The medical care my son received was good. He has some complex needs, and since we were waiting to get in with his pediatrician, this visit was mainly to rule out anything more serious and provide short-term support. In that regard, the provider did a good job. Unfortunately, the front office experience did not match the quality of care. When I called ahead, the staff member, Niegee, did not seem to listen to my questions about our place in line. When we arrived, her demeanor was cold and unwelcoming, which made the overall experience uncomfortable. A friendly and attentive front desk can make a big difference, especially for parents managing a child's medical concerns. Update: I had acute sinusitis. My right side of my face became so swollen the other night and I had yellow snot and wet coughing. It was horrendous and I almost ended up inthe ER again. I ended up calling Teledocs that morning who immediately prescribed me an antibiotic which has helped IMMENSELY. Seriously. All that pain could have been avoid if this place took my issues seriously. They gave paper forms and took me out of line. My text said I was supposed to be seen an hour ago. I have watched multiple people come in after me and go back. I absolutely hate this care now!!!! Just wanted to give an update. I have been here for 2 hours! I still do not have results back. They told me 30- 45 mins ago the results would be ready in 15 mins. The doctor came in without reading my results. He actually came in and asked me if they did any tests. They charged my pregnant wife $359.76 out of pocket when we have insurance just to tell her to go to the hospital down the road, basically they didn't know how to care for her. They charged her $180.00 which unfortunately was fine & agreed upon but a week later charged our card 179.76 more without notice. No documentation was given with how much we would be charged. She was sick & needed care. They were unable to provide care. Almost $400.00 to do absolutely nothing. The manager of this location is incompetent & the staff is not good enough to provide care. I would give zero stars if possible. I went in last week because I wasn't feeling well and truly thought my blood pressure was acting up which it was the reading was 79/94. It turns out I also had a UTI. I was given medicine they did a check x-ray and EKG as well as other bloodwork and told me I needed to follow up with a primary care physician in a week.. They called me a few days later with the blood test, results of which several or abnormal we are new to this area and I was unable to get into a primary physician for three weeks. I asked if I could come in and pick up my paperwork and have my blood pressure checked at that time and explain to them. I was unable to get into a primary care for three weeks. this was actually the doctor I asked about this when he called me with the blood test results. He said sure not a problem you can come in and we can do that for you. First of all, they actually let me leave their office with my blood pressure that high. I went in today to pick up the paperwork and I have my blood pressure checked, having been told if it was still high they would give me enough medication to be able to make it to my appointment.. however they also wanted me to pay $181 to have my blood pressure checked. Needless to say I walked out of there and said I'll take my chances.. Never never know never again. Will we go there I'd go to the emergency room at the hospital first don't waste your money and your time. Not only did you let me walk out of their originally with my blood pressure sky high but then you couldn't even be bothered to check it today when you knew I couldn't get into a doctor for three weeks after I was told over the phone that yes you could check it, nobody bothering to tell me it was gonna cost $200 to have that done. Services rendered were adequate, nothing special. My issue is around their handling of billing. At the time of the visit we used a credit card to pay for the $100 upfront fee. About 2 months later we received a bill indicating that another $100 was owed after all the insurance adjustments. The statement was dated 11/29/24 and was due on 12/29/24. Before payment could be sent, Carenow charged our credit card (12/13/24) without authorization or any type of notification. Was a little shocked at their practice. Over the 45 years I've had my own health insurance, I've never had a medical facility automatically charge my credit card or withdraw from my debit card without any type of notification. I went into CareNow to have my blood pressure checked and have my Rx renewed. I provided them with my insurance information well ahead of time. When I arrived, the receptionist said my deductible had been met so all I owed was $36 for the office visit. The nurse practioner took my weight and my blood pressure and wrote my Rx. She did not do anything else. No labs, no blood tests. She didn't even check my eyes, ears, or throat. The whole exam lasted five minutes. Two weeks later, I received a bill from CareNow for almost $300 after they'd charged my insurance $250. This charge is completely arbitrary. There was no explanation. Had they told me at the time of my visit, I would have gone somewhere else or waited a week until I could get into my regular doctor's office. This type of billing practice is highly deceptive. That's why this company has 1.6 stars and an F Unaccredited rating on the BBB website. read more

