Only downfall was not knowing specifically who I was to check in with. As you talk to someone else via texting. Luckily a guy named Jamaris walked by and asked me if I needed help. Then he took it from there. I was able to drive the two vehicles in mind I wanted to. I didn't want to take of too much of their time as I wasn't planning to buy right then and there. He was kind to ask his manager if it was okay if I didn't own financing. To which they were cool with. Large facility and lot. I never been back that way. Had no idea their back road led back to Belleville west high school at Frank Scott. They offer 2 year warranties. I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding a discriminatory experience I encountered during the attempted purchase of a 2021 Hyundai Elantra SE from Cardinal Buick. On the morning of April 22nd, I contacted the dealership to confirm that the vehicle was still available and was informed that it was. I then began working with a representative named Brandon, to whom I submitted a finance application to verify my pre-approval with my bank. At 12:02 PM, I received a consent form outlining the agreed-upon terms: $500 down and $397 per month. I signed and returned the form at 12:12 PM. By 2:22 PM, I was informed that all necessary documents were complete and the next step was for me to visit the dealership to finalize the purchase. I confirmed I would arrive between 5:30 and 6:00 PM, but due to a last-minute Uber cancellation, I arrived at approximately 6:46 PM, after spending $62 on transportation. While en route, I received a phone call asking me to verbally confirm that I was still coming to complete the purchase, which I did. Upon my arrival, I was informed that the vehicle had been sold to another customer--a white family--who had arrived just 10 minutes before me. I was not contacted or given any indication that the vehicle might be sold to another party, despite having completed all required paperwork and even purchasing insurance for the vehicle in anticipation of taking it home that evening. This experience was not only extremely frustrating and embarrassing--especially as it occurred on my birthday--but it also raised serious concerns about the fairness and integrity of the transaction. I too had a very disappointing experience with the Service department. I brought my vehicle in with very detailed notes on what was happening. I even left the notes in the car for the technician. The sales lady was only interested in selling me a service package that had very basic inspection points. I agreed to have the inspection, as it was a used vehicle that I had just purchased elsewhere, but I was adamite about having the other issues looked at, even at an additional expense. When I arrived for pick up, nether of my issues were addressed, the notes were never even looked at and I was given a half-arsed explanation as to why the other issues could be happening. I took it to another mechanic locally and they identified and fixed all of my issues. I'd say I left very unhappy and would be hard pressed to return here. read more

