Always a great experience! We've been bringing our rescue pup, Gracie, to Petco for the past six…read moreyears, and she has always been treated with kindness and genuine care. For years, this was where she received her routine shots and Simparica Trio every six months, and the staff consistently made her feel comfortable and welcome. In October, we transitioned her to a full-service veterinarian after noticing symptoms that a shot clinic couldn't address. Even so, Petco has continued to be an important part of her care and well-being. The recommended food options have helped tremendously with her allergies, and every visit feels like a positive experience for her--she always gets to make new friends, try new treats, and pick out new toys. On our most recent visit, we purchased Merrick Beef, Bison, and Sweet Potato dry food, and I'm truly hopeful it will continue to benefit her as she turns 7 this April. We also picked up Blue Buffalo wet food, choosing the Porterhouse and Filet Mignon pâté flavors, which are perfect for her small teeth. Every product recommendation feels thoughtful and well-suited to her needs. Recently, our veterinarian discovered that Gracie has a heart murmur, so we're doing everything possible to keep her healthy and comfortable for as long as we can. It was an emotional time for our family, so of course we spoiled her a little--with treats and even a new pet fish "brother." I picked out a stunning royal blue and red Delta Tail male betta fish who is perky, active, and absolutely beautiful. I also found a hydroponic tank setup so he can peacefully coexist with marble queen pothos clippings, which is both functional and visually gorgeous. I have 125 plants inside our home so selecting just the right plant took me a few days. Lol... I highly recommend the Petco North Charleston location. The staff is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly cares about both pets and their people. Whether you're managing a senior pet's health needs or just adding a little joy to your home, this location delivers every time. Luckily, they were very patient, friendly, and super knowledgeable. They even gave me a little mini tour. Speaking of good customer service, on my second visit, I met one of the owners and the same can be said about him. He was just a a great person, overall. Passionate about his business and really down to earth. I could literally talk to him all day. So with that said, this place is amazing! It's bright and airy, fun, clean, and very well stocked, without making it look cluttered. And everything is of great quality. As for the treats, they have a freezer to the left that's full of birthday cakes, cupcakes, and other small cake-like treats. There's also a display case that has a creative display of dog biscuits. It's always a pleasant surprise to see what the chef has created. So far, I've seen burgers/ fries, paws, bones, signs, donuts, and many other colorful designs. I recently went to Michaels for their Cinco de Barko event and they even had themed treats for that! Churro sticks, taco, sombrero treats, as well as a bone broth "margarita" that even came in a mini glass! Too cute! Lol. Speaking of the treats, they have a very nice commercial kitchen with a huge window, so you can see the chef in action. Seriously, their kitchen is nicer and cleaner than what I've seen in a lot of restaurants. If that's not enough, they also have bones/ cowhides, a great selection of chew toys, clothes, beds, and even a dog tent! Finally, around the back of the store, you'll find the grooming area. It also has a seperate entrance, making it easily accessible from the rear parking lot. As for grooming, they offer all grooming services that you can think of and they also have an impressive selection of grooming supplies. All in all, Michaels Barkery exceeded my expectations in every way possible and this is a true one stop shop!
