Had I only gone out 1 day I could have chalked it up to a bad day of fishing, which happens! After 3 days and having no keepers to show for it...at this point it's the Captain not being able to put you on the fish! Had plenty of luck on a different boat. Day 1: Caught 5 fish none bigger than 6 inches in about 3 hours of actual fishing time. Day 2: Got completely skunked! Not a single fish. Day 3: Caught 2 fish both 5 to 6 inches. Very disappointed in the new management. Party boat fishing isn't about landing trophy fish but they should be able to put you on the hot spots to at least catch fish. Sadly, Sailor's Choice in 2026 is not the boat it has been for me in years past! I can no longer recommend this and suggest you look elsewhere for your party fishing boat trips. The catch table picture says it all. That was the best day for the boat of the 3 days I went out!

My guess is the sales people are on commission: I had a guy come over and ask if I needed help..but after answering my questions, and I thanked him as said I was going to browse around, he followed me through the entire store, and when I left with a small item, he told me to be sure I told them he had helped me (nice guy, so I won't use his name). I came back the next day to check out the fins, and basically watched some newbie with his daughter get the "car salesman" treatment. First, in comparing two different fins I actually have, he mislead the guy with "this one is better"-- not that they different feels with different characteristics:(Scubapro Go Sport v Mares Quattro+ ). Nothing about the ScubaPro being lighter, easier to pack, more nimble, maybe easier kicking for him and better for snorkling etc.) Mare's Quattro + was just a "better fin". Again, I have both-- the Scubapro is easier for surface swimming / snorkling, nimble, and better for a frog kick; My guide yesterday - a highly experienced instructor wore them. I like the Mares Quattro though for open water Scuba; it seems more powerful and better for slow rhythmic kicks. Both great fins, just different. But this salesman clearly just wanted to sell him the more expensive fin. What really bugged me is that they didn't have the color the guy wanted, and the guy told the customer it was last year's model and the white was sold out. At any rate, the customer got some good gear, but I felt like the saleman took advantage of him just to push him to spend more $. Nice store, lots of gear...but "buyer beware".

Andrew provided ice and all the water you can drink. It's about ten minutes into the charter you realize you are with an expert boater and a professional fisherman, and your family is safe. This Keys native is why this is the best fishing in the world. He simply knows what he is doing and gets after it... Andrew took great care of my family and spoiled my kid forever!!! Not only did she land some nice fish...she learned about flats fishing from a guy who made sure she was always fishing always learning and always experiencing the generous kindness we all want for our kids. He encouraged every crank of the reel and held up the fish for her for the picture...She's already asking when we are going back out and if she could bait her own hook!!! There were three of us on our trip and there was never a time we didn't have a baited hook in the water and reeling in some mangrove snapper...Andrew even handed over a very nice speckled trout for my kid to reel in....what a thrill!!!! If you have an 11 year old and want a perfect day...I highly recommend starting super early and getting out in the flats with Papa Drew... For me...it will be unforgettable...especially when he said the most ridiculous thing I ever heard a guy say..."you see those Dolphin over there...I think I can make them jump up out of the water"...People please keep in mind that this part is a matter of an experienced set of eyes, expert boating and somebody up there wanting my kid to have a lifelong memory!!!! Check out the videos....and get out there with Papa Drew!!!!

There is parking on the South and North side of the bridge and your allowed to bring your fishing gear and a cooler for refreshments and food. Alcohol is allowed, no bottles so make sure you bring can. There are trash bins all over the pier and there is no rod limit. It's always important to fish with the current for best results, also you can catch your own bait or buy from many of the local bait shops in the area. I've always used cut ballyhoo and pilchards for great results. Snapper, Grouper, Grunts and Sharks from time to time are always in the area, as any fisherman knows it's call fishing not catching so it can be hit or miss but your odds of catching dinner are good. Cons: Night fishing can get really dark. There is no lighting on the bridge at night so make sure you bring some lanterns and flashlights (LED) for maximum lighting. Chairs !!! Like most bridges and piers there is no seating, make sure you bring some folding chairs to sit.