They gave me a list of items that would be repaired before we took possession of the used vehicle, some recall items, and I assumed they'd fix these as if the car was going to their lot for sale, at their expense. NOPE! They charged me @$2000 for the repairs, none that I authorized. I've never bought a used vehicle from a dealer before so this may be normal business, therefore I can't slam them, but read everything, ask questions of everything. DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP! I was experiencing issues with my 2017 GMC Sierra 1500, which turned out to be the well-known transmission problem for this model year. I dropped my vehicle off at the dealership on December 28. On January 3, I was informed that the transmission had just been ordered. Three weeks later told it could be up to 3 months for a new transmission. Vehicle still sitting at dealership with no fix date. Then, I received a call--not from the dealership, but from the Belleville police--informing me that my truck had been left on cinder blocks and that my 22" wheels had been stolen while it was sitting in the dealership's parking lot. When I called the dealership to ask why the police contacted me first instead of them, they had no clear answer. When I asked what they planned to do about the theft, they simply told me I would need to file a claim with my insurance. The dealership has "duty of care" and now wants to back out of it. Guess they forgot about their garage keepers insurance. DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP TRUST ME WILL COST YOU MORE IN THE LONG RUN. THEY NEED TO FIRE THEIR MANAGEMENT ASAP! Please read before doing business with this company: I had a terrible experience with Cardinal Buick GMC. Initially, I took my car there for diagnosis of some issues and was quoted for both parts and service to fix them. I paid for the repairs, and they provided written confirmation that the issues were resolved. Just a few days later the same problems reappeared, but even worse. When I returned to the dealership, they charged me again for another diagnosis, which revealed the same issues as before. It was clear they hadn't fixed anything the first time even after written confirmation my vehicle was no longer misfiring. They quoted me again for the same work without offering any discount or acknowledgment of their previous failure. If you couldn't service the car right after the first diagnosis, why would I trust you to do it again without having issues? Ultimately, I lost trust in Cardinal Buick GMC and had to pay to have my car towed to another dealership. Where to start... when we first arrived at Cardinal, we waited approx 40 minutes before we were even helped. Once we finally got helped and we identified the car we wanted to test drive, it took them a good 30 minutes just to find the keys.... After we test drove, we negotiated, and after the negotiation process and paperwork the preowned manager comes in and tries to tell us he can't do the deal we made... AFTER WE SIGNED papers. We stuck to our original deal, and they reluctantly agreed. Upon driving the car home we realized there were numerous issues that they didn't disclose which somehow managed to get through their "thorough inspection". The brakes rattled, the front bumper wasn't secure, and the bluetooth we were told the car had was not functional. This car should not have been on the lot with all the issues it had. We took it back and they agreed to "fix everything". We wait two or three weeks, and they tell us it's done. Turns out, they didn't fix anything regarding the bumper, even though we were specifically told that there was a brand new bumper installed. You'd think that after that long of a wait that they could manage to fix the car... nope. We asked a multitude of times what they did to fix the brakes, and all they ever said was that the brakes were fixed. No paperwork from the service dept, just the word of the salesman. We're paying to get the bumper fixed at a local body shop, to the tune of $1500. Suddenly our "great deal" wasn't looking so great any more. Everyone is super nice here but WOW do they take a long time. My mom came here to test drive a car and buy it, and we got here at 2:09pm on a Thursday. We didn't end up leaving until 5:16pm! 3 hours. It was amazing. I left to go get groceries at Dierbergs which is a 21 minute drive away, came back, and my mom was still waiting to sign some papers and hand over her card. I got it scheduled to have a pre-vehicle inspection before I bought it, at Newbold BMW in O'fallon. The salesman said it was in perfect condition. Got the report back from BMW and said the car was smoking in their report. The car was beautiful on the outside, but internal, no bueno!! They sold be a Jeep Wrangler through www.cars.com that was a Canadian Jeep - meaning - and UNDISCLOSED to me- that there was NO manufacturer's warranty even though it was under 3 years/36,000 miles. It arrived with several latches broken (costing $281 and $648 to fix) and an faulty Instrument Cluster that will cost over $1100 to fix. All on a less than 3 year old vehicle. He had my credit ran before i signed off. Wow Worst dealership experience ever! After contacting a salesperson yesterday, providing all financials, identification, etc and agreeing upon a payment amount for the leased vehicle. We drive an hour out of our way to pick up the vehicle this morning. We arrive and meet Chance. Our salesperson. He immediately asks us "what we're looking for". My experience with Cardinal Buick GMC has been awful. I visited Cardinal on July 3rd, 2021 looking to test drive & purchase a 2021 GMC Terrain. My wife & myself arrived on time and met our sales person Joshua. Josh was very nice & helpful, we test drove 2 vehicles and settled on one within 45 minutes. Once the test drive was over, we sat down to discuss numbers. I showed Josh my pre-approval letter, we went back and forth with the finance manager a bit and decided on a price shortly after. After coming to an agreement on a price, and ordering $1000 worth of add-on accessories, we then sat in the lobby and waited for over 4 HOURS to finalize the financial paperwork. The finance person we worked with was great, we signed paperwork on were on our way. As we get ready to grab the keys and leave I noticed that one of the front tires of the vehicle was missing tire shine (the vehicle was being cleaned during our long wait). I asked the salesperson to please have the detail department put tire shine on the vehicle. Another 15-20 minutes in the waiting room, and he returns with our vehicle. That's when he informed me that he noticed the digital screen on the dash suddenly quit working (ironic timing). No big deal though, the car is brand new under warranty and the dealership will order the replacement parts. Fast forward to July 14th, I was informed that my accessories had arrived but not the replacement dash cluster (I was told it IS A RECALL but they cannot get the part currently). No big deal, I can wait a little longer for my part since I live 1.5 hours away I'd rather pick everything up in one day. Fast forward to July 30th, I contact the dealership again and am told that the dash cluster is still not in. So, I ask if I may come over on July 31st to pick up the accessories I ordered. I was told sure, no problem! I arrive at the dealership on the 31st and speak with the receptionist, she tells me that unfortunately, I cannot pick up my parts because the parts department is closed for cleaning due to multiple employees having COVID. At this point, I have finally lost my patience....after driving 1.5 hours to the dealership I ask to speak with my salesmen who told me I could pick up my parts on the 31st. Josh is paged from the back and meets me in the lobby, he was unaware of the parts department situation but ensures me I can get my parts. He then talks to his manager, they go into the service department and come back a moment later. Josh walks away, and the manager informs me that I cannot have my parts. I asked him if it was because of the COVID clean-up? He tells me no...it is because they are having new lifts installed in the shop...and that he does not have the key to the parts room. He assures me they will ship me all of my parts on Tuesday, August 3rd. As I type this out, I still do not have my parts, nor a tracking number. I have been unsuccessful at reaching the parts department yesterday or today. I have a $40,000 brand new car with a broken dash screen, nonworking steering wheel controls, and it's missing the $1000 worth of accessories I paid for. We bought our 2016 GMC Yukon in July 2020. The AC was not working, so they promised they would fix it. Supposedly it was a leaking compressor that they fixed. Here it is November and my AC is not working. I brought it in this morning and was told it would be an hour to diagnose it. An hour later (to my surprise) the service clerk told me they had it diagnosed and she would be "right back with your estimate." Did she say estimate? Shouldn't that be covered because it was a problem they promised to fix when we purchased the car? I figured she would be back in a minute... but it was literally 36 minutes before she returned with a $2000+ estimate!!! Umm, no. So I told her that was something that should be covered since it was in our purchase agreement. So she said she would "right back with the service manager." 15 minutes later, I was done waiting. My husband had called the manager, who told him they would fix it... for the $2000+ estimate! He said to bring me the keys immediately... shockingly she had my keys and car ready for me in 2 minutes. The diagnosis said this time it was a "leaking evaporator," so according to them it's a different issue. In my opinion, they did a quick fix this summer and charged it up with Freon so it would last a few months. We have had nothing but poor experiences and service since purchasing this car with this dealer. I really wish we had done our homework and found a repeatable dealer who does right by their word. read more

