My boyfriend and I had a great experience. They gave us a short educational review on how to use the fishing poles, rules, etc. Andrew was a great instructor. They took us to three spots as the 1st two wasn't yielding any catch. It was my first time and I caught 6 fish! Everytime I caught one "fish on" they quickly came and told me about my catch and saved it. They also recommended places to go cook our catch. They also have snacks on board. Horrible! You literally get 1.5 hours of actual fishing if so, they only go 20 something feet deep. Spent almost $800 on a group of people and caught 2 small fish. They take longer to get to the fishing site than fishing itself there. What a waste of money, very disappointed. All they say at the end is sorry it was a bad day. read more

In 2025, I gave Sailor's Choice a 5 star review. Unfortunately, everything has changed in 2026. New Captain, new mates and a new vibe on the boat = no keeper fish and no fun. Had I only gone out 1 day I could have chalked it up to a bad day of fishing, which happens! After 3 days and having no keepers to show for it...at this point it's the Captain not being able to put you on the fish! Had plenty of luck on a different boat. Day 1: Caught 5 fish none bigger than 6 inches in about 3 hours of actual fishing time. Day 2: Got completely skunked! Not a single fish. Day 3: Caught 2 fish both 5 to 6 inches. Very disappointed in the new management. Party boat fishing isn't about landing trophy fish but they should be able to put you on the hot spots to at least catch fish. Sadly, Sailor's Choice in 2026 is not the boat it has been for me in years past! I can no longer recommend this and suggest you look elsewhere for your party fishing boat trips. Long overdue for a review....I'm on at least once a month and EVERYONE on this charter is really great. You will always feel safe and even when it's busy or hot the crew is right there when you need them. Captains Alice and Joe really try hard to give everyone a great experience while fishing...often handing over a rod to a lil person or first timer so they can reel in a fish. Andrew and Luis just love what they do and it shows thru - they give short informative lessons on the species caught and make it fun. Don't be a spot hog...I've seen fish caught everywhere on the boat....not just the back. read more

I have done many other party boats that were far superior. There was not enough staff for the amount of people - usually your captain does not come down to help. Perhaps some called in sick? We really didn't catch much and were told it was too hot. Perhaps they should mention that if its too hot you won't catch much. Other boats I have been on will actually bait your hook also. read more

Forest, Andrew and the gentleman Captain were all great! While the fish weren't biting a ton because it was about 90 degrees and sunny, plenty of people still landed fish. We moved to a couple different spots to try our luck. We know there isn't much the captain can do when conditions aren't great but I still had a great time and they cleaned our fish for us and recommended Sharkeys around the corner to fry it up for us. The boat was well kept and I saw them scrubbing it down with soap before the next trip went out. The pelican and shark show was cool once we got back to the dock! Overall a fun experience! read more

Great time on this boat. I caught 13 and my friend caught 7. The woman in charge was fantastic. She kept moving the boat until she found a spot where everyone caught fish. She was fishing along side me and when she hooked one she had the mates get a young child to reel it in. That made for an enjoyable trip for the youngsters. This is the best fishing boat I have been on and when I return to the area I will go out again with it. Great job mates keep it up. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed this fishing experience. First mate Alan and Captain Alice are top notch. Alice had a sunfish the whole day well I should say half the day. These people took care of us like no other. I believe everyone on our boat caught fish and I are going to have dinner tonight. This is the way to go very affordable very good for kids as well. We had plenty of fish and one after another reeled in. After when we landed Alan David all the fish up. And then he offered to fillet the fish of course working off of Tips which we never mind it at all. I can tell you I will do this again and again when we come down to the keys. The friendliest people and honestly just the best job. Even if you don't fish it's a great boat ride for that money as well. They dont burn gas and go deep, they stayed in very shallow where there are only tiny fish, the mates were great taking out tangle and getting fish off the hooks but the Captain took up the whole back corner with her rods, when you are on an anchored boat the best spots are in the back and she just smoked cigarettes and took up the best corner of the boat, guess she forgot she is in the service industry. No fish is understandable. Sometimes they just don't cooperate. But when you notice that you are getting put on patch reefs that are havens for grunts, undersized Yellow Tails, and various trash fish, it's obvious they just don't care. Huge disappointment. For the price you cannot go wrong!!! The water was rough as heck but the captain and the crew did a great job trying to keep spirits up. We checked two spots but with how rough the water was about half the people sat down. NOT THE CAPTAINS FAULT. She got us to a third spot which was much calmer AND we started catching fish. The boat is modest and does a good job. All the equipment and bait is provided. For a fun family outing in Key Largo you just can't go wrong. Seriously do yourself a favor and go fishing with Sailors Choice. The only thing I would do differently would be to check the weather so I knew how rough the seas would be. Thanks again to them. Crew is extremely knowledgeable on the fish and are really helpful with fixing lines and getting fish off the hook. Really go out of the way to make sure that everyone of the boat has a good time. We went to 3 different spots to ensure people were getting bites. The mate, Doug, was super friendly and kind. Got to keep what we caught (at least what was allowed due to regulation) and Doug filleted it for us after! We were initially worried about over crowding that we weren't going to catch anything but that was definitely not the case! Went out on a half day charter. Had a wonderful time and between the three of us we caught 15 keepers. Devin and Doug were the guys helping all the people fishing. They were both very friendly and on top of things. The Captain was pretty funny trying to get the people pumped up about fishing . The crew cleaned our fish once we got to the dock. . Be sure to tip the guys. They work hard to make your trip fun and successful. They boat does have bathrooms although I did not use them. The boat also sells soft drinks and water. read more
