After about a half hour of nerve wracking hunting, we called them to see what all we could do. We were still about a half an hour early. Turns out, nothing! They got us. @!#?@! Our request to reschedule was warmly yes, we could ...but then was coldly nooo, because we were too late after whatever return window we booked in. So better be sure, if you're booking and coming up on the same day. It's not like we were a no-show, or cancelled on short notice, or even changed our mind; we actually made the two hour round trip and drove around for about half an hour looking for parking. Whatever, that's how they do business here and they can Cedar keep it. We will never know the joys of their tour even though we paid for it. Buyer beware, my friends.

Captain Tom was our skipper, and was very knowledgeable of Cedar Key, and the surrounding islands. You can pack a lunch, & drinks to enjoy while onboard. He can also drop you off to another island, to spend a few hours, & pick you up later, if you wish. We opted to stay on the regular tour, accompanied by pods of playful dolphins that were entertaining us along the way. The pontoon boat has a canvas cover that you can sit under. If you like the sun, it can be pulled back, or sit up front to enjoy the best view. Sunset cruises are also available.

I've been keeping my boats at their Marina for some years now, and have compared their facilities and amenities (and cost!) to other marina's along our coasts -- none compare. The Sea Hag may have a shiny newsletter, but they don't even have truly covered storage (that is locked up at night), they cost more, and don't offer other services when your boat gets put in/taken out. The owners are also very open to any feedback and suggestions, and are people who have devoted themselves to the success of this Marina -- they are fully committed. Given the costs the downtown Marina charges for launching, and the hassle of dealing with trailers, keeping your boat here is a no-brainer; it practically pays for itself. Also, the fishing in Cedar Key is hard to beat; incredible inshore and offshore fishing, plus dive sites, all within better range than other ports, with the closest proximity to Gainesville, Fl.

Elizabeth took us to Lemon Tree Gift shop first where you have an opportunity to see so may unique gifts many produced by local crafters. We also spent time in the Artisans Art Gallery (most of us went back to either of the stops after the tour because we had seen something to purchase). However, the highlight was the four restaurants on the tour where we were treated to such incredible food pairings. Trust me when I say, no one left hungry! We were treated to unique American dishes, BBQ, seafood, and home made doughnuts and ice cream.
