When we got to Procida, we went to Marina di Corricella and walked by the waterfront restaurants trying to decide where to eat. La Lampara sits high above the marina providing a nice view. But I can not say enough about the amazing food experience. Don't waste your time and money on the standard dishes. This place and it's food we ordered you can not find anywhere in the US. I will never forget what we ate. We had the Seafood Caprese to start. It's two mozzarella filled with anchovies and smoked swordfish. My wife order the seared tuna and I had the fried salted cod. Each were excellent and well worth it. But the dessert was something I will never ever forget. The lemon tiramisu!!!!! Excellent food. I told my wife that when I grow old and suffer from dementia, I will likely forget everyone's name but I will never forget La Lampara. :-)

But mostly great. The star of my dinner was the octopus! Which was also fresh catch of the day. I saw them being dry outside during the day! A lot of octopus! I had octopus in various dishes. From grilled, fried to salad! Loved them all. Frito misto ( mix seafood fried) was amazing! All the seafood of the day! Fried perfectly! The grilled prawns were amazing. And it took over 2.5 hours. Italian style! Slow and delicious meal! Outside! Perfect weather! Perfect music! What's not to love.

We were a party of 54 people and enjoyed so many delicious foods from Sardines, Calamari, Eggplant, Tomato Salad, Pastas, Chicken, Swordfish... I can't even remember them all. Each dish more delicious than the last. We also enjoyed a glass of Prosecco to start with and each table had the house red and white wine for everyone. Well, we'd heard a thing or two about the Italian's pizza expertise, so we went for it, our first -- and one of the most memorable -- pizza sessions of our stay, on or off the mainland. This is just my take, but seems to me most Italian restaurants get the whole Napolitan recipe right. The secret to marvelous pie is forking into the whole thing as soon as it comes outta the oven, like, as close to burn-your-tongue as possible.