Through some seriously deceptive email my husband got from Matt Columbia, we were led to believe that I could by a new car at a payment that was the same as my current payment. So we thought new car at same price why not. They were giving "big discounts" because of hail damage. I went in there the following morning just to see. I knew it wouldn't work but we were assured that they would make it work. I sat there for over 3 hours, only for them to come back and say my the moment was going to be 50% more than my payment is now. My wife and I went to the dealership yesterday to purchase a new Sierra 1500 Denali. We test drive a white one that we thought was nice. The interior was a little different than what was expected so we looked at another one on the lot, Hunter was the color. After test driving that one we decided to pursue the purchase and went inside to talk price. The truck had a $2500 GMC rebate that everyone qualified for and the listing on line showed the dealership adding $4000 to it. I also qualified for $500 military discount meaning I should have been starting at $7000 in rebates. When we started talking numbers, Matt Colombo, the internet sales rep helping us, went to the sales manager and came back with their first offer. The offer was for far higher than what I was expecting and it showed in the lack of rebates. They were not honoring the full $4000 in discounts they advertised everyone was qualified for. When I questioned it and started to unpack their numbers, Matt informed me that since I didn't have a trade in the sales manager was penalizing me with a lower rebate. Matt threw another number out to me asking if I would agree to the sale at that price, which was lower then the managers offer. I continued to ask about why they won't honor the full rebate that was advertised and Matt went back to the manager again and came back with another offer sheet that was higher than the verbal offer he made and the rebate was still lower than advertised. Matt explained the sales manager won't move off the lower than advertised rebate because I didn't have a trade in. It was at this point I decided that I wouldn't do business and negotiate with a company that won't hold up to what they advertise. If you can't negotiate in good faith, I can't recommend doing business with them. DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE! Had my Cadillac CTS taken here for an oil change at first to which I was informed that I needed tires however the vehicle was fine to drive. Well that was incorrect after I had been driving the vehicle the differential exploded and I had the vehicle towed back to cardinal. To which I was informed that the differential damage was due to the tires which the service advisor told me earlier I was fine to drive on. After fighting and going back and forth with my advisor they finally replaced the diff under warranty and I purchased new tires from elsewhere. 2 months later now the differential has exploded again due to inexperienced technicians this dealership has employed and they are refusing to take any responsibility for it. The reason for the differential going this time is that there technicians did NOT TIGHTEN THE BOLTS properly on the vehicle. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!! read more

Decided to use this dealership as my first car buying experience from a larger dealership. Pretty much as expected and that's not a good thing. Salesperson did not know much about the used vehicle I was interested in buying. He didn't know anything about the history of the car other than what I could read from a Carfax report. Even though I put almost 25% down on the vehicle they worked it out so somehow my loan amount was for more than the selling price of the vehicle (lots of add on costs). So I'm upside down on the loan before I even drive it off the lot, and out lots of cash to boot. The final straw was the fact that my vehicle was undrivable after the dealership failed to send me the title before the temporary tags expired. So basically I bought a brick, at least for the time and they have no idea how long that time may be. Overall, just your typical dealership experience. They got their money so why should they care what happens after that fact? read more

