He ordered a prolactin test (which cost $150) and said he'd call me on Monday with results and next steps. There was some delay over the weekend -- he didn't call personally but sent a letter referring me to a specialist. I was initially frustrated and even drafted a negative review. However, he ultimately sent in the prescription for tamoxifen I had requested. I'm now starting treatment and hopeful it will help prevent further progression while I address the root cause. He listened to my concerns, reviewed my labs, and provided the medication once the additional testing was complete. Grateful for the help and relieved to finally have relief in sight without jumping straight to surgery. Thank you!

With Dr. Konakis, I had just that. She didn't tell me what to do, she worked with me to find a solution we were both comfortable with. I recently moved to Vegas and, as such, had to change doctors. The doctor I have here is okay, but he's nothing like she is. I miss her terribly. Two things I didn't like: the wait to see her could be weeks, unless something was really wrong (I.e. not just a check up). Not her fault, she's popular. Second, some of her office staff were frustrating. One of the receptionists is kind of mean, and it was difficult to get message to the doctor if you spoke with certain people. But those are really minor things, and completely worth dealing with.

Very calm and patient and explains things clearly and listens to you. He is very casual as well, so you don't feel intimidated and are open to ask questions and get any clarification as needed. All the other staff has been very friendly as well, I've never waited too long for an appt. and I also don't wait too long in the exam room. This is basically a concierge style medical practice that allows for a better option to see your physician when you need to. There is a cost associated to this level of service, but given the current healthcare climate, I think it is money well spent. This allows Dr. Smith to actually know what ailments you might have or how to maintain or improve your health. With the MDVIP program, Dr. Smith has an opportunity to know your name and your comprehensive health history, not just reading your chart. This is a very custom approach to medicine that you don't see in most doctors offices. The wait to see Dr. Smith is usually very short. If you call to set up an appointment, often times you can be seen the same day or the next day depending on his schedule. In most cases once you walk in, you will be directed to the separate waiting area for Dr. Smith's patients that includes bottled water, TV, and light healthy snacks. The longest I have had to wait is around five or 10 minutes. The nurse will come and get you, take you to an exam room, and talk about what the reason for your visit is and to take your vitals. Dr. Smith is generally prompt with his appointment times, and wastes little time getting to see you. I have been a patient of Dr. Paul Smith for several years and know he is a real person, and talks to you like a real person. He knows about you and your family, and how your health affects both. He enjoys athletic activities, and often shares stories of his recent adventures. He is passionate about the care he provides to his patients, and does everything he can to understand what ails them or how to improve their overall health. There are numerous opportunities throughout the year to interact with Dr. Smith with outdoor activities, cooking seminars, or trying new athletic activities to help provide alternatives to a sedentary lifestyle. Another component of the program includes an annual wellness check. This is similar to a baseline physical, that evaluates your comprehensive well-being and is way more thorough. I have been a patient of Dr. Pauly for two years. He is in a concierge practice. You pay a fee…read moreabove and beyond your bill and in exchange he limits the number of patients he see. I think the current additional fee is approximately $700. The benefit to me is that for every appointment, he spends approximately 20-30 minutes. Before I have gone in, he reviews his notes from our last appointment and makes sure everything is covered. I don't know if he is taking new patients now, but if he is, sign up. It is worth the additional expense.
