Caretti's has amazing customer service! We placed a to-go order on the phone and went to pick it up a short while later. When we arrived the order was getting boxed up. We paid and were on our way. A short while later we were called by Caretti's and informed that the Calzone we had was mixed up with another one and not what we ordered. They offered to remake our order and bring it to us. Unfortunately, we were not very close at that time, so, they offered us a free Calzone the next time we come in. This is the way good service should be. Thank you, Caretti's! I was visiting from New Jersey and looking for dinner to be delivered to my hotel I started with the Harvest salad which was fresh, loaded with apple almonds and cranberry's Soooo Delicious!! Then I had the wings as an appetizer. There were 10 wings. They were huge, meet was juicy , I only ate 5 because I also ordered the Chicken cheesesteak. OMG it was so good!! DELICIOUS!!! If you enjoy food poisoning and all the discomfort that comes with it, than this restaurant is for you. Since moving to the area, everyone recommended this restaurant to me (they meant the other location by Walmart...oops). I did not see anything special about this place from the moment I walked in. Not one of the staff were friendly, they were all rather rude. I purchased the stuffed shells. I was so hungry from a long day I ate half of the plate before I noticed a rancid, rotten egg, garbage smell under the piles of cheese. I opened the stuffed shell and confirmed it was the stuffing. This had to be rotten, way past the expiration date of dairy to cause such an offensive odor. This is a smell that one would notice making the food, which makes it quite apparent that this location doesn't give a f*ck about it's patrons and would rather save costs than use fresh ingredients. I was so sick I couldn't hold anything down for almost two days. After this experience, I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS LOCATION AGAIN!!! Definitely value my healthy a lot more than to come back here and willingly poison myself. I spoke to my coworkers who recommended Caretti's to me, they confirmed I am not the only one they know who has gotten sick from this location. They all know this one as "the shady, nasty Caretti's." Lunch at Caretti's was two slices of pizza today. They have a few different varieties at the counter and I chose two that looked interesting. A few minutes in the oven and they were ready to go, nice and hot. One with chicken and broccoli, the other was a spicy chicken marinara that was messy but delicious. Caretti's is FAIR! They're no better or worse than any other pizza place in the area. If you've had Pat & Carla's, you've had Caretti's! If you've had Cafe del Sol, you've had Caretti's! I just get one topping he hangs up before telling me the total. Called for a delivery order of 2 large pizzas and an order of mozzarella sticks. After a long wait we called and asked why we had not gotten our delivery and the girl said one of our drivers were in an accident and they could not deliver our order. We were very concerned about the driver in the accident and the girl said he was OK but car was not. So we got in car and went to pick up our order. When we got there everything was cold. Our problem with this whole thing is that they never communicated anything to us. We would have gladly picked up a hot order earlier. When we voiced our opinion about the issue the other guy that was delivering was behind the counter and basically told us we were very inconsiderate for getting upset about our order. Our 2nd visit here was unforgettable. One teenager was serving the entire dining room. We got our sodas almost immediately but then a family with 4 small children got her attention. It took almost 10 minutes for her to come back. She brought my half sub & loaded fries but nothing for my husband. Another 5 minutes later, she brought his half sub, no fries. Said they would be right out. He ate slowly, while I finished my meal. She didn't come back to refill sodas or check on us. He was done his sub when she came back with the fries. He turned her away stating it was too late. When my husband went to the counter to pay the bill, he heard the cook tell the server to take our leftover, lukewarm fries to the other table. Yuck!! Great spot in a pretty depressing shopping center. We came here a few times for lunch while in the area and this is as good as it gets from what we could tell. They have your typical Italian choices; however, they generally have this smoked turkey focaccia bread sandwich that is awesome! The focaccia was perfect and totally made this sandwich. The next couple of visits I went for slices and was totally impressed. They are hearty and the crust doesn't disappoint as is the case with some places. So, my job has me out of town for training. Now for anyone that travels more than 100 miles out from their job for whatever reason your employer bestows upon you, depending on where you are, one question always remains: Where can I find something good to eat? Now if you're like me, you almost never want to travel so far, only to dine at an establishment that you frequent regularly near your home. (Applebee's, TGI Friday's, Uno's, etc. etc.) And if you like me, you always like checking out the local establishments that are unique to that area. You know, restaurants that are only located in that town or city, and/or have been there so long they're rooted in the history of that town or city (think Ben's Chili Bowl and Washington, D.C., Nathan's and Coney Island, Chap's Pit Beef and Baltimore). So when my co-worker (who's been in this area many times before) recommended Caretti's Pizza & Ristorante, I gave it a shot...and to my delight, I was happily satisfied. Once you enter the Restaurant, you get that "welcome" feeling. The server greets you with a smile, actually welcomes you to Caretti's and asks how you're doing before even asking for your order. While this may have been a unique case or the usual, I must say I really appreciated it. Courtesy like that is lost nowadays so it's a welcomed treat (and that's before the food). Speaking of which, the smell of the place completely encapsulated me to the point that I could've stood there all day and indulged in the scent of each well crafted meal to mark them in my memory. Now this left me with a question of course, what do I try? There were so many items available, and on display by the way, that I was at a lost for where to start. There were calzones, and a variety of regular and stuffed pizzas to name a few. On top of that, I'd hate to pick a meal after that wonderful, engaging experience, only to be disappointed in the end. So I took a chance and tried a combination of two of my favorite dishes, Crab cakes and Italian pastas, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Ravioli (with the Red Sauce). Once the server presented it, which also came with house salad and garlic bread, I gave it a taste and, oh man was it good! It was an incredible dish, and they were very generous in my opinion with the crab stuffed ravioli. They were sizable pieces, nothing small, and the sauce was excellent It had a slight kick to it and as of this review, I still can't put my finger on what the spice is, but it was an added delight. It truly tasted homemade. Now the salad was a typical side salad, nothing really special, although I did enjoy the creamy Italian that it was paired with. The garlic bread was a bit of let down. It was like a toasted baguette with some run-of-the-mill garlic spread. (It wasn't even evenly spread across the bread). However, that is a small, insignificant blemish compared to what was overall a great experience. I am definitely going back to try another dish tomorrow, and if you're ever in Chambersburg, whether it's for work or otherwise, make Caretti's your answer to that age old question, "Where can I find something good to eat?" read more