Stay Away!!! I took my 2008 Buick Enclave there yesterday (4/18/19) for a timing chain issue (known problem with these cars, stretched at 128,000) and I was quoted $1500 to replace the chains at 12 hrs of labor. I was surprised at the low cost and told them I assumed it would be more because everything I read said the motor had to be dropped. He said no, we just jack it up a little and fix it like that. He acted like it was something they fix all the time and worst case scenario, if other parts need replaced, $2000. He called me today (4/19/19) and magically the price went up to $2700. His justification was that he didn't know what he was talking about when he quoted the price and now it will take 15 hrs to fix and the motor has to be dropped. So I asked what the labor rate was and was told $145/hour (which is crazy). So...how was the original price $1500 for a 12 hr job? That's $1740, not including parts. Needless to say, I chose not to have them fix it. I go to the stealership to pick up my enclave, they apologized, and then quoted me yet another price of $100/hr labor at 15 hours plus parts for a grand total of $2100. How can they just magically change the prices like that and why would this timing chain kit cost $600?!? Because they charge what ever they want and get over on innocent people on a daily basis, that's how. Well I'm not your typical female and I will not be taken advantage of and would advise you to STAY AWAY!! They also charged me $60 to diagnose my car when I already told them what the problem was. I understand that they still have to diagnose, but I wouldn't of had them touch it if they quoted me $2,700 from the beginning. I would have called other places to compare first. read more

Buyer Beware. I made assumptions that I shouldn't have when I purchased a previously-owned Cadillac from Cardinal Buick GMC. I assumed that the dealership would have inspected the vehicle's working parts for any looming problems. (apparently this was not the case) I assumed that a vehicle only 3 years old would not have any major engine/transmission concerns any time soon. (apparently this also was not the case) I assumed that the dealership would be able to assist me after the purchase. (this was DEFINITELY not the case). Literally, by the 27th day of ownership of the car the Check Engine light came on with a message of an issue with the transmission (not even 30 days into owning the car). I called the dealership and was told that the vehicle only came with a 15-day warranty. I was told by my salesman, Dave B., that he would check with the Service Department to see what, if anything, could be done, and he would call me back. That was yesterday and I'm still waiting on that callback. I'm having to take my vehicle to Firestone and pay to have a diagnostic run and then pay for whatever repairs are needed for the transmission. I haven't even made the first car payment yet. Lesson Learned: don't just assume that the vehicle has no problems and don't just assume that the dealership will help you after the sale (heads up: they won't) I won't make these assumptions ever again and I won't be going back to Cardinal Buick GMC ever again. read more

Buyer beware the extended warranty they sold me, which says GMC, is actually administered by AMT not GMC. Had one claim for faulty pistons and rings which warranty company rejected. My cost to fix 3K. By fhe way a different GMC dealer said definitely should have been covered. Should never have had problem in first place if car was not a limon. Canceled warranty, but took 2 forevers and a day to get a refund for warranty, no thanks to cardinal who were very little help. Only got partial refund. I recommend always buy certified preowned, skip the extended warranty, and buy from Jim Buttler in Fenton. They were much more accommodating. read more

My daughter lives and attends school in Florida. She flew to St Charles for Thanksgiving. While in town, she decided to lease a car from Cardinal Buick GMC in Belleville to take back to school. She leased it on November 26th. On November 28th, at 11 pm on a Sunday night, it died on Highway 70. Geico roadside had no tow trucks available. She had to leave it on the side of the highway. Cardinal towed it to their service department on Monday and replaced the battery. They said it had been replaced two weeks prior but the corrosion on the battery said otherwise. On December 1st, while my daughter was driving back to Florida, the car died on the highway again. Cardinal sent a tow truck to pick my daughter and the car up. This time it was the alternator. This should have been checked along with the battery the first time. She attempted to drive back to Florida again but the back tire was making a noise. On December 7th, a mechanic in St Charles checked it and said front and back brakes were shot. Monday morning, we call the service department. They wanted my daughter to drive the vehicle with no brakes from St Charles MO to Belleville IL and they would look at it in a week. I called the sales manager who leased my daughter the vehicle and he said he would send a tow truck right out and would talk to the service department every day until it was repaired. We gave them a week to fix it. I called the service department on Monday, December 13th. The car wasn't there and had never been picked up from the mechanic in St. Charles. Called the sales manager again who had it towed that day. During this time, we were told that they had no loaner vehicles due to the national vehicle shortage. The used car manager assured us that he'd reimburse my daughter for one month of the car's lease as she was unable to drive it for most of a month. She didn't ask to be reimbursed for missed work, for the gas money she had to pay friends, for the ubers she had to use. Just one month of the lease. Put oil plug in so tight that a 2ft breaker bar wouldn't break it loose. Would highly recommend staying of away from this place. Slower than a turtle also. Told me shocks were leaky so took to Laura Buick where they confirmed that the shocks were not leaky. Techs have no idea what the hell they are doing. Stay away from here.
