My Grandparents used to take me and my brother here when we were young and I can remember going pretty much every other day. Quite bizarre now I think about it, as they only had a tiny garden. This place is huge and you can get everything you could ever imagine for a garden, gnomes, compost, plant pots, you name it, it's all here. So if you're green fingered then head down to Rouken Glen Garden Centre to pick up a plant or two and maybe even some tips from the other plant fanatics.

As far as garden centre's go Rouken Glen is one of the best. I'm not a big plant lover because they require care and attention and I am too busy caring for and attending to myself but, they don't just have plants at Rouken Glen! There is also a large gift shop which sells all manner of randomness from vases and candles to jewelry and mugs. The pleasant little coffee shop sells some yummy cakes and light lunch items. When I go to visit my wee 89 year old Granpa I take him to this coffee shop and he flirts with all the old ladies, sweet and disgusting in equal measures! My favorite thing about Rouken Glen is the Christmas section; it is a magical winter wonderland! I particularly like the outdoor Christmas light section, a little wonder around here is a great way to get you in the festive mood!

Paradise of Flowers is a new florists located in the South Side of Glasgow, they always have…read morebeautiful flower displays in the window that always catch my eye. Whatever the occasion, they cater for all flower needs here, and they also have a delivery service, which is completely free! The staff are really helpful and friendly and if you have a specific bouquet in mind then they will be able to create it for you, if you don't have anything specific in mind then they will be more than able to create a beautiful bunch of flowers that you will love.

The staff certainly help this vibe through being really friendly, polite and chatty. As Eleanor has said they always have lovely displays and bouquets hence are more than happy to offer suggests to you. Alternatively, they can make your stumbling request (I know no flower names at all and they were extremely good at guessing from my rather strained descriptions) into a work of art. They also offer a range of very reasonably priced cards, wrapping and other small gifts. Look out for their selection of potted plants too, I got a lovely little Ivy plant for £1.49. Bargain!

I live in Broomhill and i never knew this little clandestine garden centre existed. The lead up to the main store takes you up a small passageway of flowers, plants and herbs - it's akin to walking up someone's drive onto their patio; however just a few paces further we were greeted by a friendly "if there's anything I can help you with folks, just ask". We had a wander round the "patio" area looking through the array of foliage they have for sale, noticing that they are actually situated between two houses, as if you are walking around someone's garden (not off putting at all, though). We headed into the main store, our eyes were met with a section covering everything to do with feeding, grooming and playing with pets; again greeted by another friendly gentleman asking if he could help; when you first walk into the shop it's imaginable that the main room is where it all ends, not the case! Round the corner there's a further section up a small ramp that sells cat beds, dog beds, fish tanks, food for all types of pets imaginably etc etc. Coming out of this little annex you come to a further segment of the shop within it concerned with "growing your own" raspberry plants, herbs, potatoes; all types you could think of, from earlies through to lates - again, at this point you think the store has come to an end, but no! a further installment reveals itself relating to all things in the remit of gardening tools. Being a little independent, local garden centre we expected things to be a little more expensive, but no; prices are very competitive - we walked round to Morrisons to compare prices after leaving here and they are more than comparable if not better prices in some sections. On our way out we had a quick chat with the two gentleman that greeted us on the way in, very friendly and happy to give us a quick history on the place (been around for 16 years!!) and what types of products they sell; letting us know they had a bigger place at one point just up the street, but due to the economic downturn is now closed. If you're looking for pet products, flowers, plants, herbs, grow your own vegetable kits, utensils etc - try driving past the big supermarkets and garden centres and give this place a try; quaint, cute, and has a very local and friendly feel.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.....sensory overload....cant shake images from mind.....close my eyes and…read moresee........EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would recommend giving this place a wide berth if your either hungover or feeling a little under the weather as it can be a tad.....eh, mental. One of those shops that sells just about everything you could imagine a shop selling and a little bit more, this place is quite possibly the scariest place i have ever seen. Need a statue of an African lady carrying a water jug on her head? go here. Need a dozen lighters? go here. Random other thing? go here. It really is that bizarre. I would recommend going to this joint and spending a fiver on a random piece of tat for your mates next birthday. Yes they will hate you, but it'll be totally worth it when they unwrap their incredibly life like Gorilla statue....

Well what's not to say about this Aladdin's cave of a place…read more Tourist's and locals in their droves stare in this store window with jaws hitting the pavement. Some of the delights you will see in the window? Well how is a replica of the titanic?, Billy Bass fish, wigs, dreamcatchers, virgin Mary statues, daleks, ornaments of staffy bull terriers and that breed of dog that is the same as Paul O'Gradys Buster, model trains and buses, a plastic dragon with red eyes that light up and wings that move back and forth, real life dolls, prayer books, hoover bags, Elvis statues ohh but to name a few. The real mystery of this place is that they actually sell everthing, every battery and light bulb, these guys have them all. If you went in with a missing bit of the Ark or you needed some bolts for a flying saucer these guys would pop through the back and mysteriously have them, all at discount prices!
