appies to our delicious meal, nothing disappointed. What put this latest experience over the top, though, was the kind and amazing service we received. When they found out our special occasion, they celebrated right along with us and brought out a special treat too. Simply amazing! And of course, you can't beat the Calle 38 jungle vibe and outdoor seating here. Definitely worthy of 5 stars or more!

We called ahead to confirm if a reservation was necessary, but they assured us it wasn't. The place was charming, and we opted to sit outside. The service was great, and we started with drinks--a rum punch and a Long Island. Both were well-made, and the rum punch, crafted with Appleton rum, was good, though I've had better. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the hype. The honey BBQ jerk wings had a good flavor, but they were incredibly spicy--perfect if you love heat, but a bit much for me. We also ordered the lobster, which was extremely dry, tough, and rubbery. My sister couldn't eat it and was very disappointed. I ordered the oxtail, and while the portion was generous and the meat fell off the bone, the flavor was lacking. The rice was mushy--I prefer it more grainy--and it was missing seasoning. The salad was nice, though I wish there had been more avocado, and the plantain was served cold. They did surprise us with a birthday ice cream sandwich cake and song happy birthday. While they do have other menu options, I'd recommend anyone considering this place to decide for themselves. Would I return? Probably not--there are so many other dining options nearby to explore.

Each move they make is with exquisite care. The level of service is one that would be tough to match. We first received some bread and an amouse bouche (watermelon with goat cheese). Both were nice little tastes to start the evening. For appetizers, we chose both the Caesar salad and Corn Soup. They were both very good dishes, with the corn soup being a HUGE standout. It was a unique concoction that oozed with flavor. A must order! For mains, we had the NY Strip and Sea Bass. The strip was a solid steak, but not the best in town. That honor would go to Harry's. However, both dishes were still very solid 4/5 star achievers. The sea bass was a nice salty dish that was unlike any other variation of it that I've had. The service here is superb, they have live jazz music at times, and you really can't go wrong with anything that you order! This may be my top choice in Cancun as of this writing for its all around dining experience.

When we arrived, we were greeted with FABULOUS music (their pianist is magnificent) and escorted to a special table for us. It was more than either of us could have expected: rose petals, fabulous place settings, and when we received the menus, we opened them to see, on the left side, Tina's special menu slip/greeting that read: "Happy Birthday, Dr. Tina" (nice touch). The meal itself was delectable! We were presented with a delicious lobster amuse bouche and we ordered a beef tartare to share. I have been eating less red meat lately, however if you're going to eat red meat, eat it here. The quality of the beef tartare was amazing and beautifully presented (as every other dish we ordered). For the second course, I ordered the corn soup. Best corn soup hands down! The flavor was out of this world. For our entrees, I had the duck (staple of the restaurant for 20 years) and Tina ordered the sea bass. My duck was soooo good and I tasted her sea bass which was very flavorful. For dessert, we had ordered (at beginning of meal) a chocolate soufflé which came out hot and delicious (and tasty but not too sweet, which I also appreciate). Then after our soufflé, they delivered a special additional chocolate cake with candle and 'Happy Birthday Dr. Tina' writing on plate, while they sang to us/Tina. It was very cute and sweet. I can honestly say, this experience was a dream: from the synchronized delivery of food/presenting of dishes from the wait staff (literally felt like I was in a 007 ritzy scene with the service), thoughtful touches, delectable cuisine, exceptional jazz music, warmth of staff and great service. I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could. Classy place and extremely well run. Hats off to the manager and chef (they both came up at beginning and end of meal to speak with us and thank us for coming which was very nice) and our amazing server Oscar (he was so kind and truly the best!! 10s across the board on service!!). Everyone at Club Grill made the night so special and magical and this truly put a smile on both of our faces! I admit, I am used to experiencing top quality/very nice places, but even this place truly impressed me, and that says a lot. Can't wait to come back to Club Grill at the Ritz, next time I'm in Cancun. Thanks again to Oscar, the manager, chef and team/staff at Club Grill. You truly made this night special for us and you rock!! Lesley Hunter

After dining here a few days in a row, my favorite was the beef quesadillas. I also got to try the chicken tacos (3 in an order) and chicken nachos, but the beef quesadillas were by far the best thing I got. The beef was tender and the cheese was perfectly melted. Charge your order to your room and you're good to go! When you're staying at the Ritz, you don't have another option but this option isn't that bad... just a tad overpriced.
