Leticia Fernandez is the owner of this place and she is the rudest person I have ever met. This coffee shop is right next to where I would park to get to class so sometimes I would stop in to get a coffee on the way or sit and get coffee and study. Today I was sitting in there doing studying at eating some food I had with me and drinking water. I was panning on ordering an iced chai after I finished my water I just wanted to get through drinking it first. That's when Leticia Fernandez came up to me and said I had to buy something then and I was being rude (I had literally only been in there for 5 minutes). I told her I had been planning on it and showed her my capybara points that showed I was a semi regular customer. She scoffed at me saying "some people have way more" She then said she saw me eating sushi from Publix once there (let me tell you this was on their patio for 5 minutes max and no one was out there and it's a public space) Being in a college area where UTK students find places to sit and study should be expected and when I've literally spent so much money on their overpriced coffee there I would expect to be treated with respect. Well now I have no respect for this business and lady it was not me being rude it was you. If I you as a customer are not wanting to get berated and called rude by a passive aggressive money hungry lady then do not go here. Do not support Leticia Fernandez's business because she is a greedy owner. I guess I will never get an iced chai from here again, oh well it wasn't even that good anyway there's plenty of coffe stores better than them in Knox.Oh also she said I was taking up space at a table and they have a crowded atmosphere when there were still many tables open and it's not my fault you set up the space the way you did, what's even crazier is that I was going to pay for an expensive coffee from them until she berated me. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT GET THE ORANGE ESPRESSO TONIC ICED DRINK. It taste like vomit in a cup! And they would not exchange it for another drink that didn't taste like a sin to coffee. I guess they don't understand what good customer service looks like. However, the bourbon caramel latte was very good both hot and iced and the carrot cake muffin (don't remember the name of it) was also very good! I would have given them 5 stars if it wasn't for that awful tonic drink and bad service. It was a cute place, I would go back. Got a medium honey latte and it was perfectly made- and not overly sweet- which is how it should be. The owner waited on me- by chance- and she was super kind and friendly. Their seasonal drinks are so good - make sure to try the pumpkin spice latte when it's in season (they make it with real pumpkin, and it's SO much better than the usual, artificial pumpkin flavor people use). Let's start with the two stars they are for the nice staff and the muffins are good The coffee sadly is very over priced considering the flavor. If you are doing cold brew you can use anything but the important thing is the after effects that being side cold brew is best done with medium roast or darker not blonde or light. While visiting UT campus, I headed over to this coffee shop. It was easy to park in the garage and access from it or you can access from the street as well. The owner was very helpful and let me taste the coldbrew lemonade before purchasing a cup. It was delicious! I ordered it and the she assisted in selection of a bag of coffee based off MY preferences. She also ensured I had a grinder since it was while bean coffee. If I did not have a grinder, she said they would be able to assist. Definitely check this place out. And try their cold brew lemonade. I found out later they have this by the jug now. A personal friend of mine had a meeting for an internship where their bosses happened to choose Capybara. They didn't buy any coffee because it was later in the day and they were only there for a short time for the meeting. The male owner of this cafe followed my friend outside of the cafe, tugged on his jacket and started cussing him out and getting in his personal space *with COVID in mind* I can understand the argument that if you are going to be present within a building of a company, you should contribute in some type of way like tipping or buying a water battle, something minor. But to cuss a civilian out in an unprofessional manner without warning or respect is not tolerable. This is a new contender for the Knoxville coffee scene. It's a small and cozy place to sip coffee and chill. Very close to campus and is in the same shopping center as Walmart. The coffee itself was just okay. I've had it a couple of times now, to me it not the freshest coffee I've ever had. However, it is way better than the fast food coffee that is in the area. The taste of the coffee is more acidic than other coffee houses in the area. The cold coffee is more acidic than the hot pout over. This would be what I suggest getting if you are wanting just coffee. The owner is very friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. The store is very clean and modernly decorated. The rest rooms are spotless, which is a plus! *Tip: They do accept Apple and Android Pay, so easy to pay! Yay! All in all, it's just alright. They have a delightful brazillian coffee that is so light and flavorful that the smell of goodness brought me inside while running some errands. Coffee is great, however, customer service is not. Owner was not open for me to sit and do homework outside (in a 40 degree weather, when it was empty and no one else would sit outside) while I waited on my girlfriend to get her nails done upstairs. He said that it was "ridiculous to want to wait on her in his coffee shop". Even when I told him that we would get drinks there when she got done. We have bought stuff there before (to-go) and it has been amazing. However, his rudeness was unwarranted and we are certainly not going back to a place where we are not welcome. This is one of my new favorite coffee shops in Knoxville. I love that, since it's new, it's a wonderful place to study or relax because it's a lot quieter than a lot of the other coffee shops. The staff has always been very friendly and welcoming to me whenever I come in. I've only ever had their lattes, but I think they're delicious. They're my favorite lattes I've tried at any Knoxville coffee shop. When flavored, they're a little on the sweet side, but that's how I like mine. So I would suggest asking for less syrup if you don't like your flavored lattes that sweet. I love VG's bakery, and I'm so excited now that Capybara carries their pastries. Definitely need to stop in and try a muffin. I love that the shop is easily accessible and has a lot of parking in the garage, because that's hard to find downtown.
