We left out of Loughman Lake Lodge which was a beautiful setting & I enjoyed sitting out on the deck of the restaurant eating while we were waiting to go & enjoyed a cold beverage after we got back... It was nice to go places that weren't used by bigger & more commercial operations, felt like it had a more personal touch, We saw gators & a few really big ones, lots of different types of birds my only regret is that we did the 1 hr tour & that went by quick so I would recommend doing at least the 2 hr if not longer if you want to really experience the waters less traveled... They have a campground onsite as well & I'm hoping to bring my camper next time I"m down this way & will be taking another ride to explore some different areas..

Our favorite part - the dolphins riding the wake. They were sooooo close! That was actually the best part of our entire trip to Cedar Key, so when you are there... it's a must! Nothing on their website about it when I booked but good on them; I just Love seeing the city healthy and vibrant and happy, happy, happy again. After about a half hour of nerve wracking hunting, we called them to see what all we could do. We were still about a half an hour early. Turns out, nothing! They got us. @!#?@! Our request to reschedule was warmly yes, we could ...but then was coldly nooo, because we were too late after whatever return window we booked in. So better be sure, if you're booking and coming up on the same day. It's not like we were a no-show, or cancelled on short notice, or even changed our mind; we actually made the two hour round trip and drove around for about half an hour looking for parking. Whatever, that's how they do business here and they can Cedar keep it. We will never know the joys of their tour even though we paid for it. Buyer beware, my friends.

Unfortunately the boat they gave us was TERRIBLE and I'd be embarrassed if this were my company. The boat was dented up outside (not a big deal) the seats were ripped and foam coming out, the floor and seats had mold growing all over it. I would never rent this boat to anyone advertising my company on it, truly an embarrassment. We've used Cedar Key Island Tours many times in the past and will definitely return to them and steer clear of Cedar Key Marina II.

Jason texted (three of) us to forewarn about the expected crappy weather day on 24th March....the advice is still ringing in my ears "BRING ADEQUATE RAIN GEAR"....of course I didn't. No sweat / great story. 25th was a great day..plenty of fish and sunshine, perfect day on the flats. Jason is considerate with his charter rates and if you're a vet. I'm so glad I hired Tracy Collins and Saltwater Outlaws to take us around Cedar Key. My son caught innumerable catfish, 3 redfish, a Spanish mackerel, 3 blacktip sharks, and a bonnet head shark. I caught way too many catfish and a lady fish. We had so much fun!

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour because it's not a big boat like the others but will fit about 8-10 people. There were 6 including myself on this trip. Matt was super cool and a funny tour guide. He showed us so many of the keys and he knew a lot about the birds and the history of Cedar Key itself. I also appreciated the fact that when he didn't know an answer, he simply admitted that he didn't know--he didn't try to make something up. The tour was $30 and lasted about 1.5 hours. He even took us to see the lighthouse! It was a lot of fun.
