The good: friendly, and pro crew giving great service. Boat is clean, and nice layout. Cons: "cocktail " cruise with cocktails so weak, the only conclusion I can come to is watered down liquor (5 cocktails and not even a happy buzz), food was super plain, and the tour itself lacked a lot of the delta flavor I was hoping for. The "safety talk" was more like sitting through a time share presentation, leaving you to wonder why you spent good $ to listen to a presentation to spend more (tacky). Would not do it again, better off just doing a riverboat cruise in Sac, or renting a canoe with a bottle. This was right in the middle, with the cons of both. read more

Red Hat Society ladies took the Delta Adventure. I had my doubts about this cruise, but it turned out to be an interesting and fun adventure. This is not like being on a cruise ship, its a land and water excursion. We stayed in cabins in Discovery Bay in the evening, cruised the San Joaquin and Sacramento River Delta, with tour stops along the way by bus. We went to Garlic Brothers Italian Restaurant for lunch one day. OMG, the food was delicious! We went on tours of Jessie's Grove Winery, Western Railway Museum (took a train ride), champagne tasting, gourmet cheese tasting, and so much, much more. Back at our base, we had instructions in line-dancing. So much fun. The crew was very attentive and professional. I would highly recommend this Delta Adventure. read more

Everything about our experience beyond met every expectation. From the moment we arrived to check in until we left, we had a wonderful time. Greeted great by Captain Paul, Melissa and the crew. Captain Paul was able to accomodate special vegetarian food request (it was Tacos , chips, and fruits) and drinks were great. Captain Morgan's Delta Adventures does an exceptional job. We went on out on Dec 27 2016 in remembrance of my husband Jose's 4th Anniversary of going home. We cruised on a perfect night with a glass Delta as we glided by all the homes decorated for Christmas. It was a memorable and touching event for all of our Family. Captain Morgan even mentioned my husband as we had commissioned him in 2011 for his birthday. You will be well taken care and learn some things about our beautiful Delta. My husband and I plus 4 other friends went on a 4 day trip with Captain Morgan and his wonderful crew at the beginning of June. We travel quite a bit and this trip was one we will highly recommend to others. The Sacramento River Delta is a beautiful, peaceful place that I've always wanted to explore. Everything about the trip exceeded our expectations: from the comfort and spaciousness of the houseboat, the wildlife we saw (a beaver and a raccoon to name just 2) , the delicious meals they prepared for us, to how well we slept. It all was so relaxing, just what a vacation is supposed to be! I also loved hanging out at the beach where we docked, going for rides on the speedboat, and visiting the very old town of Locke. Wow I must say this is the worst experience of my life so far. We booked a cruise for my grandparents anniversary and we were scheduled for 130 pm on 7-30-16. We waited till 220 pm and nothing was happening so we talked to captain Morgan himself and he stated he isn't doing another cruise after all of us had his rely email himself saying it's good to go. This guy had the nerve to yell at my grandma saying it's her fault that he won't take us because we were late but we arrive at 115pm for 130. I went on a Photographer's outing and liked it so much I wanted to share the great experience with 23 of my best friends in my car club. Oh my WOW! I am not one to actually make time to write a review but Captain Morgan and his amazingly kind crew are absolutely worth writing about! We purchased an affordable adventure to check out this Captain's boat and adventure on the Delta in Discovery Bay and I can say this was the most relaxing laid back adventure for a Sunday. Boat took off at 10:30am and returned 5:30pm so plan on making a full day of it (it'll fly right by). Check out his website: http://captainmorgansdeltaadventures.com/ Click on "Adventure Packages" (there are so many options of adventures) We selected the " Garlic Brothers Lunch Cruise from Discovery Bay to Garlic Brothers in Stockton" for $49.95 (tax and tip with lunch all included with the boat cruise). This is definitely the most relaxing adventure you can ever go on! The drink prices were absolutely affordable ($1 water, $3 beer and wine, $5 mixed drinks). Captain Morgan was the most down to earth captain and made our trip very enjoyable. The lunch at Garlic Brothers was definitely filling (family buffet style) with good food. There were 3 tables reserved for the 29 passengers at Garlic Brothers (no wait). They served fresh foccacia-like bread with balsamic vinegar, spring mixed salad (lightly tossed with dressing), pesto pasta (which was surprisingly really enjoyable, chicken (a bit dry), grilled asparagus, tri tip (served medium rare), and a fountain drink (no desert). You will not regret this adventure. Please note that majority of the passengers were of older age (~70s). There were 3 younger couples (~30-40s). Sorry to buck the consensus but I have to be honest about our experience. Went for the Christmas Light cruise with a group of 30+ people. Captain Morgan, his crew, and his boat were fabulous and very accommodating. We had a good time although there weren't nearly as many Christmas lights as I expected there would be - not his fault but disappointing just the same for a cruise hyped as a Christmas Light cruise. However my biggest disappointment was with his BYOB policy. While they have a no-host bar with very reasonably priced drinks we were told that you can bring your own bottle of wine for which they only charge a very modest $10 corkage fee. Knowing that we brought along a decent bottle of Champagne. However when we were boarding they took away our bottle. Apparently the Captain, for some inexplicable reason, doesn't consider Champagne to be wine! When we asked about his reasoning for this, he gave the excuse was that some people take advantage of his policy by bringing magnums of Champagne and so they don't spend any money at the bar. NEWS FLASH Captain Morgan! Red and white wines also comes in Magnum sized bottles! When restaurants quote their corkage fee policy they almost always qualify it by stating that the fee is for a ,750 ltr bottle. Of course they gave us back our bottle at the end of our cruise but after this rude surprise we refused to spend any money buying drinks from him. Hey, $10 would have been better then nothing at all and we would have been more favorable to buying more drinks if he hadn't resorted to such an arbitrary bait-and-switch policy. read more
