Easily one of my favourite places to nerd out at. And DEFINITELY my favourite place to nerd out at…read morein the GTA. Legends has extremely competitive pricing (Games Workshop stuff usually 20% off!) and a very nice selection of board games, comic books, cards, minatures, and geeky merch (I definitely picked up a Rainbow Dash mug on my last visit here.) If they don't have something that you have your eye on, you can connect with them to see if they will order it for you (which they likely will, if they can!) Really flexible hours of operation, open late many nights of the week, and there are constantly events occuring here. They have a fairly large, well-lit, and clean gaming space in the back. Customer service here is quite friendly. I'd HIGHLY reccomend checking out Legends if you are in/around the Vaughan area to get your geek on :).

It's like Walmart lol you go in for one thing and leave with 10. There's a pretty good selection of board games, both popular and obscure. If they don't have what you're looking for they'll gladly order it for you and give you a call when it comes in. The guys who work there are all very nice and very knowledgeable. The first time I came, I was still fairly new to tabletop gaming so I wasn't sure what to get. I had my eyes set on Agricola but after talking to the associate I realized I wasn't ready for such a heavy euro game just yet. The associate asked us what we liked and then basically went through their entire collection with us, pointing out and explaining various games that he thought would appeal to us. You don't get customer service like that anymore! All the games are also much cheaper than you would find at Chapters or Mastermind Games. They've also got tons of other nerd stuff like comic books, figurines, and superhero paraphernalia. The store is located in the back of the plaza so it's difficult to find if you don't know where to look.

Checked out 401 Games in Vaughan, usually go to the one in Yorkville. I shopped at 401 for years…read moreand it does have one of the best prices around. Ordering online for in-store pickup was seamless. The staff knows their stuff, and the Boxing Day deal extended in-store for longer was tempting to pick up another Dominion expansion game. Had to ask for the game I wanted though; it wasn't out front. At the end decided to stick with what I've got for now since it's more than enough for me given my schedule. The customer service is excellent. I learned that board game prices have been increasing over the years, partly due to costs, especially for games with plastic pieces. Some games also require a minimum listed retail price so it's beyond their control when they increase price. The store's massive with plenty of parking and a large area designating for shipping and handling--unsure if it's always there or just for the holiday rush. Loads of tables for card games and such. The only downside is that I didn't spot a dent in my box till I got home. I mean I guess it's not a big deal for most but I'm a bit of a stickler and the type of gamer that would sleeve their cards on some of their games. Lesson learned: inspect your pickups before leaving!

God knows if they switched the packs inside. Cant trust online order with this business anymore...

Great board game store to visit with a date or group of friends…read more Came here in person at rush hour to pick up a game, as I didn't want to pay for shipping online. It's located in Richmond Hill in the business/warehouse district off a windy road called West Beaver Creek. The address is easy to find, lots of free plaza parking, it's next to a kids dance studio and very visible store sign. Nothing sus like another yelper stated. Inside is very spacious, clean and bright. I love how organised the shelving for new games were laid out and they even more games in back. Off the walk in, I was greeted immediately and four employees were excited to help me. They are game experts and could name off suggestions for games quickly, to pair with similar games I had in mind. Super fun to nerd off in the board game world here! I always cross reference with boardgamegeek.com first when planning to new purchases, but asked them in person to see if opinions lined up. I was impressed one employee was quick to suggest ones I never heard of. Prices are good to fair. I felt no pressure to buy anything there, they even offered if I wanted to test ones that they have opened or to get a feel of the pieces(card game quality for kid durability is real). I left with buying three games I had eyed online, and excited for the suggestions for the next visit. They have a free loyalty program, can't hurt to sign up when you're a board game investor, as this is one place to bookmark. No food or cafe noticed here, unlike other board game places. Maybe one day as they are still new.