I am feeling miserable - I checked in online at 7:00AM CST and was called well after the clinic opened (I was not expecting a call prior to 8AM). I have never been required to fill out preregistration documents, my insurance has not changed, I am unwell. I was told I would not be checked into the wait list until the forms were completed in advance. I was at the exact Care Now location not even 30 days ago and none of my benefits have changed. I went in on a holiday weekend in extreme pain from bursitis of the elbow. Instead of treating me there I was sent to the hospital to be treated. The doctor made it sound serious so we went. The intake nurse at the hospital was baffled as to why in the world they would send me to the ER instead of just treating me in the doctor's office. I went for a bad persistent cough, even checking in early I waited over an hour, saw a medical assistant that fumbled taking my blood pressure, it was high and she said it was great! Then I saw a Dr for maybe 3 minutes , he listened to my lungs, said it was pneumonia and gave me prescription. I paid $50 when I registered, my insurance paid $54.64. I received a bill for $504!!! For new patient (they are urgent care, not an established Drs office) and for a Covid test that I did NOT take! The staff are very friendly and today Lee was super helpful with my 10 panel drug test for school! Personally, I had a terrible experience at this location that resulted in me getting a second opinion elsewhere that was completely different. I visited this location due to sudden severe sore throat, following recovery of almost 3 weeks of another respiratory illness. I told them how suddenly and severely the pain came on (after having felt better for 2-3 days) and that it seemed like something more was going on because nothing was helping to ease it. They told me it was just a cold and to take some Tylenol. I feel like they didn't listen to me. I've had colds before. Colds start gradually, and can generally be treated at home. This was not a cold, and over the counter treatments were not even taking the edge off. I realize that I'm not a doctor, but I am someone who carefully weighs when to seek treatment, particularly from urgent care. After suffering through the whole day, and repeatedly sobbing because of how badly my ear and throat were hurting, I went somewhere else for a second opinion. Sure enough, I had swollen tonsils and an ear infection. Additionally, my blood pressure had sky-rocketed from the morning, prompting the 2nd center that I visited to have me call my OB office (I'm pregnant) and send me for blood pressure monitoring. So I ended up spending the evening in the hospital. I truly feel that my bp would not have gotten so high if I had been able to start antibiotics earlier in the day. The pain got progressively worse as the day went on, and the whole ordeal of feeling like I was dismissed as overreacting to a "cold" was stressful. They called me for a follow up the next day, and I told them that I was unhappy and what had happened. Then they asked if I would like to come back in and have the doctor order me some prescriptions. Of course by this time, I received the care I needed elsewhere, and am recovering with the meds I need thanks to the caring team members at Minor Emergency of Denton, and at the hospital. The wait time was insane but I didn't cut stars for this as I feel it's kinda the new norm and they made up for it with customer service. The nurse who checked me in was both friendly and efficient. The NP who saw me was kind and listened to my concerns. They even called my prescription to a second pharmacy after the first one failed me. They did that almost instantly. If I could suggest any improvements it would be better utilization of their text messaging to update on delayed wait times. I was originally told and hour and a half but it turned into almost double. As a nurse myself, I understand delays and getting swamped with sick people needing your care. However, I would have like to get at least one update. Unfortunately I had to take a Covid test. While I did get in to see the dr very quickly, the lady who took my test and the dr who gave me my results lacked On any kind of professionalism. The dr came in and gave me my results, he never once checked my breathing or checked my throat. I am waiting in the waiting area right now and someone walked in to be seen. She was not wearing a mask. There is a sign that says "No Mask, No Entrance" but not one staff member said anything to her. I find it disconcerting that a place where people get care because they are sick, a mask policy would not be enforced. My daughter was a patient at the CareNow in Denton, TX off I-35. There was over a 3 hour wait which was fine because we expected that. I paid $50 + 20% of testing. My daughter came in for a sore throat. The nurse swabbed her throat. The nurse practitioner came in and said the test was negative so she diagnosed her with viral pharyngitis stating there's nothing they can do for her. I know there is nothing they can prescribed for viral illness, but what I have a problem with is the provider never looked at my daughters throat. She did not do a physical assessment whatsoever. If a patient comes in for sore throat, I feel like she should have at least looked at it, felt her lymph nodes, looked in her ears and nose, listened to her heart and lungs, etc. She just walked in and gave a diagnosis. Horrible customer service and very unprofessional. The nurse putting us in the room was attentive and seemed to care, but I cannot say the same for the provider. I'm still trying to wrap my head around paying for a "service" and not receiving any care whatsoever. Will never go back. I highly recommend dr on demand if you need to be seen for any type of upper respiratory illness. read more

Got an appointment for my husband after he started having symptoms of COVID. The tests came back positive. I inquired about treatment options and was told there weren't any. My husband is 68 and has high blood pressure. Thank God for our Astra Zeneca study team! They made a phone call and he was scheduled for a Monoclonal Antibody infusion the next day. I know there wasn't any profit in CareNow making this phone call, but to not even been told if this option is, in my opinion, almost criminal. Health care for profit sucks. read more

Picked this place since it's close to my house and in my insurance network. I have been here a few times without issues. Did the online check in. Was promptly called back and told I had to pay for my visit upfront. She said my deductible wasn't met and I had to pay up front. Which was incorrect. I was taken out of the cue for my visit. Called my insurance and they pointed out that they were incorrect. My insurance even called CareNow to discuss my coverage with them. Redid my online appointment. No call back. Redid it again and Now my wait was going to be over an hour. The 30minute delay dealing with her mistake with my insurance could have been avoided. Minimum wage workers are running off your customers CareNow. Time to clean house and get someone that actually knows what they are doing with insurance. Last time I was here for a visit they charged $322. For a 5 min chat with the dr and a shot. I would think they want repeat customers like me ‍. I guess not. read more

As of now, 10:30 AM, 3 hours later, we're still sitting in the room waiting for a doctor. The location isn't busy, there aren't any urgent patients requiring immediate attention. Found out today I was miss diagnosed by Denton CareNow and I had a broken wrist requiring surgery. I went there on 2/5 with pain in my wrist. CareNow told me I had a sprained wrist. After a month with not much improvement I went elsewhere with my CareNow X-rays and was told my wrist was broken. I woundn't take a dog to this place. read more

I checked in online today at 2:30pm. They called me around 2:45 to confirm information and to let me know there were 3 patients in front of us and it would be about an hour wait. 3 HOURS LATER... It's 5:20pm now and STILL haven't gotten the call to head in. And from past experience, once we get there it's another hour (or two) wait once there. We decided to head to Code 3 Urgent Care (Same prices as Carenow but no extra fees for my sons strep test or steroid shot... so actually cheaper in the end), got in immediately and the doc came in right away, took care of our issue and we were in and out of there within 25 minutes, start to finish. It was amazing. And WOW, they were so much friendlier than the people I've dealt with before at Carenow!! I will never go to Carenow again and will be letting all of my friends and family know as well, so they save themselves the lost hours waiting.
