It is a quite admiring garden centre, as they do grows everything from scratch themselves, as they have their own nursery which they care and to groww them, then move it on to the shop-floor, to sell them on. This Garden Centre have a vast ample of car parking facilitates which it tends to be quite full and busy during the sunny periods. Also it is placed on the stunning views over the picturesque Lunderston Bay and the Firth of Clyde, along with the Argyll and Bute hills in the distance, and also you would be able to find the mountain peaks of the Isle of Arran providing a spectacular backcloth to the area. They have the attractions of Patio Restaurant which are served all day either hot or cold, and you can choose where to sit, indoors or outdoors. (For smokers, you have to be at outdoors, which there are ashtrays provided!) They have a wide range of shrubs, trees, and fruiting trees, plants, and almost everything else which are sold in the centre. They also have a huge Water Gardening services, which they sell waterplants, and water related stuffs. Also sells fishes, and small anials, which they do sell Goldfishes, and other kind of fishes, such as Koi Carp, Black moors (my favorites!) and other fishes. For the Directions to get to there: it is right on the A770 coast road between Gourock and Inverkip. Opposite from the Lunderston Bay Beach. When the weather is really great, I would recommend you to cross the road to the Lunderston Bay to have a nice stroll along the beach. They also do have a bus service as well. As the pensioners dont drive and loves to go there, so there is bus service provided there, Which they dont have a bus stop at all. If you take a bus from Gourock to Inverkip, make sure you mention to the driver, that you want the driver to drop you off at the Garden Centre, they would be ore than happy to do that! Even if you want to catch a bus to go back to Gourock, just flag the bus down when you see one, and they will be more than happy to stop and uplift you on the bus!

Being more of a savoury fella overall, I don't often go in for cakes etc, but I decided to try the Apple & Cinnamon Scone with Butter & Jam. It was delicious, I have to say. They are expanding at the moment to allow more visitors to the cafe. I choose the bacon roll because it as a horrid wet cold day and it was the first thing i smelt as i walked through the doors. I also ordered a cappuccino. The cappucino was good as was the bacon roll, but did have to ask for brown sauce as wasn't asked at the counter when I placed my order. There was no problem as the server brought a decent portion in a wee dish out to the table. The bacon roll was tasty. The tearoom did feel a tad bit cold and only has one wood burner in a corner. I did think it was a wee bit expensive - 2 coffees, bacon roll and a scone with butter and jam came to £9.65. But the coffee and the bacon roll did warm me up. i think my mum enjoyed her scone and coffee too.

As far as garden centre's go Rouken Glen is one of the best. I'm not a big plant lover because they require care and attention and I am too busy caring for and attending to myself but, they don't just have plants at Rouken Glen! There is also a large gift shop which sells all manner of randomness from vases and candles to jewelry and mugs. The pleasant little coffee shop sells some yummy cakes and light lunch items. When I go to visit my wee 89 year old Granpa I take him to this coffee shop and he flirts with all the old ladies, sweet and disgusting in equal measures! My favorite thing about Rouken Glen is the Christmas section; it is a magical winter wonderland! I particularly like the outdoor Christmas light section, a little wonder around here is a great way to get you in the festive mood!

I was pleased to hear that when Caulders took over this location they came to arrangement to buy the business but lease the land from the Erskine Charity giving them a better return on their investment. There is a huge indoor shop selling a large array of candles, gifts, home decor and good prices books. At Christmas they have a huge selection of Christmas decorations - great for little ones to look at! There is a lovely outdoor area selling gardening supplies, plants and all you would expect from a garden centre. The staff are always super helpful and happy to answer any questions. The restaurant indoors has a good menu of freshly cooked food from soups to sandwiches to baked potatoes to lasagne... and a lovely selection of baked goods and sweet treats! All in all a great place for a bite to eat, for buying a gift for a friend or for beautifying your garden!

Look for other perennials and it is a different story. the walled garden is full of plants, many of them are pot pound and full of weeds. This shop is a great place to buy...well.....anything for you house at pretty good prices…read more The shop itself isn't too well organised and it does kind of feel a little bit like a warehouse than a shop and that there are things falling off lorries and ending up in boxes on the shelves. But when you get in and get a good root around, you'd be surprised at just what is on offer. There is pretty much everything that you'd need for a small garden and it's certainly cheaper than big retail park sized shops like B&Q. From bulbs, to spades, to blinds, to table cloths, to lamps and even dog food - this shop has it all. If you see something that you like or think you need then there is no point in putting it off until buying it the following weekend though as the turnaround of the stock is so quick that there's little chance the same item will be there.
