Great concept but fundamentally flawed.
The customer service is great... after everything has gone wrong and when they don't want to reply to an email or pick up the helpline, they won't.
They're system should be automated but 80% of the hires I've had, I've had to call them after (on their premium rate number) and get them to end the rental because of issues. Once they didn't even pick up in the middle of the day, causing a £30 charge on my account.
- I hired a car that was "Dead" on arrival - the reader was turned off.
- A car that was reported to be in bad condition inside because someone had thown up in it, was still the same a week later (coincidence I hired the same one again!)
When I do speak to someone on the phone they are apologetic and nice and sort it all out. On email they are pathetic, not even reading what has been said.
They are very convenient. Though they are not cheap. A 7 minute costs £2.50 and they charge from the second you swipe the card, not when you turn it on. so it's about 75p just to get in and out. Then another couple of £'s calling to sort out the problems. Considering the hassle, I'm not intending to use them much anymore.
Unfortunate but it's not worth the stress. Hope others have a better time with them as I stand by the concept and part of the customer service. read more
