Extremely disappointed with Eye Surgery Associates - Weston…read more This was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional medical experiences I've ever dealt with -- and I wasn't even present. My daughter had an appointment, and since I was working, her grandmother (my mother) took her. The office called me to offer an earlier appointment due to cancellations -- which now makes sense. I explained my mother would bring my daughter and asked what she needed; they said "just her ID." No mention whatsoever that they don't accept insurance. Worse, I received both a text and email instructing us to bring the insurance card and be prepared to pay a copay -- strongly implying they accept insurance. My mother wasn't told otherwise at check-in. Only at checkout was she informed they don't take insurance and was forced to pay $120 out of pocket just to leave. Then came the unprofessionalism. Staff member Natty was rude, arrogant, and dismissive, even saying, "Are you gonna pay or not?" with zero compassion. Completely unacceptable behavior -- especially toward a grandparent accompanying a child. Dr. Cardone was kind and professional, and we appreciated his care. But due to the rude front desk, poor communication, and misleading billing practices, we will not return. As someone with over 10 years in the medical field, I know what proper patient care looks like -- and this office failed miserably in every way except the physician's care. I'll be reporting this and strongly advise others to get everything in writing and ask questions up front.

It's been a pleasure getting my PRK eye surgery done here! When it comes to the surgery itself, all in all my results were amazing and better than what I expected from the research I did online. My vision is sharper and in the 20/15 range and my eyes are more comfortable than with contacts. All of this kicked in within 2 weeks, much sooner than expected. My vision will reach its peak somewhere are 3-6 months from now, so I'm looking forward to even better results over time. Thanks Dr. Karp and Heather!

Dr. Arthur Fishman, M.D. is THE BEST ! Here's why:…read more I am a terrible eye patient; NO ONE TOUCHES MY EYES, let alone operates on them ! I knew from several Ophthalmologists that I needed cataract surgery. I kept putting it off, even though I had lost my ability to drive at night several years ago, and my daytime vision was compromised. I was referred to Dr. Fishman while visiting South Florida. His prestigious educational and professional background aside, FINALLY, a doctor that took the time to explain to me the mechanics of my eye condition; I had particularly bothersome subcapsular cataracts. Dr. Fishman explained the benefits and risks of cataract surgery, what I had to look forward to and he took the time to answer my numerous questions. He was very kind and empathetic and I felt immediate trust, so I decided on the spot that I found the right doctor to operate on my eyes! Dr. Fishman gave me several options for lens replacements and I opted for the Technis Intraocular Lenses by Abbott. With both of my two eye surgeries, after the dilation drops wore off, I looked around and my first thought was "I am liberated"! 20-20 Vision ! No more glasses and no more blinding cataracts! I was so happy after the first surgery, I asked to have the second one done the following week. The surgery itself was as described to me. The anesthesiologist told me "you will be awake but comfortable", but, I made sure to clarify that it was "twilight sleep". Which, as far as I am concerned as a layman patient, no, I was not awake, and if I was, I don't remember a thing; exactly as I wanted it. Post surgery, I had absolutely no discomfort. Vision was blurry until the dilation drops wore off. One of my eyes felt like there might have been a grain of sand in it for maybe an hour. Other than that, there was no pain, no nothing. If I wouldn't have been hit with the liberating sensation of "perfect vision" afterwards, I wouldn't have known that I had surgery at all ! Dr. Fishman's office is very efficient. My first appointment was within 7 days from when I first called. I could have been seen even sooner, however, my schedule didn't allow for it. Each time I've gone in, the office is well organized and the staff is efficient, courteous and helpful. I was given a thorough eye exam with the newest State of the Art testing equipment (non-invasive). In fact, had I not opted for cataract surgery, it was determined I needed a new RX for glasses, which was more precise than the RX I was given less than a year ago at another Ophthalmologist's office. I was given easy to follow pre op instructions by the surgery coordinator, who, also called me post op to see how I was doing. I called with a question a few hours after the first surgery and it was answered immediately. For both surgeries the staff at the surgical center were extremely efficient and helpful. They made sure I had followed pre op instructions, made me feel comfortable before the procedure and I was sent home with easy to follow post op instructions. And, they called to check up on me. My follow up appointments with Dr. Fishman post surgery went seamlessly. I couldn't be happier. Cataract surgery is supposed to be one of the "easiest" on a patient. Yes, that may be, but, it is still surgery, so having the best surgeon is important. Dr. Fishman is certainly that. The whole experience was perfect ! Anyone may contact me with more questions.

The entire Weston team is wonderful from the minute you walk in for check in and registration until you walk out with the check out process. I did not get the names of the fabulous ladies at the front desk earlier this week on Mon 7/6 or today 7/9. But check the schedule and give them props where praise is due. We were at Weston earlier this week so my other two kids could be checked by the pediatrician to get a referral for an allergist also. We saw Dr. Julian Lacey and he was wonderful, very attentive and friendly to the kids and they felt pretty comfortable with him. He took his time to check what kind of allergies were bothering the kids and tried to pinpoint everything before their visit with the allergist. Today we had an appointment for my oldest to see the allergist and get a skin test. Our medical assistant was Dayanis. She was absolutely wonderful and very down to earth and relatable. My 16-year old daughter took a liking to her right away because of her humor. I felt the same way and I'm usually always paying attention to small things, because it's always about the small things. I liked Dayanis immediately too. She helped check my daughter in and after the allergist saw her, she came back to do the skin test. She was great chatting it up with us and just keeping things light and fun. So thank you for that Dayanis. Dr. Janelle Sher was the allergist and she was great from the start as well. Dr. Sher introduced herself, then asked several questions to understand about my daughter's allergies and how we can address the issues at hand. She was patient and kind. After talking to my daughter, Dr. Sher suspected she may be allergic to raw fruits and veggies, however, she can eat cooked veggies. This is associated with OAS or Oral Allergy Syndrome. Didn't event know this was a thing. And I've had allergies my whole life. I just learned something new today!!! Fascinating. "Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS), also called pollen-food syndrome, is an allergic reaction caused by cross-reactivity between airborne pollens and proteins in certain fresh fruits, raw vegetables, and nuts. It most frequently causes rapid, mild itching or swelling of the lips, tongue, and throat." Once we discussed everything, the allergist wanted to get a skin test done. Dayanis explained the process, marked her back and then started pricking the skin on her back with possible allergens to see what type of reaction she gets. It's actually pretty cool. Waited 15 min for reaction and you can really see if each spot had any reaction by how red or raised it was. So crazy cool. Turns out she is allergic to dust, pollen, certain trees, cats & dogs. Wonderful experience all in all. Thank you to the Weston team. We may need to start coming to this location from now on. Appreciate the staff's patience, attentiveness and support to create a good experience for our kids!
