I'm assuming the owner refused me immediately saying even though it was slow, that they need more than an entire day! Not sure why they would refuse business especially on something that takes an hour at most. Rude and just poor customer service.

They did that, but also fixed everything else on my bike within about 30 minutes. That squeaking that wasn't fixed by cleaning and relubricating the chain? They figured out that the pulleys needed lubricated, and two minutes later the squeaking was gone. The back light that loves to fall off? Now it's securely mounted. The one old tube that's salvageable? Now it's patched and I have a better patch kit than I did before. The rear brake bracket that I hadn't even realized was loose, but definitely was? Not loose anymore. I probably would have had to drop my bike off and pick it up a few days later if I'd scheduled an appointment back home, but at Greenbrier Bikes I got it back up to an A level quick enough that I was still able to see not only the Green Bank Telescope, but also do a 4.5-mile-each-way jaunt up Bald Knob with the bike to test out the fixes and catch a fantastic view. On that not-especially-easy test, it did just fine. Overall it cost something like $46, which is a bargain compared to the city bike shops. While they do offer tune-up packages (also at quite reasonable rates), I really liked that they will also take a, "what needs done? we'll fix it" approach. And they don't try to sell you things you don't need, either. That chain with 1700 miles on it? They checked, still good. The air pump that I haven't been impressed with? They could've sold me a new one, but instead showed me a setting I didn't know it had that should make it more effective. They're community-oriented too. On Thursday they were down in Stillwell for a community event, and the guy who fixed my bike is the same guy who clears the fallen trees from the mountain trails I'd traveled the day before. So if you're passing through Marlinton on the Greenbrier River Town, or are in town for any other reason with your bike, swing on by and have them take a look at whatever issues it has that have been bothering you. If it can be fixed quickly, you'll probably be back on the trail sooner than you thought possible, and you'll be helping a bike shop right by the trail as well.

No sales pressure - just tons of information. Helmets available to borrow for taking bikes on a test ride before purchasing. Great variety of accessories. Staff also was very helpful in thinking through options for bike racks so we can get our bikes to the trails! Highly recommend. After reading several online reviews regarding this Café and Bike Shop, and considering them a bit…read morevague and thus misleading, I decided to visit in person to see for myself what this Bike Shop and Café was all about. While doing so, I discovered that those other reviews were providing lack of information that by doing so weren't doing justice to this extraordinary Café and Bicycle business. I arrived on the Wednesday morning of Christmas Eve, shortly after they had opened. Driving my Lexus through Winborne Street in Grandin Village, I made a turn on the right side of their large size building, and in the back was a relatively large parking lot with complimentary parking for customers of this Bike Shop and Café. Inside their spacious building, I found what I consider to be one of the best and most beautiful specialty stores that I have ever seen in my life. And one of the classiest Café around, with a menu developed with the assistance of the executive chef of the award winning River & Rail Restaurant in the Cristal Spring neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia. As one enters the clean and elegant establishment, the first thing one notices is the beautiful shiny floors and the gigantic size chainrings ceiling lamps that hang from the black painted ceiling. Next to the large windows are some tables and chairs of the Café. And right in front of the Café counter there is a cozy, comfortable space, conversation Nook, with a rug defining the area, an eclectic combination of furniture including a sofa, a pair of comfortable chairs, and a beautiful wood handmade coffee table. And today it is also adorned with a lighted Christmas tree. Behind this in an open space building is the counter of the Café surrounding the walls of the kitchen. All around the rest of the open space of the building are bicycles and accessories for sale, and in the back, the bicycle Service department. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the quality of their products and food. There, behind the counter of the very classy Café, I was able to meet the owner of the place who had a very welcoming and elegant personality, a reflection of the establishment itself. He showed me the menu and I ordered the Cardinal Brunch Burrito, that contained chorizo, among other ingredients. And to drink I ordered the Mocha Coffee Smoothie. These out of an exquisite items menu. Everything tasted amazingly delicious, and the generous portions filled me up. The very pleasant ambiance and the warm and friendly, hospitable personality of the owner, created the perfect environment for an extraordinary dining experience.

He offered no input as far as what we mens gloves versus gloves for women, etc... No suggestions. All he was intersted in was chatting with the cyclers that apparently are 'regulars' and deemed more apt then my husband and me. We did purchase gloves and when being checked out we were asked if we were attending Gofest. When told no (had other plans) we were chastised. This is the second time I've been to this location with no offers of help and very unfriendly personnel. I will not come back here or the other location. Amazon is just fine to order apparel and the Trek store on Brambleton offers exemplary customer service.

I see that other reviews from several years ago mention terrible service as well. Great to see hokie spokes hasn't changed. Incredible way to maintain a business!
