The food was soooooo good and the oxtails were tender and tasty! The mac&cheese was great cabbage good and plantains were delish! I will definitely order again when I'm back in town. Now one of my favorites.

One of our favorite lunch take-out options. Extremely filling and savory. Make sure to call about 20 min ahead so that the order will be ready. Highly recommend the chicken stew or oxtail. Comes with rice-and-beans and a vegetable side (spinach or cabbage). Very limited seating - a few two tops. The takeout counter has some empanadas and cake for dessert on display.

This was my first time go to this establishment. I live very close, however unfortunately every time I drove by it was closed. Today I got lucky and decided to give it a try. There are a couple of high stools and tables to sit at but mainly a pick up and go spot. For this encounter I got the Chicken Roti, Jerk chicken, Stewed chicken, and Chicken Patty. The Roti was on point - 4 stars The Stew chicken was good - 4 stars The Jerk chicken was good/ok - 2.5 - 3 stars And the Chicken patty was ... ummmm 1 star I prefer a deeper heat with my Jerk chicken and the sauce they provided with the meal tasted like honey mustard. The chicken patty's dough was not good and tasted undercooked. Overall nice atmosphere and decor and the people were very nice. Their prices are higher then most Caribbean spots I go to, especially for the quantity they give. Final word: I would and have returned but only for the Roti.

Aside from a strange man sitting staring at me while I ate, the people here are very nice and professional. Some Caribbean restaurants can be unfriendly for whatever reason, because they do not value customer service however, this was not the case here. The food was well cooked and fresh, the potato salad was to die for. Nice ol' skool reggae music plays as you're eating. Aside from the staring man, welp! We live in a world now where I dont even question strange behavior anymore. In general, great Caribbean food and very good customer service.

I'm surprised this take out only Caribbean restaurant isn't even on Yelp, but given that it was cash only and doesn't even have a print menu, I guess it makes sense. I live nearby and have to say this is by far the best bang for your buck you'll get from Caribbean food in Montclair. Most large enters under $15 and definitely homemade. There are both small and large (dinner) portions, and the dinner size comes with a choice of rice (white or with beans) and cabbage/spinach/mac and cheese. They also have beef patties, but they are popular and sometimes not in stock at the end of the day. Their jerk meats (chicken, shrimp, etc.) are super good, sufficiently spicy, and they can also run out early. My personal favorite is the stew chicken - not spicy at all - but it is bone-in and sometimes bone fragments can break off. Just something to be aware of. We have never had an entree here that we didn't like. Get the rice and cabbages - awesome combination! Food was ready within 15 mins of calling. The woman we always order from is friendly. Little to no seating so plan to take out. Highly recommend.

Ok, so I was looking for a nearby Caribbean spot to place a catering order for our office event and I found these guys via yelp. Before I ordered from them for catering I have to at least try the food. So I ordered an oxtail lunch. What a sticker shock! $12.25 for a small and $15+ for a large. DAMN! That's expensive. Also, they served the food in a Styrofoam container. Now if you love food you know Styrofoam ruins the taste. I do not like food in Styrofoam containers especially hot food. Styrofoam is poison. It leaks into the food and it's bad for the environment. Now the oxtails were good. The rice needed a little more salt. All and all the food wasn't bad. I did not do the catering with them. I found a much cheaper place. I wish these guys the best, though.

Had the chicken and beef patties from here, very good. Can't speak on anything else, but these little patties pack a powerful punch!

It was the perfect size for two. The meat melted in your mouth, and the sauces were incredibly flavorful and not too spicy. We also split a very nice bread pudding for dessert. We liked the ambience and the music - nice for a date night, not too loud and not too soft. The chef Patrick was really hospitable and explained the different dishes to us. The prices were good and we left stuffed. A fantastic experience and I can't wait to come back.

It's in a dry town so they don't serve alcohol, but they allow you to BYOB. The service was really good. Friendly and efficient, and felt very homely. Even though we were a big group of like 15 and only one 2 gentlemen working, they were really efficient and on point. The food was really good! Everything came out hot and fresh and was seasoned to perfection. I tasted my friend's fried chicken and fell in love! So much so, I placed an order of just the chicken to go! I had: Jerk chicken tacos - 5/5 Crab fried rice - 4/5 Fried Chicken- 5/5 (amazing! Seasoned and fried perfectly) Definitely recommend this spot and would go back if I'm in the area!

At a Thai spot, I expect to see Thai people. At a Mexican spot, I expect to see Mexicans. You get the picture. So at this Haitian restaurant, there are always Haitians enjoying the food -- which tells you everything you need to know. If you're looking for an upscale yet still authentic Haitian restaurant, this is it. No matter what you order, they always start you off with a soup that's hot, rich, and flavorful. I usually begin with the Haitian caviar and smoked fish empanadas, then move on to either the Saveur Creole goat or the red snapper -- always with extra gravy, because I can't resist pouring it over their black rice (don't judge me). It's BYOB, so bring your drink of choice or grab something from the shop right next door. Another thing I love is that the owner, Robert, is usually there. He'll stop by your table, talk with you, and make the meal feel like a real experience. And if you admire the artwork on the walls -- he painted all of it himself. If you go, tell him I sent you... maybe then he'll finally sell me one.

It's one of those dishes that gets even more delicious as you eat it. The meal was perfectly balanced, made with fresh, high quality ingredients. The chef was back there doin his thing! The pancakes were fluffy came topped with blueberries and strawberries, and a generous carafe of dulce de leche.
