I will be leaving a more in depth review of my experience at this location soon. I have been a…read moreclient since 2018, and absolutely I do not recommend this therapy site, its current therapists or its leadership. Problems do not get resolved and instead leadership (Eric Ward) becomes condemning / defensive from what appears to be ego injury over feedback. I was stunned how he spoke down to me. Therapists tell you one thing and then tell someone else another thing, breaking trust. It's an unfortunate place. I was told I was not committed to their site despite being a long term client since 2018. There were errors on their end of going back and forth on whether or not I could do sessions over audio or not and when it got confusing; they just condemned and blamed me in a childlike manner. It was due to scheduling incompetence on behalf of FCS...the receptionists have given inconsistent information on whether or not I could do audio sessions. Because the receptionists went back and forth on what kind of session I could book, I was told I wasn't compliant. I also tried one therapist and didn't have a connection and was told I was not compliant over this - so be careful. You should be allowed to try a therapist without being shamed for deciding it's not a fit for you. However this got thrown back at me as "not being compliant with treatment" by a manager a few years younger than me who simply has a degree. However the lack of professionalism in these ways shocked me of the effectiveness of said degree. I am stunned to say, my session content also got thrown back in my face with him using it as a reason to belittle my concerns as I was told "I've read your medical records." I mean that is seriously scary to have someone gaslight your concerns away because they say they read your notes on session. And what in session would invalidate any of my valid concerns? Basically you do not want your personal data that's supposed to be HIPPA compliant thrown in your face by these people when you have feedback about staff giving inconsistent info to invalidate your concerns. How I was treated, it reminded me of a cult. Haven't they ever seen a Dr Ramani video on narcissism? For now I will leave you with the AI summary that popped up about reviews for this place; which I couldn't agree more: Reviews for Family Counseling Service are mixed, with some users praising the quality of certain therapists and others criticizing the overall experience, particularly citing concerns about inconsistent counselor quality and potential issues with management and staff treatment, according to information available on platforms like Yelp and Indeed. Negative aspects mentioned in reviews: * Inconsistent counselor experience: Some users report encountering inexperienced or less qualified counselors. * Management concerns: Several employee reviews on platforms like Indeed criticize the management culture at Family Counseling Service, alleging poor treatment of staff and inconsistent expectations. * Client experience complaints: Some users share negative experiences related to appointment scheduling, communication issues, and feeling disregarded by the staff.

Avoid this place. While there were a couple of decent staff…read morehere, their office policies and how they deal with patients is unprofessional, and irresponsible. They dump patients quickly who don't fit their expectations. No response from management when calls were made to ask to discuss policies. Made us feel incredibly unimportant.

I started seeing Amy at the suggestion of my psychiatrist in order to help with some sleeping…read moreissues through cognitive behavioral therapy. Honestly, I was extremely resistant - I didn't want to see a therapist, I didn't want to talk through issues, and I really didn't think CBT would help at all with my sleeping problems. I finally gave in, agreeing to "time box" the sessions to 10 weeks, just to give it a shot and see if it would help. After my first session with Amy, my wife and I both noticed improvements in my ability to fall asleep, my quality of sleep, and my overall mood and energy because of my sleep, within just a couple of days. Fast forward several months later, including multiple weeks of seeing Amy more than once a week. The 10 week "time box" is obviously well past, and I've begun to allow Amy and her expertise into more of my life and to help me deal with even more issues in my life, from being a better husband, father, employee, and just a better person in general. To be completely honest, I really wanted to not like seeing a therapist, and frankly, not like Amy. But now, I can't imagine my life without seeing Amy and having her help me through things, give me my homework, and help me to learn that I can work through mental hurdles with various strategies she's taught me. Amy has always been available - she's very prompt to return phone calls and even text messages when I have needed her, has been very flexible to work around my schedule, and genuinely cares about me and my family. If you're looking for a great therapist and someone who will care about you, get to know you, and take time for you, I highly recommend Amy. She's helped more than my sleep, she's changed my life and sticking with her past 10 weeks has been the best decision I've made in a long time.

I learned life changing coping skills that taught me self radical acceptance, mindfulness and gratitude. This facility taught me incredible cognitive skills to change my perception of my life. My counselor Cassandra was nothing short of amazing. She carved out time for me to get all my personal affairs in order so I could transition back into the world fully equipped and prepared. I don't understand all these negative reviews. Perhaps these individuals failed to embrace the process and program completely. I feel the facilitators were awesome. Only 2 times with a real counselor in 37 days there. The first shift treated me like i was an inmate more than a patient needing help. Second shift was amazing because they actually were in recovery. Counselors were violating HIPPA laws on clients as well. Be-littling us. Picked favorites and allowed one client to do things and reprimanded another for the same thing when we all watched it happen daily to both of them. The food made most people have diarrhea. A client smuggled heroin into the unit and was high the first 3 days. Nodding out in groups all day long and was never searched. Her room was never searched. I personally was not searched well on intake and had brought open cigarettes inside that could have contained drugs easily. You are not given any Alcoholics Anonymous books on the unit. There is no groups about Alcoholics Anonymous any kind of program except for the meetings from outsiders on weekends.. it was a horrible, money hungry upper management, lockdown jail type of rehab that treated us terribly like we were incarcerated. I would NEVER recommend or return here EVER again...
