I suspect there may have been a management or ownership change since the videos we saw, as the experience felt a little different than expected, but the team there is working hard. When we arrived with our party of 8, we were greeted by a very pleasant staff who did a great job accommodating our large group. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag, but there are definitely some highlights: Garlic Shrimp: This was absolutely on point. I honestly should have ordered a second plate, but I didn't want to be greedy! Rasta Pasta: Packed with flavor and a solid choice. Jerk Chicken: The star of the show. I could have easily just eaten this for my entire meal. Oxtail: This was a bit of a disappointment; it had good flavor, but the meat was tough rather than falling off the bone. We did have a few hiccups with dishes taking a while to come out, but the owner came over to apologize and personally explained that they were understaffed due to some last-minute call-outs. She was a very nice lady, and we were totally understanding of the situation. If you decide to give them a try, I would 100% recommend starting with the garlic shrimp and going for the Rasta pasta with the jerk chicken. We appreciated the hospitality and the effort the team put into making our large group feel welcome!

I knew this place would be a go-to place for great food. So now I've been here a couple of times and have ordered various stuff off the menu since then. This most recent time we of course ordered the crispy grilled fish again, plus the shrimp pasta and the Jamaican Jerk Chicken....all delicious dishes! Overall: It's definitely worth trying out because you won't be disappointed.

We walked in during one early evening around 6pm and we were lucky enough they were able to seat my family of 13. It was 2 separate tables next to each other. They have a huge indoor seating area and some outdoor seating. We were seated indoors to escape the Cancún humidity and heat. Food was good, some dishes are hit or miss. I wasn't too hungry so I got the coconut shrimp and it was good. The breading was crispy and just enough seasoning and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The ceviche came with what they called "a show" but they just put dry ice in the bowl to make it smoky. Two people in my party ordered the branzino and it came whole and nicely grilled. However, my sister in the table next to us also offered the branzino, and she got filets of fish all chopped up and it tasted horrible. So strange but I guess I would suggest you make sure to ask if the branzino is whole and grilled before you make your order.

The gentlemen working at Caribe were absolutely fantastic. When I was stumped on a drink to try, one of the servers sent their 40 frozen drink menu options to my phone for me to peruse! The servers are all super friendly and make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable during your visit. They really do a great job to make sure you have that sun umbrella or extra towels. There's no doubt the food is overpriced here but when you think about how you're getting beachfront dining, then it's a little more palatable. After dining here a few days in a row, my favorite was the beef quesadillas. I also got to try the chicken tacos (3 in an order) and chicken nachos, but the beef quesadillas were by far the best thing I got. The beef was tender and the cheese was perfectly melted. Charge your order to your room and you're good to go! When you're staying at the Ritz, you don't have another option but this option isn't that bad... just a tad overpriced.
