Food: 5 Value: 5 (arguably a 6/5)…read moreService: 5 Ambiance: 3.5 The single greatest Italian cuisine meal I've eaten to date. We found this restaurant through Google Reviews and generally had high hopes, but were blown away by the experience. We ordered salads to share, drinks, and pasta before a tiramisu - I went for a seafood pasta (see pictures) and negroni. We definitely could have avoided getting the two salads; portions were massive and we ended up not finishing either salad. My main course was delicious. The pasta had a zesty, fresh flavor between the lemon, olive oil, parsley and tomato, but the welcome surprise was seeing mounds of mussels, clams and shrimp inside the dish (I'm from New York and expected maybe 10 total) that took me almost 5 minutes to deshell before I went to town on it. Cocktails were excellent - hard to see from the photos but huge and delicious. Resulted in a great midday buzz. Limoncello spritz was also good but perhaps too strong for a lunchtime drink. Other courses ordered: - Lamb ravioli - Had 1-2 bites and tasted good, but probably a 3.5-4. Not really up to my palate and compared to my own entree, hard to beat :) - Carbonara - Solid. Incredibly rich and this was an entree where the large portions actually hurt more than helped - Salads - Hard to tell bc I was full of pasta Minor ding if anything is the ambiance. It's a block or so away from the crazy shore of Como but still was getting a bit loud by the time we left. Not a real complaint and didn't affect our experience, but if you're looking for a more quiet and relaxed experience you might want to go to a less touristy area. Thank you for a lovely meal!

Horrible service and food. Served us rotten food and didn't not exchange our food. Do not recommend.read more

As the previous Yelper did, I think this place deserves 3.5+ but I'll err on rounding up as opposed…read moreto down. We found Orologio while visiting Lugano for the day. Being so close to Italy, you can tell Lugano has a heavy Italian influence both in the culture, language and food. So it was no surprise that although in Switzerland, we still found good Italian food. The atmosphere has a bit of an upscale feel which just seemed to fit in well with the rest of how Lugano feels. We didn't have reservations but we had no problem getting in. For starters, they brought us out some cold cut meats and bread to try to try. It was a nice touch and though one person in our party was vegan and couldn't eat the meat, the rest of us devoured it all and enjoyed the offering. For my dish, I ordered the spaghetti alla gricia, which is essentially spaghetti, cheese and ham. It was delicious and I suggest you order it. The menu changes, I believe, daily so be sure you were given the right menu. At first we were given the wrong one which made for some confusion when the dishes ordered weren't available. Thankfully, it was remedied quickly. The restaurant does tout having vegetarian and vegan options which wasn't really true when we go there. Though they have symbols for both options, nothing on their menu had these symbols on it...how odd. The waitress and chef were accommodating and made a special meal for my friend but I think in the future if you're going to say you have a separate menu for these dishes, at least include a couple of dishes in the main menu. The price was fairly spot on to how expensive Switzerland is. About 22 chf for my meal and same for the others.

Score: 3.5+ This…read morerestaurant was recommended to us by the guy at the reception in our hotel in Como. We were seated in a very busy room, rather close to one another, but no problem. The service was very friendly, correct and informal. We were very much pleased with the contact with our waiter. The dishes followed at a correct pace. We got a freebie dish before our main course ("focaccia", but it was rather a blind baked pizza dough cut in pieces), not bad. The food itself was ok, but nothing more. Simple, and tasty. PS, this is an update to the very short draft I wrote earlier on.
