We're to blame for not starting off with a full tank, but we're not perfect. This gas station and mini mart rescued us on what was a really hot/humid summer day. As another yelper has written, there are few options available in this neck of the Allegheny's thick woods. So, thank you, Nittany MiniMart. After fueling up, we walked inside to what's a well-stocked convenience store that's fairly large, with the "Nittany Cafe" staring us in the face and good smells coming from its kitchen. Sometimes after a stressful experience, a bit of food and drink is what's needed to recover. Had a tasty turkey sammie combo, expertly made and toasted, and reasonably priced. The menu is pretty extensive, actually. There's 2 seating options: an inside dining area with good AC or outside, with picnic tables and umbrellas. Bought more provisions before departing (with a full tank this time). And a new lease on the day. I won't forget, and am grateful for, this place!

Sheetz, Benner Pike, State College, PA…read more After a long night shift, I used the drive-through to order a bagel with cream cheese. In the dark, I could see the bagel was oddly wrapped, like shrink-wrap around the small looking sandwich? The first bite was shockingly tough, extremely dry and tasteless. The cream cheese was absorbed into the dried-out bread, there was no taste of cream cheese, I could not finish it. This was no over-sight. They were not busy. That sandwich has been exposed to the environment for days, and God knows what else. The Sheetz kitchen staff purposely served this disgusting object to me. Is Sheetz telling their kitchen staff to eliminate waste at all cost?

I had heard rumors of Sheetz locations without the gas station, but that's all they were for a…read morewhile. They were suppose to open one in Pittsburgh near the Pitt campus, but that has yet come to be. Since I was in State College and out walking the streets I figured I would find the mythical beast that I have heard of. My first attempt at finding it, I walked right past it. You see, growing up in a small town that had one of the original looking Sheetz out there, you automatically are looking for gas pumps and big, shining, humming lights in the parking lot. Not an urban looking cafe thing that this particular one is. Don't get me wrong, every so often when I get that craving for some Sheetz I really don't want to have to fight my way through a parking lot full of vehicles to get my food, I just want to be able to eat it before I get it home and it has already started to cool off a bit. My second attempt, armed with my handy dandy map on my phone, I still walked right past it. Yep, that's right, that was me that you saw do an about face while looking at my phone screen. The building blends in so well that I thought it was a coffee shop at first. Glad I looked up from my phone for a few seconds. Watch your step coming in here, with the grade of the street the stairs a bit weird, but there is also a ramp to get to the store. Once inside you find that it is longer than it is wider. Due to this, it feels much bigger than what you would imagine. This is like a huge convenience store, with some fast food. But then add in the fact that you can sit in house and enjoy it. Not just sit in house, but you can sit here and get some work done too, why, because it does come off like a coffee house as well. Don't want to sit inside, guess where, there's outside seating that overlooks the sidewalk. So take in that fresh air when you are shoving that MTO goodness down your throat. Customer service, at least to me, was top notch here. I did not have a bad interaction here. Everything was neat and clean, all the shelves were well stocked, and I really couldn't find a fault in this place. What I learned today is that Big Foot is real and that I encountered that. What I mean by that is that a Sheetz with no gas pumps exists, and it works. I really wish this concept takes off and these types of locations start popping up more often. Only that they not just pop up near college campuses would be great too. Kind of funny if you think about it. Sheetz started out kind of like this and then added the gas, now they are heading back towards that.

I usually stop at this Sheetz or order occasionally through DoorDash, but my experience with drink…read moreorders has been pretty disappointing overall. On two separate occasions, my drinks were made incorrectly with the wrong flavors. On my first order, I purchased five drinks, but only one was actually given to me. When I went back, I was told they were "out of stock," even though the shelves were fully stocked with the exact same drinks I ordered, which made the explanation hard to understand and honestly very frustrating. On a second occasion, my drinks were made incorrectly with the wrong flavors, AGAIN! I definitely started notice a pattern rather than bad luck, so I went back to the store to get it corrected. What really stood out wasn't just the mistake itself, but how it was handled. It's one thing to make an error, but it's another when someone is literally looking at you and laughing about it as if wasting someone's time and money is funny, which felt disrespectful and unprofessional. I did speak with a manager, she took responsibility for the situation but didn't actually handle or resolve it. Honestly felt like she was trying to brush the issue off and move past it as if it never really happened and to me that really shows that customer service at this store doesn't seem like a priority. If you don't like your job, then QUIT, because bringing that kind of negative energy into customer interactions isn't fair to people who are paying for a service.

I cannot tell a lie, I love me some Sheetz. It could be the crappiest location or their oldest…read morestore and I would still go in a Sheetz. This is the newest of locations in good old Northern Cambria. If you were to drive through the town from the north you would see the other two old Sheetz buildings before you got to this new one. I give them props because they upped the amount of pumps available to get gas. They expanded the inside so that it's not so crowded when ordering food. What can be said badly about the food you order from Sheetz. Even the newer items there are amazing even if not well received by the general public. Downside to this location, even with the upgraded size from everything like the lot to the content of merchandise, accessibility to get into the location. Located right across the street from the Giant Eagle where no one really understand how to leave or enter their parking lot and on busy 219 makes it a bit uneasy. There is a back entrance, but not much better because the road still intersects with 219. If they were to reconfigure the entrance to GE and maybe add a traffic light for safety I would give this place five stars.

Mocha, cappuccino, frappe, black, creamer, hot cold. You name it, they have it. I'm a fan of the Peanut Butter Fluffernutter smoothie... Granted, it's not good for my waistline, but it's just so darn good! I've been to this Sheetz literally countless times. If you come here during prime times (Lunch time, breakfast time, supper) there may be a bit of a wait if you are ordering food/MTO drinks. Other than that I've never experience too many other issues here. The staff is always nice, which is a plus when they are super busy. If you're in Northern Cambria and in need of a fill up or a pick me up, stop here!
